It would be the same graphics-wise on any nex-gen game system besides the Wii, so I'm guessing you mean control-wise? In that case I'd like to point again (again) that at least the PS3 has more than enough USB ports for a mouse and keyboard, allowing for playability the same as on a PC. The Xbox 360 doesn't have USB ports, but there might be some hardware upgrade you can buy for it that let's it have them- not sure about that.
It's been mentioned before but Blizzard should stick to their areas of expertise. They know how to make good PC games, no one denies that. They would have to bring in an entire new production staff to switch it over to any console not to mention the control issues everyone has touched on. It just doesn't seem like it would be a good financial move unless they seriously advertise the game on TV like all the other console games.
I bolded the Xbox 360 portion of the post. Not the PoS3.
SO were both right this time...
But only 1 in the rear. There is however two in the front
...:necro:
I am sick of hearing people downplaying the PS3. The PS3 can handle Diablo III, but I wouldn't want it. Diablo should stay on the PC, put starcraft ghost on the console. PS3 on the other hand has already incorporated the Keyboard and mouse before, and I think you still can.
I love my PS3 and unlike all my poor friends with a 360's who have replaced there 360's atleast once and already have the "3 rings of death" again, I will never have to replace mine.
It was also nice not having to pay to play online, and the built in wireless saved me an additional $100... Oh yeah and that usb port on the back is probably being used by your wireless add on...
I don't really see why it's so hard to imagine a console D3. From a technical perspective, the 360 and the PS3 can definitely handle what we've seen in the gameplay video.
As for controls: put different skills on the 4 shoulder buttons and let the D-Pad switch between sets of skills. Left joystick moves, right joystick aims. You've still got 4 face buttons, select / start and the joystick-in buttons for things like the map, inventory, character sheet, zoom-toggle, etc. Getting potions out of the picture is particularly helpful for a console control scheme.
Some concession would probably have to be made for how aiming skills work, but.. really.. it's not that difficult to imagine it being pretty decent.

Well the two ports in the front are perfectly enough for 1 mouse and 1 keyboard, those are "usually" not occupied.
Just saying PoS3 downplays it? I like my little word plays, lol...
BTW I had a launch console and never had a RROD, no bs.
Diablo 3 would be on 360 for the following reasons.
1. Easier to port over. (More time working on PC version)
2. Xbox Live far superior to any other consoles online system.
Microsoft could make an update for 360 to accept compatible keyboards and mice very easily. Or someone could make a mouse/keyboard especially for the 360, wireless, and using ZERO usb ports.
I say porting to consoles would only be worth it if they could let PC gamers and Console gamers play together in same games and everything. If all of your friends had console version of Diablo 3, and you had the PC version, and you could not play together, that would SUCK.
But like I said earlier (like page 3?) I love Fable 2 already, but I will wait for PC version to play

I don't know a great deal about how the thing would work on a lot of the new consoles, I just think it would be an interesting idea. That being said, I think yes, the top priority should be to complete it on PC then they can work out the bugs for consoles if they see fit. And secondly, I think that if the consoles are to have a shot at success, they have to be able to merge with the computer players online.

Nothing happens to you, but everything happens for you.
no! I have bad similar memories of that. When i was younger a couple of loner n00b friends were playing runescape and one of them found the diablo II demo (which btw is really terrible, and should'nt have been released) and they said that diablo II was just simply terrible when it really isnt and its just because they didnt know how to play. I asked them about the skill tree and they had no idea what i was talking about... So anyway the same goes for releasing it on a counsole, the whole orientation of the game must be changed, all the controls and it would just change the whole point of the game. Also N00b loner kids that have never played a good PC game and only have an xbox would buy it for there xbox since they probably wont even have a powerfull enough computer to run it, and obviously most of the games key features would be changed and they would just say it sucks. Besides those counsoles are mostly for fps games.
Which leaves me to my next thought.
CALL OF DUTY 4 IS NOT THE BEST FIRST PERSON SHOOTER OUT THERE. If u think it is then your probably just a (graphics first!) n00b gamer or u just havent tried any other games such as CS:S or TF2 or even DoD:S.
The only way that i would say Yes! is if they would allow u to use a mouse and a keyboard to play it. If not then no. and i seriously doubt they will do that simply because all the PC fps and 3ps freaks would totally pwn n00b's that use gamepads for shooters :S.

Working with adobe and/or java is like pushing a paper clip against a building and expecting it to move...
In the gameplay video the narrator says "Diablo 3 is so simple in fact, That it can be played with just the mouse"... When he said this I instantly thought of a controller... An average mouse has 2 buttons and a scroll bar... An Xbox 360 controller has 18 buttons (Including the Gamepad directions and Joy stick clickers) And two joysticks... Now if Diablo 3 can be played with just a mouse... Then cant Diablo 3 be played with just a controller? (Of course I prefer Keyboard and mouse). To close, I think that it is definitely POSSIBLE. But is it really worth it?

I'd expect that if they threw it onto the console, they'd have to turn it into more of a first person game. I couldn't see you controlling the arrow with the joystick, since that would just be annoying. To see Diablo III as a first person game would actually be worth playing... from what I think.

For some reason, first person's all that came out. I meant the perspective that, lets say, Gears of War has. I think that's 3rd person, can't really recall.

All D3 assets are designed to be viewed from a set angle. The 'other side' of the objects that you cannot see either does not exist or is not textured. They would have to remake all assets from scratch, put more detail in since the view has shifted much closer, and give up the randomization (the fact that you can see things from one angle only being the reason - didn't you ever wonder how steps in a wall can only be facing northeast or northwest in D2?)

When anyone creates a console game, they always have to start from scratch.

Yeah, some pc gamers may feel like their pride is being attacked, but I know PS3s can play computer games, I've seen a Youtube video of someone playing D2 with a Wii, and I'm sure you can get stuff to work on the xBox as well.
I agree with you there... a lot of complaints would probably be thrown about if the games were to be thrown onto consoles.
XBox 360 is compatible with PC games, you just have to do the illegal and mod your hard drive. I have someone that plays a few PC only FPS games.

Umm, very very wrong my friend, there is 2 usb ports in the front, and I belieave two in the rear.
I use my usb ports all the time. lol...
I have 4 in the front because I bought the 80 GB one. Very wrong, my friend

Final Fantasy 7
