OK, I am sorry for repeating but I want to make sure I understand this right: there will be a committee, chosen based on requirements that will decide what members do or do not get access into the clan forum?
Well, I suggest a much higher post count than that of such a person like me. It should not be a super-secret club, with no girls allowed, but rather a large base for this forum to continue our Diabloing beyond text.
Requirements. For the committee it should probably be at least 500 posts as you pointed out in the other thread. and maybe 1000 for a higher up position. In essence I think the creator would decide how they scale on other requirements such as being respectable, not being spam bots, trolls, and how well they have contributed to the site as of now. And they would need to be fairly active in the community obviously.
Would this committee also help moderate the forum?

Ah, and spam moderation would have to be very strict to prevent what we see as a problem in all the other areas of the forums. Not to say that you guys aren't trying in the current forum situation, but we really want to avoid spam in a forum whose purpose is to be anti-spam.

And this might be kind of lame, but how about you call the new forum "Travincal" in light of the new ranks? The majority of the members would probably be council members/heirophants (spell check?), so it would seem fitting.

Same here. Ever since about july of 07 i've been on just about everyday reading(although i didn't start posting till this April). I love the idea just in that it will be very well moderated and no spam will be able to get in. And the prospect of avoiding another fiasco like with the teaser is awesome to me. Since it will be some what exclusive people wont be able to just create an account and spam there way through the forum with such a thing as Rick Astley in the center of ice with a middle finger underneath spammed about 6 times with the person saying "look i figured it out!!!"

And this might be kind of lame, but how about you call the new forum "Travincal" in light of the new ranks? The majority of the members would probably be council members/heirophants (spell check?), so it would seem fitting.
There was a fully discussion about it in the *New Site Suggestions* thread. It would not entirely be based on post count. Post count would just be the first threshold of defense. The next would be join date (maybe), and then after that they must submit an application to whoever would be on the moderation council for the forum.

aww man. BOOO for join date, ive had like 3 accounts on here since mid 07 i think and i could never post till md helped me out, so i hope its not held against me.
What kind of stuff would be in the forum? Anything that differs from the current one? And also, would there be a fallout of a sorts, if the clan gets tons of members and everyone starts posting all the good threads in the clan forum what happens to the current forums? Or would it be for only clan related subjects?

I don't know, I'd leave it completely to the committee. I'd gladly have USANBC in and he barely has any posts and joined recently, and good posts are hard to come by with all this spam.
It wouldn't be a real gaming clan (like SICK), it would be a forum clan, which has not gaming obligations. The only obligations you'd have are to meet said goals for entry, and then to not act like an idiot and spam/off topic the hell out of the forum.
And if you read the thread I suggested, I believe Elfen said it would be like a month (on the join date issue.) Dunno if that's going to change or even be implemented, though.

Correct. That is how they work. A select few (primarily high posters and well respected members of the populus are assigned the task of granted or denying applicates entry to the clan forum.
This won't evolve in to another actual clan/guild, will it? It's for exclusive discussion privileges only?
It's primary function is to provide an area for discussion free of spam and flood. It may spill into games, but I imagine it will stay here and only here. It is not like the Silver Inferno Crusading Knights (SICK).

You are free to suggest whatever restrictions you want, though as I told you before, it is post count dependant, if you feel 500 is too small, suggest 1000 for example. I cannot institute a restriction based on gender, sorry. Girls have as much right to be a part of this as boys. Some of most well respected members here are infact female.

That is usually why you have a secondary (while not properly enforced in anyway) requirement, which is generally based on activity, it is usually a month.

They would yes. They would also hold the power to send you to the burning Hells, I mean kick you out, if the felt you were no longer a valued member of the clan.

Right, let's suppose the clan forums are to be done through th formation of a comitee. How many members do we think this comitee needs? I'd say about 10 members. I'd leave it for Jetrall and Elfen to decide on them.
Onto requirements: well personally I'd say 500 posts is ok, will take me some time to get there but oh well life's harsh anyway. Hm dunno if it's possible but could it be invitation only? I think it would be nice and not too hard for you mods if people were invited to this forum only once a month, so that there was plenty of time for the comitee to discuss on the members to be invited, etc.
I'm telling you, the fairest proposition is that of a committee. Maybe five or so senior members that review the applicants previous posts and then vote on their eligibility.

It is kinda invitation only. The committee has to approve you.
For the committee (not the forum) I'd say 1000 posts at least and 3 months. For the committee members, again.
