I will start this off by stating that I have not played through the first Diablo and only know certain things based on other peoples' statements. I also have not read the novels.
However, I believe that this cinematic can be broken down based on logic.
First we see Leah trying to figure something out. She then shows that she cannot figure out the answer and speaks into the air to her uncle Cain. This tells us that Cain probably is in a place that cannot be reached by her (either dead, taken by the angels for something, the demons, or even possessed.)
Next we see the "black soulstone". At first, I thought maybe this could be a piece remaining from the corrupted worldstone, but they specifically called it a soulstone. So I threw that notion out of the window.
Leah then has a hallucination of some sort eventually speaking to a demon that everyone here is sure of as being Azmodan. Well, we do know that said demon is of higher power to have his own minions, but he also says "Then, at long last, Azmodan shall rein as THE prime evil." Which confuses me on two things. Why would he refer to himself in the third person? Also, why did he mention Azmodan as THE prime evil instead of A prime evil?
However, I regress, I will run with the assumption that he is indeed Azmodan as it doesn't concern me very much. He is either going to be Azmodan or Belial, either way works.
Although, he refers to the black soulstone as "the key". He already tells us that he is about to ravage Sanctuary just to find the damn thing. So the BS (black soulstone) is a key to something bigger than just ruling Sanctuary. Now, since we know from past Diablo experiences, soulstones are used to contain the essence of demons or maybe even other things. What could this soulstone contain that is so important?
I should rephrase that question. What could the black soulstone contain that is so important that Azmodan believes that it will even make him a prime evil?
Lots of questions left to be answered. The story can twist so many different ways as it stands. I for one am very excited.
I look forward to hearing your opinions on all this.
EDIT:
I also wanted to add in that I read someone's opinion earlier that the hallucination that Leah was seeing was a memory from someone else. I agree with this because Azmodan talks to her saying something along the lines of his brethren falling into her trap. I don't think she has been around long enough to have set up a trap for all of his brethren. Since she tried to speak to Cain only a moment prior, I believe it is a memory or vision of Cain's.
I really want to know what you all think of my opinions instead of just acting as human spell checkers.
EDIT: I thought I had spelled it differently, but apparently not. So it was just an answer to a quick glance over that I wasn't 100% sure it was Azmodan. That part was negligible to begin with.
If Leah is the daughter to the dark wanderer / Diablo. Maybe Diablo is Leah this time, and thus the memory.
Azmodan (lord of sin) is confirmed since Belial has "many mouths" and he is the lord of lies.

I have not decided on what I think, but you should watch the original teaser trailer and the new cinematic. You would notice that Leah is in both of them with same clothes and probably the same place too.
What does that mean? Are the 2 cinematics connected somehow? And what does cain do in that chair briefly?
When she wakes up its the scene when she is afraid ans says "its not safe here" or whatever in the first teaser, at the end after Diablo shouts out.
The story seems to be like this..
Azmodan wants to rule but cant until he find the black stone thingy. Baal was the keeper of it in some seconds, I believe it has something to do with the heavens. And the same time the falling star, is a angel, now angry on the humans for having the black stone. Now its a race, and leah.. is a part of Diablo.
She has dark visions, it must be the dark blood in her veins. I wonder how she turns.. Cain knows this, or "feared this" as he usually put it.

I am intrigued by the black soulstone though. The only thing I can think of that makes sense as to what would be more important than ruling Sanctuary to the demons would be either it being the key to bring back Diablo and in turn he will reward Azmodan by making him a prime evil. Or like you said, it can be something to do with the heavens, possibly even being the key to allowing the demons to enter them. (I say them because of the whole debate over how Sanctuary probably has multiple hells thing that came up from the follower in the first gameplay trailer saying "What in the hells is that?")

Azmodan seems to have a grudge against Diablo, and "the heaven and hells shall tremble" tag on the Diablo 3 theme feels like D3 will end with killing Diablo, killing Azmodan and a angel being the main enemy in Diablo expansion 2013 that will be seen in the last act.
This would a peek into high heavens and a reason for us to be there, more then just visiting locked up (or revenge the death of..) Tyrael.
Edit: and if the level cap is 60 now, we could expect maybe 4 expansions, having it raise to lvl 100 in the final expansion. But I think they will only make 2 expansions.
My guess is altso we will see necromansers more and the tail of that DRAGON who created sanctum (cant remember it's name).
There's some other things to notice in the video.
When the vision starts, Leah appears in this dark hall, surrounded by seven pillars with thrones at the top.
Each throne appears to have a creature sitting in it, all except one. The big red Throne is the middle is empty.
Then, this guys http://www.diablowiki.com/images/f/f4/Diablo_III_concept_132.jpg turn to Leah, and Azmo appears.
As for the direction of the cinematic goes, they wanted to show us that only three members remain "active" in the Seven Throne room.
Then, Azmodan descends, maybe from the thrones, maybe not. If he does descends from the thrones, it would mean that he is one of the three creatures that turn to Leah (or maybe all of them, merged in some way, I dont know..)
Now, if he is indeed, one of the creatures, it would mean that the cratures on the thrones are some kind of a "True Form" of the Evils, since none of them looks like Azmodan, Belial or any other evil we know.
If this is true, and the creatures on the thrones are the basic true form of the evils, it would mean that, after they die, they will somehow remain in the throne room. I say this, because there actually are other creaures sitting in the thrones, altough they do not move or react.
NOW
All the thrones are occupied, except one. The big, red, nasty one. If my thoery is correct, and the creatures are the real form of the evils, it would mean that one of them is still alive, active and running around. And as the throne is a big, red, nasty one, I'll just guess it belongs to Diablo.
And then, oh lawdy, we have Leah in the middle of the scene, and Azmodan confronting her.
But they're not just chatting, Azmodan is defying her. And I dont think a powerful Demon would defy someone or something, if they were not in the same level.
So, here's my crazy crazy idea. We never got to kill Diablo, because he made a "backup" self inside her human daughter. In the book of cain it is said that Diablo is the most creative and farsighted of the Greater Evils, and this whole thing about heroes running around killing his brothers may have been a very intrincate plot made by him.
I say this because of the position Azmodan takes before Leah. Azmodan says that she has been taking the other evils out of the picture, and that he will not fall into that trap. A trap, he says.
This makes me believe that Leah, or the thing inside leah, is not a good one. A good creature wouldn't be fooling the demons, it wouldn't be leading the demons into traps. A good creature, let's say, an nephalem or an archangel, would be slaying them, or vanquishing them. Not fooling them. Not setting traps for them. Only one of their inner circle would responsable for setting traps in the way.
It would be the one who's missing from his throne, the one who framed his ex-bretheren.
Ok, that's all I got!
Wall text in there, I know, lot's of theorycrafting, I know.
I think what makes the Black Soulstone so powerful is that is the last fragment of the World Stone; and possesses the spirits of both Tyrael and Baal.
This is where the old mythology of Anu comes in. Just as Anu and the Dragon fought for an aeon within the perfect crystal before Time, so too do Tyrael and Baal battle within that shard. It is an amalgam of Heavenly and Hellish power imbued within the last fragment of the World Stone, which rests at the center of all creation.
Whom so ever possesses the Black Soul Stone may be able to shape all reality as they see fit.

My thoughts.
And I dont think Azmodan is one of those three you see before he hits the floor. I think he just jumps off from another smaller throne.. He cant take Diablos place when Diablo is "still around and having the dark stone". He wants to finish Diablo, but our heroes will do it for him instead, perhaps a plan of Azmodan, triggering something so WE do the stuff for him. But if Diablo is the endboss I dont see how this could happen in a nice structure since Azmodan is probably dead when we deal with Diablo. Hmmm... *brainstorm!*
And about Anu and the dragon, it would be a nice expansion!
It is funny though he says he want's to become THE prime evil. That could either just mean destroying the others maybe or actually absorbing them to become Tathamet which was known as THE prime evil.
To become Tathamet he would have to, like, absorve every single demon and evil doer in the galaxy. As I said the other day, I dont think they'll bring the Anu and Tathamet thing in the game. And if they do, it would probably be just to explain the origin of the cosmos.
Also, remember that the tale of Anu and Tathamet is a myth among myths, there's no real evidence that they ever existed, or that the prime evils come from the severed heads of Tath.
It seems far fetch to bring Anu and Tathamet back. (did research) Source with lore about Anu and Tathamet
About the black stone:
The Eternal Conflict
I take the following knowledge from a surviving
fragment of one of the scrolls of the Church of the
Zakarum. In it, the unknown scribe tells of event which
took place millennia before the founding of the church.
Thus, the description are of questionable
validity. I personally believe that the tales came
from earlier and unknown source. I have my
suspicions, which, for the time, I will keep to
myself-although, I might expatiate on these
things in a latter writing. The scrolls describe a
war fought by agent of light and order against
creatures of chaos and shadow. That is to say,
forces both of the High Heavens and
the Burning Hells (see later sections).
This war was most commonly fought
within the realm of Pandemonium.
According to one of the earliest necromancers,
the angels and demons battled over control of
one essential object, the Heart of Creation-the Worldstone.
The Worldstone is not, as the name implies, a mere
stone. It is a colossal, mountain-sized object
which was believed by many (and is supported by multiple petroglyphs
and ancient sculptures) to be the actual Eye of Anu,
the One. According to legend, to which I subscribe, the Worldstone
is an artifact of unimaginable power.
Lacking the specificity and background a scholar such as I would like,
a belief exists that control of this stone changed hands many times
over the eons. Oral history tells us that the Worldstone "allowed the side
that possessed it to alter reality and create life and worlds almost without
restriction." The account continues that "angels used the stone to built worlds
of perfect order in line with their ideals of justice, hope, wisdom, fate, and
valor." whereas demons used the stone to "create unfathomable engines
of annihilation and worlds of destruction, terror, and hatred. However, these
worlds created by angels and demons never flourished. They were inherently
flawed, and doomed to wither and die."
I know not whether such world were even created or, if they
were, whether any of them still exist. To the best of my knowledge, no
man has ever beheld such a world. Therefore, I suspect that this account
is literary license. What we can agree upon, however, is that this object
was of great importance and that, whatever its use, it was greatly coveted
by angels and demons.
If I'am correct Azmodan says "One by one OUR brethren fell in to your trap" so that means Leah is one of the prime evils most likely she is Diablo.
The Dark Wanderer, Aiden, is Leah's father, so she likely carries within her a fragment of Diablo's essence. I don't think Leah is Diablo, at least no yet.

Likely something along with what the original soulstones contained, i.e. the Prime Evils themselves. What no one seems to be asking is where the soulstone came from, how does it fit with the established story laid out in the preivious games? When was it created?
Assuming that Azmodan is speaking to Diablo rather than Leah herself, and that Diablo intended to fool all Great Evils, perhaps the Black Soulstone is his failsafe, his wa to return to life after death. Perhaps it was intended to be used by all the Three, perhaps with it Azmodan can usurp their powers. Regardless of which, it would seem reasonable to assume tha the Black Soulstone is somehow linked to the power of the Three.
All the thrones are occupied, except one. The big, red, nasty one. If my thoery is correct, and the creatures are the real form of the evils, it would mean that one of them is still alive, active and running around. And as the throne is a big, red, nasty one, I'll just guess it belongs to Diablo.
It makes no sense. Azmodan is still alive, so why wouldn't his throne be empty? And if it's cause he's in Hell, who are the other two guys with him?
This makes me believe that Leah, or the thing inside leah, is not a good one. A good creature wouldn't be fooling the demons, it wouldn't be leading the demons into traps. A good creature, let's say, an nephalem or an archangel, would be slaying them, or vanquishing them. Not fooling them. Not setting traps for them. Only one of their inner circle would responsable for setting traps in the way.
Angels would certainly have been screwing with them as well, but I agree that he's most likely referring to a demon, and given Leah's heritage, likely Diablo. If for no other reason that the fact that Diablo is the principle villain of the game and it would make the most sense for him to lead such a ploy.
I think what makes the Black Soulstone so powerful is that is the last fragment of the World Stone; and possesses the spirits of both Tyrael and Baal.
Which assumes Tyrael is dead, something I hightly doubt. I think Tyrael would have survived the explosion of the Worldstone plenty easily.
The Black Soulstone will of course still be the last fragment of the Worldstone though if we assume Baal's soulstone was destroyed after the end of LoD.
To become Tathamet he would have to, like, absorve every single demon and evil doer in the galaxy. As I said the other day, I dont think they'll bring the Anu and Tathamet thing in the game. And if they do, it would probably be just to explain the origin of the cosmos.
Agreed, I think the new creation myth provides a much necessary back drop for the lore and an explanation for the driving forces behind Heaven and Hell, but I don't expect us to ever see a fully fledged return of Anu and Tathamet. If the story is even to be interpreted literally.
What if the Black Soulstone holds the souls of the Prime Evils. Tyrael said that they were banished back into the Black Abyss, but what if that's not the case. If Leah is carrying a fragment of Diablo's soul inside her, perhaps Diablo needs that very fragment of his soul in order to free himself from the Black Soulstone. If this is true, it would appear that Azmodan has no knowledge about this
Or it is exactly what he has learned, and the very reason he's searching for it.

It makes no sense. Azmodan is still alive, so why wouldn't his throne be empty? And if it's cause he's in Hell, who are the other two guys with him?
I stated that this idea would only be valid if Azmodan was one of the creatures on the thrones, and if he had just jumped from it.
The other bad guys, I have no idea. I'll say Belial and...uh.. I dont know..
I'm just trying to read the signs. Big red throne empty. Three bad guys looking at the camera from above. One of the story bad guys suddenly descends from what it appeards to be one of the thrones.
I think PhrozenDragon nailed it. Everything falls into place with his explanation.
It even explains why Azmodan says "THE prime evil" instead of "A prime evil".
I like the idea of "3 will become 1" though. I'm not too sure how it will work out, but I like it nonetheless.
Also, I think the story making a twist into heaven at one point is also a given due to the original quote on the website saying something along the lines of "And the heavens shall tremble".

Also, remember that the tale of Anu and Tathamet is a myth among myths, there's no real evidence that they ever existed, or that the prime evils come from the severed heads of Tath.

What?...
Our brethren would mean that he's talking about demons in general, probably including the prime evils.
The Dark Wanderer, Aiden, is Leah's father, so she likely carries within her a fragment of Diablo's essence. I don't think Leah is Diablo, at least no yet.
All in the Forger's wake is left bereft and fallow-Excerpt from the Litany of Residuum;
As Translated by He Who Brings Order
Assuming that Azmodan is speaking to Diablo rather than Leah herself, and that Diablo intended to fool all Great Evils, perhaps the Black Soulstone is his failsafe, his wa to return to life after death. Perhaps it was intended to be used by all the Three, perhaps with it Azmodan can usurp their powers. Regardless of which, it would seem reasonable to assume tha the Black Soulstone is somehow linked to the power of the Three.
It makes no sense. Azmodan is still alive, so why wouldn't his throne be empty? And if it's cause he's in Hell, who are the other two guys with him?
Angels would certainly have been screwing with them as well, but I agree that he's most likely referring to a demon, and given Leah's heritage, likely Diablo. If for no other reason that the fact that Diablo is the principle villain of the game and it would make the most sense for him to lead such a ploy.
Agreed, I think the new creation myth provides a much necessary back drop for the lore and an explanation for the driving forces behind Heaven and Hell, but I don't expect us to ever see a fully fledged return of Anu and Tathamet. If the story is even to be interpreted literally.
Or it is exactly what he has learned, and the very reason he's searching for it.
THAT is cool!
