I just played Heroes V the other day for the first time, and I must say I think it's amazing. The fourth game was a let-down from Heroes III, but V pretty much took everything that was good in the third game, and what was good from the fourth, and put it all together in a masterful combination.
I've only played a little hot-seat so far in regards to multiplayer, but I do like the campaigns, especially now that they've not just linked scenarios but actually have something that separates them from regular maps such as maps without towns and simply evading enemy heroes.

- the AI is very slow. In a TB game like this, it gets pretty annoying to sit there and wait for the AI to decide on something. HoMM III AI was much faster. Warlords IV had this same problem;
I may not be the greatest strategy player, but isn't the AI worse that in the third? Last custom map I played, the AI hadn't even built Gryphons when I took over his city, and I was running around with Green Dragons.
This was on normal, haven't tried anything harder yet, but I can't imagine this happening in Heroes 3 :confused:

- the music is pretty bad. Written by the same guys, but I replaced half the tracks with music of my own choice >>_<<.
I wouldn't say it's that bad, I like some of the battle music a lot, but it could have been better, that's for sure. Perhaps some Heroes 3 music might do the trick
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Heroes IV was poorly made. Too many bugs and the maps were badly made. Needed a lot of patches to finish the game.

Actually, whenever I played Heroes III I only used the Hard settings. But I would usually have a harder time winning if I tried at medium. Go figure. I can't imagine the AI to having been constructed so differently.

Don't get me started. Town songs in HoM&M2 were great. I can remember staying in town intentionally longer so I could hear a bit more. Oh, the battle music in III was the shit. The original CD auto-plays the songs if you place them in a receiver/non computer CD-platyer.

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Whoever hasn't played Disciples 2 should probably go play it. It's not nearly as popular as HoMM, but it's incredibly well done. It's beautiful for being 2d and when Disciples 3 hits, I'm sure you'll enjoy it even more, yes, more than any HoMM ever.

Agreed. But what could have been good but wasn't, meaning heroes on the battlefield, main skills and subskills, alternate upgrades to creatures among others, was indeed very well done in the fifth. That's what I meant.

The battle music in the third was awesome, I completely agree. Too bad I can't find my HoMM3 disks anywhere.
