II've read all the recent threads and I got a few questions. First off im following Nmitty's 1.04 guide. I am power leveling up and am 44 right now. Since im following that guide what kinda gear should I go for? Critical hit chance and damage?if so about what % chance should I shoot for? Everything ive read ppl say about 500 AR is a good start. Is a ceremonial knife mandatory or just if i need mana regen? Are there any must have legendaries? Like thing of the deep? Im not sure how much it would help because I have no use for pick up radius with only gargantuan pet. Im really digging some acid cloud and firebomb is ok. I have all xp stuff on right now co I don't have a good feel as im getting my buddy to rush me. Main question is critical chance or other stats.... thanks guys
Nah.
You don't seem to know what "Rest in Pieces"-affix does on the weapon. Your last hit (kill-blow) will deal 10-20x the normal damage, so it is very common to see damages like 10 million. If you have for example 2.5% life steal on the weapon as well (only slot for WDs to get life steal), you will gain 50 000 HP from the killing blow (and if you are AoEing, someone will always die and you gain ridiculous amount of health. That's why you don't need any defensive stats).
Obviously blizzard wanted the affix to be just for the looks, but it seems they forgot about the healing properties...
There is another high-level weapon that has the affix and it is "Sever". I've seen barbarians going godmode with that weapon and whirlwind-build. "Boneshatter" also has the affix, but it is lv14 two-hander so...yeah.
PS: Before you spend millions on one of the weapons, beware, the affix might get nerfed in the future
PSS: You are right, LoH is great when playing without "exploits". If you have low DPS or you are using average-damaging skills, you should get LoH instead of Life Steal.
It's a very cool proc but personally I wouldn't go out of my way or pay a lot for it. At this point in the game, I only ever die on Elite packs and the proc is a lot less useful on elite packs since you will only be getting 3-4 kills. Yes, sometimes they come with trash but once they die the proc won't be helpful. In the long run, the proc won't be that helpful except that you can be more reckless with white mobs (imagine the weapon + 4 piece WD set, so awesome). It would be really cool to see insane zbears crits though, don't get me wrong.
How much do those run anyway? I haven't kept my eye on weapons recently.
As for something to shoot for? I'd go with the WD set boots. + poison damage adds a lot of dps.
is mana regen necessary? i mean i know its kinda situational i guess but i know those only come from ceremonial knives..... i would love to have a character that runs with a full set like zunimassa or whatever.... i think that would be awesome but ppl are retarded with prices. so no critical hit/damage? i really want to like stay in character i guess u could say with a ceremonial knife and headress but i see a ot of ppl using spears. guess they are cheaper with higher dps? also what follower? i see alot pf ppl using scoundrel and i wondered y not templar to help keep monsters off of u?? thanks!!!!

A lot of builds use high mana spending AOE abilities. Is mana regen completely necessary? Maybe not, but having it will increase your damage, so it's definitely a perk. Keep in mind 10 mana regen is about a 20% increase in regen, so 20% more big spells cast.
Templar monster agro is pretty weak really, most monsters just run right past him towards you, while a scoundrel with a cold bow specced into multishot will slow groups down heavily. Also, the crit boost, at least to me, is worth 3-4K character damage.
I think you basically go Scoundrel if you like to kite, or Enchantress if you tank. Are any classes really making use of Templar? At this point in gearing he seems real weak as it's Damage vs. Armor / damage vs. negligible resource regen.
by cold specced im guessing thats freeze on hit? thanks for that, i did not know that about the scoundrel as my barb uses enchantress. i def use the scoundrel for my WD.

???
Almost all classes use the templar just because he can have the most MF.
Also, I find his heals to be extremely helpful against reflects damage.

It's not people being retarded with prices... that's how much they are going for. Believe it or not but the pieces are selling for the prices you see them at.
I've spent around 40M (80M total) on both a well rolled helm and chest. I would have spent even more on the helm if I wanted crit damage (probably around 100M is the going rate) but I'd have to give up almost 100 int unless I wanted to spend EVEN more. It's a very valuable set due the set bonuses and awesome stats on each piece. It's a good long term goal though and you could always settle on a poorly rolled item (even for helms the poorly rolled ones were selling for around 10M). However, it's my thought that if you're paying that much, you might as well buy something good and not have to rebuy it later. I don't plan on rebuying my chest or helm at any point really so it's money well spent. I'm now saving up for the ring which will give me the 4 piece bonus

My templar on my WD has 48.5% dodge, 73k hp, so he almost never dies and even though I have > 2k life regen his heals are still really useful. There have been times my dogs and gargantuan all died to desecrator or who knows what and he was the only thing tanking an elite pack for me. He's a straight balla.
Edit: Oh but yes a LOT of times monsters run right past him. That's why I gave him chance to freeze
hmmm well im only rocking with 21 mil in the bank total so i dont think that will happen lol. i farm for hours but have only found a couple items that ive sold for a good chunk. so right now i just sell what i can and bank it. Ruppgu is the set ur going after zunimassa?

Yeah... I'm at the point where the 4 piece will speed up my runs a lot. I can kill packs of whites in 1-2 bears but I go at such a fast pace (spirit walk between rooms) that I typically get low on mana after a few rooms. The 10 mana on kill (+ 20 regen) will be a huge help in my farming speed.
cool. so should i go for critical hit/damage? if so what % for each is a good starting point? about 5-600 res a good starting point as well? does intelligence help out alot with resistances for the WD?
Its tryhard's guide
