i'm planning of ditching my EF for a rare weapon with LS. Other sites suggest getting 3% LS on weapons for MP8 and above which is very hard to find in AH right now without losing too much dps. Planning to get a high dps sword with int, chd, and socket. What do you guys think is the minimum LS i should look for in a weapon?
I need to read exactly 7 words of your post to reply "YES, DO IT". Ditch EF. Totally overrated weapon, by all means go for a rare one, will give you better stats for less money.
You will lose DPS if you go for a LS weapon (as opposed to no-LS), but as Jaetch mentioned in his video guide - getting no LS and compensating with other means of survivability (increasing mitigation beyond the suitable amount for your MP target level, tying yourself to BM rune, or even trying to get along with LoH or life regen) will always turn out to be more expensive in the end. It's a fallacy to think that going the "no LS route" will save you money in the end. This is only the case if you're completely maxed out and outgearing content (e.g., you're at 500k DPS and 500k EHP but play MP7 all the time because of your friends).
Minimum LS... well, very subjective, I personally try to not get below 2.6, but always check the alternatives, if there's a weapon with significantly more damage and 2.5% LS for the same money, I wouldn't mind choosing that either.
Note: I never get weapons with main stat (dex/str/int), because it ties the weapon to the specific class. I've got a nice rare sword with vit main stat only, and it makes my monk, barb, and wiz happy :-)

I'm the same way, there's actually no reason to get primary stats on it when you play more than 1 class.
socket
life steal
crit dmg
black dmg
wep % dmg
focus on getting those as high as possible and if your build can utilize ias all the better. If ias isn't your 6th stat a vit roll would be your next best option. Although Int isn't an awful stat.. (Only 1 streg user, only 1 dex user, 2 int users) and int = resists
While it's not set in stone, confirmed, or anything like that, one or more of the dev statements (and I think the datamining strings corroborate this) have shown that Life Steal may see something of a drop or be taken away. Hate to consider that a "nerf," as nerfs tend to make characters weaker, and I don't think such a change will make characters weaker, per se...
However, you may want to attempt or try to function without Life Steal (or as much), as you may be forced to do so when some of the updates come through.
Thanks for all the response. I now get the idea what numbers to look for and also my options expanded by your suggestion of not only looking for weapons with intelligence. I'm planning to play all the class and it's really useful to be able to share the weapon. Maybe I'll get one with vit, int(resist) or no stats at all.
I've been through the AH and find more good dps weapons with no stat but with socket, crit dmg, life steal and increased attack speed. Should I aim for this one if I want to maximize dps on weapons?
I got around 2b gold to use. Here's my d3up so you guys can get an overall look of what I have currently. http://d3up.com/b/1050175/chachi

I've also put thought onto this. I can also try going no LS. I feel i'm at the part of Jaetch's video between a decision of getting LS or no LS . I just want to enjoy the current D3 and improve my wiz. I might as well use my gold while AH is still there. The nerf will be together with RoS so i'm not worried about that.

I agree, that "nerf" comes along with system changes that allows them to nerf/remove lifesteal.
There's little chance any weapon you purchase now will last you until 70. With lifesteal expected to be unnecessary or unavailable and 3k+ dps 1 handers existing. Accounting for crit dmg, stats and socket even a poorly rolled 2.3k+ dps weapon would be enough to replace whatever it is you have, even if you're Jaetch
So you may as well get a weapon that helps you level faster now, rather than handicap yourself for the sake of it. Besides there's always that small chance Blizzard doesn't remove lifesteal on current weapons but removes the mod from available affixes on new drops.
That means that even if your weapon would be a "bad" weapon but still usable at the early stages of gearing, the one with lifesteal would be worth more than one with a 100 more dps.
@Shad3slayer I didn't know that about Monks and Barbs. So that's what riptide mean about build not utilizing ias. I'm planning of getting other class to p100 after my 2 wiz but it's still a plan though.

Kind of, there's some builds like Sleet Storm that you don't want the IAS because it expends resources way too fast. I feel similarly about Bears/Bats for a WD, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I just wouldn't want it on every piece of gear and if given the choice between crit/crit hit/avg dmg/ias I would pick IAS last.(for all resource intensive builds)
The thing with main stat vs no main stat is that going for the main stat in my experience gives you more DPS than similarly priced weapons without the main stat.
While this is very true, you have to realize that you're going to be using the same weapon for all classes. Your budget can be increased and not feel as bad about it, in fact in the end it would probably be cheaper than getting 4 different weapons.
Including main stat. in weapons just open up more choices. For high-end weapons, every player is just as smart and it is hard enough to find a good weapon nowadays even with a lot of gold.
Thanks everyone for all your advices. I've collected all your inputs on my decision on picking up a new weapon. I've waited for a week for the weapon to show up in AH and finally got one earlier with sufficient LS with no dps loss. It just takes patience and I'm very happy with it. I'm able to move up one mp lvl with ease and satisfaction and will have to test in moving up more. Definitely LS gave a very big difference and finally ditched my EF. This couldn't have been possible without everyone's advices. You know who you are and a big THANK YOU!

I think this capture my thoughts right now.
I think it doesn't matter what weapon I buy right now. We have Loot 2.0 for 60 to 70.
