I know they're incomparable, but when SC2 was announced the fans got way more visual treatment in 6months than we have so far!I know that some of u will be sayin that they're way different games and what counts for one doesn't count for the other.true.but if SC2 could show off way more than d3 (and SC2 fans are already two years in waiting) what does that say bout d3?how far off are we? 2011? 12?I don't mean to be negative about it, but its a sore reality!but on a more positive note, maybe why its so quiet on the blizzard front is cuz they're working super hard to give us a major blizzcon update!just one more thing. everytime we complain, the release date gets pushed further and further away.
I'm both a diablo fan and Starcraft fan so I think they're great games (looking good) but I agree that they're incomparable

I guess the lack of information is caused by tne fact that the process to devemlop starcraft is totally different from diablo.
In diablo whenever they creat something new to the game, or change something already created, they have to go back and change all the stuff connected to this new features. Ex: they changed the skill system, so they must go back and fix all the skill tree of al character, wich surely changes ALOT of numbers in their calculations, so they gotta change items, monster, runes etc...
Thats why they don't want to reveal alot of info, because everything can drastically change. Thats why the major amount of info we have is about the idea of the game, how they want it to be (lot of itemization, good multiplayer, no rushing, etc..).

You're right on one account- they are completely incomparible. Completely different styles and genres.
Let's go through everything we've gotten for Diablo III in less than a year so far: characters, lore, a boss, a complete skill tree, most of the skill trees of two other classes, gameplay videos, and constant (and I mean constant) feedback from representative personnel(we get new articles basically every day). That's far more than I can say for SCII.
The only thing SCII has on Diablo III right now is that its beta is coming, but that's to be expected since it has a larger development team than Diablo III and was announced two years ago.
well i think both are gonna have something near an equal player base
there are those unfortunate souls who dont like diablo
and SC2 even though it probaly isnt as hyped as diablo 3 is
isnt gonna be no slouch either, i mean blizzard is making it! XD
they havent got back into making RTS for years so its gonna be awesome i think
also itll be good to get for that year wait till diablo 3 comes out
on the other hand making the new diablo isnt the same as making SC2
Diablo 2 had a lot of margin of error since it contains more content than a RTS would
balancing is not gonna be easy for a RPG like diablo ,but it isnt anywhere near easy for a RTS either. just i believe it would be harder for diablo 3 to balance than for SC2 to since SC2 has a basic layout already there
they arent changing all that much from SC1 as a lot of their past units they are reusing
but D3 is making 4 new classes so far all with different skills and are supposed to be different than past classes so they can reuse them maybe in the future xD
so with both games being made at the same time
diablo 3 just sounds like it has more improvements being made to it then SC2
but i think they are making the same effort and improvements on both games lol
i mean the terran got heavy infantry now unlike in SC1 lol
and we got a witch doctor in diablo! xD

While some people like to scrutinize Diablo 2 for it's imbalances, its a very small chunk of the player population due to it's casual nature. StarCraft and Starcraft 2 on the other hand are highly competitive games played by professional players globally. If any game is going to be scrutinized for imbalances, it's most certainly going to be StarCraft 2. And believe me, those professional players are going to be infinitely more brutal than any of us are.

They are incomparable the two games, one is a RTS and the other a RPG, its like comparing Age of Empires to Oblivion or something.
