Exactly what i was going to say, i really hope its a SPECIAL place, not just cuz its random with monsters and the layout, we have that in whimsyshire, its cool to go once or twice, but after that, rarely you want to go back to, since it isnt that worthy.
I hope Neph Rifts are special for any reason, being good exp, gold, drops, all of them, doesnt matter, even if you have to complete 25 bounties to get a Key...Make it special...Or it'll fall flat after a week.
Will agree with this. To me, the Nephalem Rifts should be the macro version of a treasure goblin. In other words, something that is good enough, and rare enough, that you will want to break your normal farming/bounty run to go knock it out. The way it felt at Blizzcon (rifts were always unlocked for testing), was you basically chose between either bounty or nephalem rift runs. -

With the primary/secondary system and smart drops, you have a good chance of not only rolling your primary stat in the first place, but that the other 2-4 primary stats are going to be "good". YMMV on good, but it won't be gold find and pickup radius.Quote from Efrye
Quote from Proof07Even if it has strength rolled as main stat, a wizard can use the mystic artisan to enchant the item and change the strength roll with an int one.
Then the wizard needs to have luck with the other 3 random magic properties being good because he can only change one of them. In my eyes the legendary loot is way too flawed.

Aug 21, 2012eman41 posted a message on Patch 1.0.4 Interview with Jay Wilson and Andrew ChambersWhy would anyone think the Paragon levels would be account wide?Posted in: News
Pre-1.0.4: "This game is too short, when you get to 60, there's nothing to do! Just farm gold and buy items until I can get through inferno! What happened to level 99?! That used to take forever and was a real accomplishment!"
Post-1.0.4: "What the hell this will take forever! I'll never be able to play any characters ever because Blizzard has forced me to level them one at a time to 100!"
Apologies on behalf of Blizzard for not calling the Paragon System levels 61-160. -

Welcome to Diablo, enjoy your stay. Or don't. It's up to you really.Especially considering I am only farming Act I so I can farm Act II, so I can farm Act III, so i can farm Act IV. -
Jun 19, 2012eman41 posted a message on Patch 1.0.3 Official Patch NotesPosted in: NewsI bet they are going to lose a lot of players on this one
Losing players from the game affects Blizzard....how? It's not a subscription game. It's about making most players happy, not keeping current players.
The only change I don't like is no items from destructible objects. You can still get them from chests, but your MF isn't considered. -

Diablo is not a subscription game. They really have no obligation to make any changes other than bug fixes after release. The balancing and overall improvements are because they want the game to be better for everyone.
If you can't get through Nightmare without the AH or farming, you might want to evaluate your play-style. -

I am probably reading way, WAY too much into this, but the comment Jay made about Hell Mode could be a little...concerning. I know Blizzard was saying that they want a lot of viable builds and for skills to be used equally, but in saying that it depends on his current build whether he can get through Hell or not (or at least implies it)...well, it sorta confirms what I was thinking. I know, I know...again, I am probably reading into this way too much, but I can't help but think that this could lead to difficulty tuning adjustments in terms of nerfs, and other things. That, and there could be potential for some skills to just not be used at all and more 'cookie cutter' style popping up. Not that it wasn't going to, but...yeah...just rambling now.
Suffice to say, I am hoping that if Blizzard does get a lot of complaining (which they inevitably will), that they stick to their guns and don't nerf Hell/Inferno and instead balance and tune potential skills and abilities that might be too underperforming and allow for more build diversity. Especially since Bashiok and others in the PR department have been really pushing those 'billons of builds' lately, even if in the end there will definitely not be that many that make it through. Here's hoping there are
*End incoherent rambling*
Actually you didn't think into it enough! This in all likelihood means that there are many packs in hell that clash with your current build and you won't be able to kill them without swapping in a different rune/skill. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Bingo.
Or play hardcore...recklessly.

Isn't starting new characters for ladder, pvp, and offline all just leveling a class? It seems like you just want Diablo 3 to have more ways that force you to re-level a character.

Dismissing...
...as not being "replayability" is absurd. The average gamer will accomplish (maybe) them by coming back to the game again and again over time. Maybe they play a WD to 70, do a little adventure mode, and then go play Titanfall for awhile. Then they come back to Diablo 3 and play a Crusader up to 70 and maybe try out some hardcore, rinse/repeat.
A game you may play for 3 straight months has no lengivity/replayability. Got it.

Was D1 a subscription game? It may shock people to know that everyone that bought D2 hasn't played it every day since 2000.

On different quality keystones:
- It feels like variety for the sake of variety. One type of rift that is suitably rare and provides a reward that makes diverting your normal game to complete is better than deciding whether or not a "low quality" rift will be worth it or not.
- Rifts that aren't random is a non-starter. One of the main goals of the rifts is to provide a completely random experience. Static stuff is better served as an event in the bounty system.
- Crafting or modifying rift keystones with existing rare mats (like pieces of the pony staff, for example), to lean a rift in a certain direction (maybe it's fiery or cold themed) could be neat.

Maybe there could be a guaranteed minimum number of each and then a pool of random ones. My strongest feedback: there should be more 'Den of Evil' type bounties (find dungeon, kill every monster) than 'Kill this guy' bounties.
Balancing rifts rewards/frequency is one of their top priorities if blue posts are any indication.
Edit: added some clarification.

Here's a page with that talk: http://diablo.somepa...-talk-available
This is likely why they haven't said much about Ladders. They know it's an important feature to the community, and they want to make it sure it is perfect and ready to go when they finally lift the curtain.

The idea of an "advantage" in a non-competitive, small group game is eh. I've been playing D3 pretty sparingly since the AH and RoS announcements since the game is going to be basically a whole new experience once release hits (or even 2.0.1).
