A few things I have noticed in this thread:
1. The whiners ignore any posts with logic and reason in them. (See my blizzcon post from earlier)
2. The whiners are insanely weak... really blizz slapped you in the face?
3. The whiners voted probably voted for Obama since nothing is fair and they want everything that someone else has.
4. The whiners are the same people who probably bought items from websites in D2 because drops weren't fair.
5. I have an account with feat of strength and leet sigil for sale if you douches want it LOL.

They are by no means whiners, and its a little insulting to call them that. A game that EVERYONE here has been waiting for, and only some get the sigils. The FoS is w/e noone really cares imo. The sigil is what I found odd about this. Giving us something that stands out on our flags that other hardcore fans can never get. (and there was nothing they could do to get it, unlike blizzcons and such).. its an odd move. Im still shocked by it myself.
So FoS, really no big deal
The sigil.. Its.. I dunno. I was surprised thats for sure.

why does a sigil matter? will it anger you to see it if you dont have it and somehow ruin your gaming experience?

Does it matter if it will anger them or not? does it matter if it adds to the gaming experience or not?
Some of those people have been just as hardcore of a Diablo fan as me. Those people have been waiting for this game none stop as long as me. Those people have been searching these forums every day trying to get all the news and jucicy info they could because they just can't wait to play this game.
Some of those people have made sure they have been unlocking every one of those class sigils because they want to have everything they can ingame. People love this game, they want to get everything they possibly can.
its hard enough on them already that they couldnt be in the beta as long as the rest of us.
There is no reason for the sigil. The only thing it does it makes those same hardcore fans feel left out. They can never get all the sigils like us, even tho they have been following the game for just as long.
I understand the whole idea of "random is random" ...ect But this just seems very odd.
Like I said, a FoS is a great idea, np with that. Just the sigil is a little far imo.
Eh, honestly it isn't a big deal. I am super excited as much as the next person to play an, I spent my 30 seconds getting the sigils and the time to read the stories and all the books, but really if I wasn't getting the FoS and sigil, I'd be kinda sad for like 20 seconds then I start playing and forget all about it cuz who cares. Nobody will ever really notice it.

Molster pretty much sums up my thoughts on this matter. I understand from Blizzard's angle what they were up to with this, a nice little commemorative piece for those lucky enough to get into the Beta to have for posterity sake. However, at the same time I cannot agree with the idea of the sigil, and somewhat question the FoS as well as to me it seems a bit...out of place. Some people are taking it way too over the top with some of their posts basically being nothing but QQ, while others are expressing their disappointment in this in a more constructive way and I feel for them. This is something that, while the intentions may have been good...it really wasn't that well thought out IMHO.
I can definitely see how it looks like Blizzard is pretty much rewarding those lucky few that 'won the lottery' with even more stuff, as if their 'winnings' weren't enough already. And let's face it...I don't think it's too far to go out on a limb and say that 90% of the Beta participants hit the RNG jackpot and got in that way. That right there was more than enough of a reward for them; to play in the closed Beta for MONTHS, to provide a lot of feedback to Blizzard about bugs and other things, to try out a lot of what Blizzard offered to them, and many other things. And don't get me wrong, I am GLAD for those Beta testers and for those that did a lot of bug submitting and voicing community concerns, I and many other grateful others appreciate it a lot. However, to those who have been following this franchise faithfully for so many years and didn't have the RNG on their side...again...I can understand how they feel slighted, stung, slapped in the face, whatever.
IMHO, I think Blizzard didn't think this one through enough and sometimes it boggles me why they do these things that they know will get the hornets' nest stirring. Just like they've done with the Skill UI, the Battletag thing, and again this...does make me wonder at times. As for me...I didn't get in the closed beta even once, so I will not have this FoS or the sigil, and I honestly don't mind that, but again, I can understand and sympathize and agree with those who aren't happy with this to a degree.
Yep because the people that got invited to the closed beta put in so much more effort than us poor saps that entered every contest and scrambled to get on the open beta for 3 days to help stress test the servers.. *cough*
People here are so quick to pull out their 'whiner' cards, jeez. The value of things like this are purely subjective, and you ladies that call out 'QQ' don't seem to understand that. One man's trash is another man's treasure, blah blah blah. Why does it even matter enough for you all to speak up against people that have a problem with this? Why so upfront and callus?
Ya gotta take it from a seemingly high ground point of view while disguising a back hand into it. I mean, if I were to troll, I'd say something like..... "SWEET! I've played WoW for 3 nonconsecutive months paying one for 1 and never gave any other money to Blizzard and didn't really care if I got the beta but did anyways, and now I have a... sigil? What's that? Oh...it's that thing for your banner, isn't it? Cool, but I probably would never use it anyways, actually, I'll probably never customize my banners and leave them as is. I'd throw it away, or trade it in for $.10 if I could." Something like that.
But really, if you guys need to get all your negativity out, there's much better ways, like making fun of members that have super emo pics of themselves as avatars. You know the kind, some kid looking sad with hair over one of his eyes, that kind. (#163)

"The Unchosen" Pain of Admirance Sigil (For those without -Feat of Strength-):
So no matter what I can never get this Sigil because I was not "Chosen" by blizzard, kind of unfair. There is nothing special about these people, they were chosen at random. There was no "feat of strength" by killing a hardcore boss, or playing the open beta for over ten hours, or anything like that; it was more of a "hey I tripped and fell and found a penny". Which in the real world this happens all the time, people find pennies, but blizzard is giving these people a prize because of it and to me that just doesn’t seem right. Not only that but even some people that found a penny didn't even bother to download the beta and play it, wait, crap now I'm mixing my analogies up... Well you guys get my point.
I was accepted into the closed beta, so I'm getting the feat of strength and the sigil. That being said, I'm very surprised by this move by Blizzard.
When I got my beta invite late 2011, I was so stoked. I was fortunate enough to be one of the few chosen before they sent out the mass 100,000 and 250,000 invites and was able to play the beta for quite literally months. To me, that was reward enough and I did not expect anything else. To my knowledge, Blizzard has NEVER given out a cosmetic award for participating in ANY OTHER BETA (though I'll admit, I could be mistaken).
So, I'm quite surprised by this move by Blizzard. I can't exactly complain because I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate. Not only did I get to taste the game several months before most, I'm also getting special recognition for doing so. However, a friend of mine was invited during their 100,000 player invite. He quite literally logged on once, essentially told me he after playing that he's more excited for Torchlight 2, then never played again. The fact that someone like him is getting special recognition when others never got the chance does irritate me. The fact that people that literally never even so much as downloaded the client or logged in are getting rewarded when people that would have loved to participate, let alone receive a reward, are getting the shaft. That bugs me.
I definitely sympathize with those that are upset. At this point, I can only count my blessings and be thankful that I was one of the lucky ones. I love this game and I'm more excited about it than any other game since probably Final Fantasy VII. However, just because I got lucky doesn't make it suck any less for those that weren't.

Oh pitiful shadow lost in the darkness,
Bringing torment and pain to others.
Your damned soul wallowing in your sin.
Perhaps... it is time to die.
Can someone explain why have a non-gameplay related sigil or FoS is worth having? If its the concept of "I want to acheive everything and get all the acheivment points"....... you still can. Personally, I think the game is going to be way too challenging and random to get every acheivement anyway.
If the concept of not having every single sigil really bothers you, I think you need to take a break from the game. Its not like you can use more than one.
I am surely not going to be using any non-gameplay sigil once I acheive something that speaks to my progress.
Are you?
In summary, to complain about a nice gesture Blizzard made to the beta testers (who did help the game finish) over a sigil and a FOS seems very very very petty.
Those of you rubbing salt in the wounds......good luck succeeding in life. Your kind ends up getting what you deserve..trust me.

the fact that your calling it a wound is just pathetic. no ones rubbing anything in they are merely stating the truth, how it doesnt matter. your "kind" ends up getting stomped on your entire life because you get butt hurt so easily and "life isnt fair wahhh wahhh".

I think you misinterpreted my post, Im not whining. However the type of person that takes joy in others pain do get what they deserve. 30 years in public safety as evidence to that fact.
I don't agree with you on the FoS aspect (admittedly because I'll be getting it), but as for a sigil? Yes, that seems to be going a bit farther than anyone could have thought, especially after it was implied that beta testers would not be getting anything special for having been in the closed beta. At least, I know I was surprised.
In any case, I do agree that -- from our perspective, since no one has telepathy -- this whole matter could've used some more thought.

What about all of the people who start playing D3 after the 8th or only learn of the game after the 8th? Because they are in the same boat with the Reveal Sigils. Funny though you don't hear people making a big deal about that, because they personally aren't being excluded from something.
This is nothing new. The CE Sigil, the Reveal Sigil, and the Beta Sigil are all granted exclusive to certain people for doing certain things. Some are luck, some are effort and some are monetary. To cry foul in one case and one case only is why they are whiners. Most of the people have made statements that indicate it is about Beta Testers getting something rather then simply an exclusive Sigil. Few have been about exclusive rewards, but that will be true through out all of D3.
Whats next saying its valid that Blizzard should nerf Inferno because not everyone can beat it to get that sigil? When is it whining?
There is no reason for the sigil. The only thing it does it makes those same hardcore fans feel left out. They can never get all the sigils like us, even tho they have been following the game for just as long.
So it is about being an elitism in the end. Why should only hardcore fans be reward with class sigils? Why shouldn't everyone that plays the game get the chance to unlock them? Why is it that only "hardcore" fans as you call them are the deserving ones of having everything and anything?
Where do we draw the land onf pandering? You and 99% of the other hardcore fans didn't get a legendary to drop. Its only fair everyone gets it. You and 60% of the hardcore fan's didn't complete Inferno but its only fair that you all get the inferno Sigils/loot/rewards.
You aren't some special snowflake just because you've followed the game for years, or are highly interested in it. You don't deserve something just because you think you deserve it.
