posted a message on INSANELY Fast Paragon Run - 20% Faster then Alkaizers
    Quote from Gohei27

I do something very similar to this run, it's a mix between yours and alkaizers actually.

I start off at core like Alkaizers, I like this zone because it has a 1-3 champ packs and is small. wp to the tower of damned 1, also small, 1-3 packs, if I don't have 5 stacks I wp to tower of cursed 1, relatively small 1-3 packs. Once I have 5 stacks I head to raxxis, work my way backwards to fields of slaughter, run a circle around the fields and wp to keep depths level 1, head to level 2, clear it and teleport to town. stash the items i have and then run to skycrown battlements, clear it and stonefort.

The only area you need to know your way around if keep depths 2, which is pretty easy, the exit is always left, so I always check going right first. If i started on a bottom entrance, I do right then bottom first, if I started on a top entrance, I go right then top first. This method usually helps me finding all the champs without backtracking, "much."

Correct me if I'm wrong but iirc it's something like this.

    Core = 1-3 packs
    Damned 1 = 1-3 packs
Cursed 1 = 1-3 packs* I only run this if I was unlucky with packs in the first two zones.

Raxxis = 3-5 packs* Since I don't clear the top part I never count on getting the min or max number of packs.
Fields of Slaughter = 2-4 packs
    Keep Depths 2 = 3-5 packs
    Skycrown Battlements = 3-6 packs
    Stonefort = 2-4 packs + keywarden

This is almost exactly what I do as well. Except I normally don't run battlements, I really only run stonefort for KW, becuase there are 2 points where theres a stretch of no mobs and I often lose Archon.

I'l try battlement tonight and see. I guess the only other thing I do is Keeps 3, but I only do 1 pass.....its basically a big X, so I go to the center, pick 1 leg, run it, and port out. Its quick and a good way to finish out the area since I usually have 45 seconds or more left on Archon after Keeps 2.

The only two characters I'm playing right now are a throw barb and an archon wizard. Reflect is fine. Either up your physical resistance, your armor, your LOH, or stop mindlessly clicking on everything you see. Or even get an extra weapon to switch to for those.

Oh wait, but doing any of those would lower your sheet DPS and then people on forums won't be in awe of you.

    Quote from Litheum

I'd trade in all 10 of yours for less garbage loot.

I think a lot of your suggestions are good, but until they find a way to make it so a guy can go out and farm up some gear worth using, the game is not going to get better. Currently the only legitimate way to gear yourself is the AH. A game designed around a loot hunt should actually reward you with loot you can use.

Have you tried playing without using the AH? People are doing it. Did it occur to you that maybe the game wasn't supposed to be instantly beaten on Inferno as soon as you hit 60? It is currently easier than ever to faceroll through the game.

Let me make it more obvious: The more gear you buy from the AH, the harder it progressively becomes to find better gear. If instead you play without ever buying gear, you will find upgrades all the time. Honestly, the AH ruined the game for a lot of people. If it wasn't so easy to attain better gear, most people would be in blissful ignorance.

I prefer to play games the way they were designed. I know, its crazy.

Also, it is obvious by your tone, you just want to start arguments. People have different opinions than you, you don't have to get mad, sarcastic, and aggressive about it. I think the item hunt is badly designed, I think reflect damage is not tuned correctly compared to the other affixes. I am entitled to those opinions.

Drink some water, take a few deep breaths, and try not to get so upset over it.

Here's an old picture of what blizzard release date should have been http://tctechcrunch2...late-leaked.jpg . Titan shows that it will be release late 2013, but since blizzard procrastinate, it will probably be release 2014 along with new wow expansion (though it shows late 2013, they will probably push it for 2014 like they did with BC).

    That's not an official slate.

LOL seriously? Blizzard posted that up whether or not if it's official, AND why would they post that if they are gonna meet the date. The point is, the games that are coming out aren't meeting their due date. By any means it seems like you're really defending Blizzard though they procrastinate a lot, with no evidence. Prove to me that I'm wrong of what Blizzard posted about the games that are to be release. You've stated that the game will be release 2015 at the minimum, but that's not the point I'm making. I'm stating that by the chart Blizzard provided us, it should be late 2013, but we haven't had any videos or news about it except this one http://www.ubergizmo...0-team-members/ . Be rational with answer and maybe, just maybe, you'll get the point of what I'm saying.

It was not posted by Blizzard, it was supposedly (meaning rumored to be) the slate for all new games. It was found on some foreign site and was never even confirmed to actually be from Blizzard. The article you linked even clearly states it was a leaked product......

Blizzard never recognized it as official, Blizzard never posted it anywhere, it was never comfirmed to be legitimate.
Blizzard has never said or posted that Titam would be released in 2013.

I agree with your story assessment, but in terms of mechanics let's wait 3 years and see how well Diablo 3 evolves and then measure it against what the developers managed to do with Diablo 2 and its expansion. One reason for that: what most of us remember is _after_ all the glorious changes to Diablo 2 and we've mostly played the almost finished game for many, many years.

Great! Can i have my money back then? I'll pay them back in 3 years, you can even freeze or delete my characters :)
It's Blizzards fault for trying to develop a new bicicle and its really not my issue if they keep stumbling on same rocks all over again. All i wanted was Diablo 3, not an Auction House simulator with RPG elements.

In general, everything in D3 is built around monetizing. Even DRM is there to FORCE you to interact with Auction House. Each action, like nerfing and buffing, forces you to interact with AH. If you're interacting with AH, chances are, you will eventually join RMAH ranks.

I dont know why ppl are all acting as if spending some extra money on a game beyond buying it is the deadliest sin known to man with how many other games are doing it. Personally I have both made money of the RMAH and spent money on it and the way the game is now there is no way you would need to pay to play in any sense of the word.

Before farming pre paragon and nerfs was frustrating as fuck as the items dident quiet exsist back then for the average player now you just get 5 - 10mil and you can get a pretty decent toon that can at least do MP 1-2 and actually kill stuff without getting butt raped a´la corpse run to kill.

If ppl are honest with themselfs atm the only reason someone uses the RMAH now is to buy that one imba item that just make their farming easier or just to make dat deeeeeeeeeeeeeeps on their character sheet look "better" not because they cant farm A3 without investing in the RMAH like it was before because you were sick of diying, yes farming can be extremly frustrating never getting a item for yourself I know as well as anyone else here having personally sunk about 800 hours across my characters.

I personally LOVE the AH a place where you cant get scammed ? thank you! You do not need to be on the AH to trade just join your local trade chat and trade there instead, just be prepared to get ppl who either want to try to scam you or try to rip you off aka trying to buy cheap so they can sell for more. And for ppl who think AH is crap and that if you get scammed when not on AH that it´s your own fault I say why should I have to even think when trading with someone weather or not that persons intentions are good or not I don´t want to have to think about such things I simply just wish to have a good time when I game that is all. There is no way I would ever want it like it was in D2 where getting scammed was something you had to think about when trading with someone.

AS for the itemization I do agree having played Torchlight 2 that D3 still a lot to improve and change before it becomes any good, I still feel as well as there is still no incentive to play with anyone and that most of the time ppl are more likely to drag you down or be of no use when you play with them unless you are going to do hig MP lvl ubers.

The problem is not to use the RMAH or not, is the effect on the gameplay.

See, if Blizzard ever implements a well thought blacksmith, that would reduce the necessity of using the AH (RM or not), then it's just not possible, because, the rule number 1 is: maximize profit.

I just gave you one example, but there are tons. Why do you think that the only aspect customizable of your character are the items?, coincidence?, no, profit. Blizzard cant allow to have any other kind of customization (let say, skills) because that would reduce the need of using the AH -> lower revenue -> no-no.

See how the "you don't need to use the AH" is not really about the AH?.

I don't know how true this is, but it feels like it. It's easy for people to say "just don't use the AH! It's fun!", but to me thats just playing a fake game mode to try and make the game fun, like the guy who went and counted all the corpses in every area.....I bet that was fun for him, but not sure would work for everyone.....

If I said....."dude stop complaining, the games great, go count corpses!! it's fun!!!" I'm pretty sure thats not the same as saying the game design is great. I don't even think the time invested to get a decent item is that bad, it's all the garbage items you get along the way. I just want 1/10th the items, but 10 times the quality of drops. They could easily do this by removing some garbage stats (individual resits, HP globes etc.) and not letting more then 1 primary roll. About 1 in 10 instead of 1 in 100......but get 10 items in the time it took to get 100 before. Same number of decent items, less time unIDing trash.

I'm an "actual D2 player" - played D1 and D2 for many since their releases, and am in my 30s...

...and I think that D3 is technologically a step up from both games. But gameplay, no. It might beat D1 but doesn't come close to D2, in my opinion. D2 wasn't boring to me either, even before LoD.

And the story of D3 is just total shit. I could have written a better story putting a marker in-between my toes and spinning around on a large roll of wax paper completely drunk off my ass... and that's if you read it with the vomit still on the pages. The story is absolute trash.

And Diablo's voiceover is just completely terrible. People may say, "Oh, it' just a voiceover," but when you spent over a decade opening the seals of Chaos Sanctuary to hear the chilling, "Not even death can save you from me," the Diablo voiceover from D3 just doesn't cut it.

Let me not fail to at least mention the disaster that is itemization in D3.

So, you really think in 2012, with all these other games out there nailing it the 1st time.....with less development time......and a Company as experienced in RPGs and ARPGs and Diablo......it should take 3 years to get it right??
It should have been a much more polished and complete experience already. Blizzard already learned their lessons from D2, they shouldnt be making the same mistakes. And if they do, it shouldnt take 3 years to fix them.

I don't think Blizzard is the same as they used to be, they don't feel like they are putting in the same time and effort as they used to. They are judging their success based on subscription fees and the RMAH, and as long as they continue to be a billion dollar company, they are not going to implement a lot of the changes the game needs immediately, because to them the game is a huge success.

It's about quantity here, not quality. Which is not what I expect from Blizzard.

    Quote from Bagstone

@Litheum: Actually, when re-reading all the replies, I disagree with what you said. Especially Ignatius gave a lot of interesting insight from a Blizzard wizard point of view, and what Maka said was just plain right.

This build is really really interesting. It's certainly not very fast as it's a deviation of the original kiting builds. I like this and I would prefer someone would try to change it a little bit but still maintain the original idea instead of turning this into another CMWW spec.

Anyways, regarding the AP discussion that emerged: I played around with a Disintegrate build recently and figured that if you get a Stone of Jordan (or other legendary) with AP cost reduction for a specific spell, use Astral Presence and the 4 set piece bonus of Tal Rasha (just buy the cheapest 4 you can find, they're still good enough for playing around a bit) - you won't have any AP problems. You don't need APoC/CMWW, there are other ways to maintain builds that seem to be AP-heavy on first glance. As soon as you fall back on APoC, you also need CM, and then you also need WW, and... in the end you're just one in a million and your unique build idea is gone. And this would be a shame. Keep on trying!

The build Ive been using up until about 3 days ago required no APOC.
I also agree there are other builds that work without APOC, but I have not found any builds that give the versatility of spammable teleport, Time Warp, skin, and most of all nova, all while maintaining really high DPS and a ton of defense thru CM proccing LOH/LS and spammable diamond skin.

Maybe they exist, but I have been a wizard since the game started, tried alls kinds of builds, CM is really powerful right now.

posted a message on Which is better: Chantodo or Triumvirate
Hey all, just wanted to point out that a Triumvirate with APOC is really cheap.

I only say this because I was looking into a Chantados for a lot of the reasons above, but was going to lose a lot of DPS. So I searched for a triumvirate with APOC just to see and I found a really nice one that only lowered my dps 4k (@170k) and added 10 APOC for 10 Mil. (there were ones ranging from under a mil and up as well)

I know it doesnt have IAS, but its a great option for those not wanting to invest in the Chantados set yet, or dont have the funds.

posted a message on My Ice Wizard build for Inferno and beyond.
    @Maka & Ignatius

No one was bashing the OP anyway. People were telling him his build isnt that good. We are entitled to that opinion.
More specifically, most people were telling him he made a false statement. He declared:

"No matter HOW powerful you are or how fast you regenerate your arcane power. YOU RUN OUT...100% of the time..All the time..every time...You ran out like 3 seconds ago while reading this I swear and promise you did. So do not lie about it. lol."

So clearly he was misinformed, and since this is a forum for Wizards, with a lot of Wizards that know this statement is false, people tried to tell him he is wrong. And almost all of them suggested better options. In fact, JK gave him very specific help on making his "ice wizard" build.

You can get mad about it if you want, but if you come to an open forum, post false statements, talk about how effective your new build is, expect some people might disagree. This is true even if he was 100% correct, because at the end of the day, everyone has there own opinion. You are not adding anything to the discussion or making things better by getting on here and bashing everyone who had a differing opinion, and expressed it. Especially when not a single post in here was rude or mean towards the OP.........

EDIT: Also just wanted to point out, this thread was actually pretty constructive until you 2 came along causing drama. reread the replies closely, look at where the thread derailed. It wasnt JK, me or any other wizard trying to help the OP.

I'm actually not sure what you're asking me here. Those were all random thoughts not connected to each other. Are you asking about IAS items? All of those items you listed have IAS but you can also get it on your gloves, rings, amulet, Lacuni Bracers, Mempo of Twilight, Andariel's Visage, etc.

You said "There is all sorts of equipment that adds attack speed on pants, belt, and chest too."

All one sentence. I just wanted to clarify there are very few options, so the OP or anyone else did not try searching for items that dont exist.
You are correct about other items and IAS, but your sentence was misleading if thats what you meant to say. Just trying to clear things up for readers.....and ask if their are items I didnt know about....cuz I want them.

posted a message on Would you support splitting the diablo population into servers?
I think there are better ways of fixing the game.

Servers would reduce the number of items in the market, but would cost a whole bunch of other issues. Especially since the game discourages multiple characters so much.

In wow or similar MMOs, starting on a new server to be with friends makes sense because everytime you log in, you can find them in the game world, and do stuff together. In a linear game with 4 difficulties, it wouldnt make sense to do that, it would just be frustrating not being able to play with who you want. And the benefit is transparent.

To the average casual gamer logging in, they would not see the benefit of servers.....but would see the negative result when they tried to play with family and friends and cant.

posted a message on why no shields for wizards?
The reason I dont use a shield is simple.....my AR, amor and HP are more than enough to survive when you can free-spam diamond skin with CM.

You really dont get much benefit from 1400-2000 armor when you can constantly refresh skin.
The extra DPS on the other hand.......

That and APOC on sources is extremely beneficial......

Only way I would use a shield is if I was a new Wiz, a 10% crit shield would be a nice cheap way to get my crit where it needs to be, and add some defense until I could get my APS and crit where it needs to be to insta-proc CDs without the shield.
