Ooops... yeah... I just realize I never bumped this :) Well, I guess by now whoever is interested in it knows that I keep this up-to-date, and I didn't see a reason to spam this everywhere on all forums and Reddits and stuff. But thanks for the pointer, maybe there's someone out there who didn't notice the update yet ;)

UE grenades ended up in the top 10 clears (GR100) so yes, of course it's viable.

(Or just log in to KR realm and check DH S9 leaderboards, but I'm sure in other regions there are others who have done the same.)

Also, I moved the topic to DH forums and change the title to something more appropriate and less generic.

    Good stuff.

Do you know if fst is going to update the pocket guide? Otherwise I'd remove obsolete links for now (like droprates and conquests, which are outdated).

posted a message on Which solo Class/Build for Season10?

The new Inna's builds are supposed to be much better. Haven't tested it yet, but will do this week, as I might play monk this season. I suggest you do the same as I will do - check out our builds database for S10 Inna's builds and test them :)

posted a message on Which solo Class/Build for Season10?

And which class is the best to Start/Do the seasons journey fastest? Thinking about completeting the conquests...

Since two of the conquests require *multiple classes* anyways, and I'd strongly recommend going for those over the stupidly annoying and difficult "Sprinter" conquest, the answer is: no single class. You'll have to play multiple classes anyways for Guardian (for Conqueror it really doesn't matter, every class can easily do that and the difference is so small that it should solely be based on preference of playstyle). So just start with whatever class you like and then powerlevel a second (or maybe even third) class to get the sets required. You can make up your mind along the way.

If you were to judge all those builds (including the DH), which would you deem the strongest if youre looking for a combination of survivability and damage?

Disclaimer: I haven't tested all of those in-depth and such an assessment would be very subjective anyways. But overall the answer is... it depends for which stage. At different stages in the game, different classes/builds shine.
For example, during leveling (1-70) nothing beats the WD. Once you get the Haedrig's Gift, Marauder (DH) is probably the *most powerful* of the free sets, whereas Raekor is the *fastest* (so while you can farm 1-2 Torments higher with Marauder, Raekor will be faster, and both should net the same loot per hour). Inna's is supposed to be also really good this season, but I haven't tested the new Inna's yet. Once you get to GR50-60, you'll probably have access to other class sets; so between GR50-70 I'd say the Invoker Crusader is by far the "toughest" and the Unhallowed Essence DH will be the "fastest". In terms of damage the differences simply come down to loot (finding an ancient weapon and a few well-rolled pieces is more important than the class/spec). At some point you'll find those builds either lacking damage or survivability; for some this happens sooner (e.g., all barb builds) or later (e.g., Manald Heal wizard or LoN Thorns Crusader). But those builds come with drawbacks: LoN Thorns requires to have the 60% CDR and synchronize the Bombardments with CoE cycle, and MH wizard is super squishy and needs some practice of getting into the playstyle. You might actually be better just continuing a Marauder DH all the way.

That's the essence of this game: it all depends. Yes, some sets are stronger than others, but at the end of the day, your playstyle, your loot (for which build do you have ancient/well-rolled items), and your preference are FAAAAAAAAR more important than following any of the bullshit "meta" trends by which so many people kill the fun of the game for themselves. This game has probably 50 different builds that can easily clear GR60+ (which is sufficient for Conqueror), so I don't get why people always treat this game as if there's only 2 builds that you need to play in order to get anywhere. But I've accepted that people want an answer... so if you desperately need to hear something just go for Marauder DH as it's a decent starter set that let's you do everything you want. But for the love of Diablo, try out other stuff as well. This game has so much diversity, and all the people who claim that their build is 100x better than any other build are straight up destroying this game for everyone else.

posted a message on Which solo Class/Build for Season10?

As for DH, you said you don't like the playstyle in later seasons - but do you know that the Marauder (i.e., Turret) DH is back in S10? It's even the starter set. Granted, you need to shoot for your turrets to shoot; you can't just put down turrets and go afk. But it's still very close to the S1-S3 Marauder DH I'd say, and very powerful. And also quite decent solo.

All 5 builds you mention are good and interesting; WD Gargantuan and Thorns crusader are the only two of those 5 that work with the starter set (Zuni buffs Gargantuans, and the Akkhan set can be used for a decent thorns build). You could then transition into Firebats or Hammerdin, depending on which class you play. Note that the "CD management" of thorns builds is only important for the Legacy of Nightmares thorns build, which is more difficult to gear anyways; the Invoker or Akkhan thorns builds are no-brainers. But in the end... really... everything works.

WW barb might also be cool, but keep in mind that the starter build is Raekor which means you'll have to play that quite a while before you can transition to WW (need full set and preferably ring+BK weapons).

In terms of damage I'd rate them as follows (I'm excluding the cooldown-heavy LoN thorns build for crusader): Firebats > Hammerdin > Garg > Thorns > WW

And in terms of survivability: Thorns > WW > Garg > Firebats > Hammerdin

For pure solo though, to put this in perspective, I think the Marauder DH would probably be the best of both worlds (decent damage and decent survivability). However: all classes/builds are perfectly viable solo, and while there are a few that have exceptionally high damage (like the lightning Manald Heal wizard) they come with tradeoffs like being a bit more difficult to gear+play, so in the end you should really just go for whatever playstyle you like; the difference in the end might be 5-10 GR levels or so.

    According to this:

    https://d3resource.com/difficulties/

You should always get at least one from every run.

True, but it also says at bottom of page 'GR key and machine drop rate (for all difficulties) and all T11-T13 drop rates are estimates'.
Which makes me wonder if its accurate for low difficulties.
T11-T13 are estimates because Blizzard never revealed any numbers after introducing those difficulties. Also, they only said that now every rift (from Normal on, the lowest difficulty) will always yield a GR key, so while the percentages for rift keys are estimates, I've never heard anyone complain about the numbers in this sheet, and it's been out for a looooong time (I think those numbers were derived almost a year ago or so).

The only thing I can think of is, like others have said, that OP wasn't level 70 at the time of killing the RG. Well or playing an old version on console. But as of now, every level 70 rift will always yield a key.

    Welcome to Diablofans!

And I think you're doing it exactly right, play it "naturally", saying no to all boosts (and of course cheats like duped items) - they destroy the fun in this game. Take it slow, this game is most exciting if you discover everything yourself and set your own pace. Have fun! That being said, if you ever struggle just ask for help, there's plenty of helpful people around here.

OOOOOOOH that's a brilliant idea. Now I'm gonna make a first armory entry called "empty" on all my characters! Yes!

    posted a message on Q:New Meta for S10 (4-Man)

s10 meta will be 3 x lightning wiz and one support. Even with the MH nerf, wiz's are so far ahead of other classes for DPS that using anything else makes no sense.

Like in S9, where wizard cleared 7 tiers higher than monk (GR111 vs GR104) in solo and thus there's wizards in every 4 player group, right? Oh, wait.

    posted a message on Q:New Meta for S10 (4-Man)

This is a screenshot from 4 man leaderboard on PTR; taken a minute ago:

Wiz/DH/double crusader is the new meta. You heard it here first. Made top 20 on PTR, so it must be meta, right? RIGHT? RIGHT?

    Well...

Maybe not quite. It's only GR40.

No one is playing PTR. There's simply not enough testing to give any definitive answer about the S10 meta. And there won't be until PTR goes down, because Blizzard recently started to make meta-impacting changes post-PTR. You can ask about the meta a few weeks into the season. But: IT DOESN'T MATTER. In the first few days and weeks, the meta is *not* the same as the final season push meta. You're not pushing on day 1 or in week 1 of the season; you're speedfarming.

Pick any class you like, or whatever your group wants you to pick. Be prepared to change classes. That's it. Same every season.

Currently it's assumed that the meta is sup barb, sup monk, WD for trash, and either monk, wiz, or DH for the RG (all three seem to be viable). But anyone who will now tell you "THIS IS THE S10 META FOR SURE" is an absolutely bloody fool. Don't ask for them, don't listen to them. If anyone of the top players tells you what the S10 meta is, they'll be trolling you; they know better.

posted a message on Season Journey Tracker

Every class can do Bossmode - easily. It's just about the question "when". With Marauders being the free set, I think WD and DH are basically on par - the only difference being that WD is about an hour faster at level 70. But once you are farming T6, WD is one of the slowest classes, so the DH will take over here. It's funny: WD is the best class for the first 3 hours of the season (level 1-70) and the best at the end (main damage dealer in high GR clears). But for everything in between it... sucks. (And I say this as someone who has played most seasons as WD).

As for the conquests, all of them are infinitely easier in groups. Unless it is anyone's passion to "play solo", I urge everyone to group up with others. It will make the 6x GR55s easy as hell. I personally am only playing S10 if at least one of my friends is playing. This season solo is gonna be a terrible experience, but in a group you'll get the 6 required sets very soon - as well as get the conquests much easier. This is a non-solo player season. Last season was for solo players. Unless a solo player fancies the portrait (which is freaking ugly) or doesn't have the stash tab yet, sitting this one out might not be the worst thing to do.

    THANK YOU, zearic!

Also good to know that nothing changed but a few bosses. It's gonna make the transition much easier for me.

Two conquests are fine - the 3 gems to 65 you're gonna pick up "along the way" (as it's less than 3 gems to 70 for Guardian), and Boss Mode is actually one of my favorite conquests. Really easy and rewarding teamplay.
