Tried this out for the first time. Just a brief showing of me using a mix of CM-stunlock with Archon.
Also, fail at 5:16. And yeah, these mobs were pretty easy. Reflect isn't a real problem, but Fire Chains is (first NV stack before I tried recording this).

I was constantly swapping between a complete Archon build (solo play) and classic CMWW (group play). This hybrid makes Archon useful in groups, without making me stand around and wait during the cooldown. Plus, I can finally get rid of the APoC gear... well, I'll keep it for uber runs.
I tried almost every signature spell+rune to see if there's something useful, but just by looking at it I thought "37% weapon damage? this is so useless, won't even try..." foolish me ;-)

Yeah, there was a time where I had over 2.0 APS but it could be a while until I get back there.. really miss it lol. Going to do some more testing for choices under 2.0 APS that will right for me.

It's okay, you'll get used to whatever APS you have eventually. I used to run about 2.75 APS and I'm down to 2.07 without Enchantress now. Attack speed is great here, but crit chance more so. I run 53% crit chance, which is overkill, but that way I can ignore completely stacking attack speed.
hmm what for do you have arcane dynamo? AFAIK, 5 flash of insight buffs only first 'ray of death' while in archon form, not the entire duration of it.
Situation where I (re)activate Archon during an elite pack happen quite frequently. Basically I try to burn them down in one cast, sometimes item-swapping to a SoJ.
It is also the case in Uber battles.
Alternative for this slot is Blur, which makes it quite comfortable in mp7. I wouldn't use Glass Cannon, and find Galvanizing ward non necessary, as I usually don't sustain Archon for more than a minute or two.
Does it buff the enormous explosion on activation from Arcane Destruction Archon? That would be pretty funny.
I think it does, I'll test it tonight. I also want to know if it buffs the 1st ray as well, isn't it the same "cast" ? As in one action from the player ?

As far as I know, it doesn't. At least it didn't pre-1.05, for sure. Maybe it has changed since then... tried it yesterday though and I didn't notice a big increase in damage. I'll do some more testing, too ;-)
Arcane Dynamo only affected the very first beam of Archon you had cast, nothing else. It would skip the rune completely.

When I get my power back up I'll tweak this a little bit and do some more MP10 with more elite/champ variety.
Also, can someone try running Arcane Destruction against Reflect packs? Sometimes I 1-shot myself and other times I don't, but I have a feeling it's because sometimes I pop Diamond Skin right before popping Arcane Destruction, which might have absorbed some of the damage.
My DPS is only 109k, but I manage MP3 pretty well and can pretty much faceroll MP1 & MP2.
I've got some life steal and life on kill to ease things but I have started to notice problems with damage reflection and often find it's easier to just stunlock them until they are low enough to blast through with Archon.

Yeah, it's a 1-shot. Happens sometimes... I try to not use the explosion before I have aligned all elite around me and I'm sure that they don't have damage reflect.
I've been using this build for the last couple of days for both group and solo play; it allows you to go to areas that are not completely covered with mobs. You aren't useless when your Archon has cooldown, and I just like the spell more than all the alternatives (I'm a bit sick of WW or blades).
This is actually working quite nice.. Tried it out and finally mp10 seems a bit more manageable, rather than going cm wizz.. which Im not really into...
Wouldn't energy twister be better to proc CM? I used to play a very similar build and energy twister is better than living lightning, you'd need some APoC though

Have you tried a regular CM spec with that gear?
And I really hate firechains. Especially with teleport or vortex. That's just not fair.

I use pinpoint barrier instead of prismatic armor, as I don't have enough crit gear at the moment.
