i downloaded that diablo 3 beta client just to see what it looked like and it updated and everything but when i click play (to see the login screen instead of the client) it says: "we have detected that your video card is not supported by diablo 3 beta. Operating system: Windows 7 service pack 1. video card: Intel(R) HD graphics family"
any idea how i can get it to work? im pretty sure this laptop is capable of running i have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M and a i7 quad core just for gaming. please help
thanks
To be able to play you need 2 things:
1. A battle.net account with an active Diablo III beta licence.
2. A system configuration that's compatible to the Diablo III beta client.
More configurations are likely to be added later on for the beta (with upcoming patches), but till the patches are up, those with a configuration not compatible won't be able to run the client.
Is that the official client sent by blizzard or is that the leaked one? If it is the official one then you want to do is instal SP3.
Remember to get the client t work and load up the game your battle.net account have to be flag for the beta. Your friends or Family member if they work at blizzard should of sent an invitation to your account.
i guess hopefully the problem solves itself soon just because its the beta still. i downloaded the one that says no viruses or whatever and had a link on the front page in Diablo III Beta Client Leaks from sixen. it seems legit the websites all work and everything hopefully they just update it so itll work. when i check for updates for my drivers doing the right click on my computer manage thing and checking it says its up to date so i dont think thats it but again i'm not sure
In the OP's particular case, sounds like the Beta client looked only at the active video card and ignored the switchable graphics capability. Wonder if anyone with switchable graphics has the beta working.
same issue for me
It's because you have 2 videocards in your laptop, discrete(Ati or Nvidia) and integrated(intel HD)
Nvidia videocard consumes more power of your laptops battery than Intel HD, so when you run something that needs good videocard, your laptop will switch them automatically.
I think blizz will fix that later for our laptops
If you want to run D3 now, you need to make your discrete videocard to be "used always"
I think you should upgrade the drive of your NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M video card , and then the blizzard system can recognize your card in stead of thinking it is inter(R) graphic HD Family
I did one of 3 things
1) Updated to latest .07318 BETA
2) Updaated NVIDIA Graphics driver
3) Load defaults option through BIOs
how do you do that 3rd thing? cause i just updated mine and i did the right click on my computer and look for updates and there were none. it still does pop up for me when i try to go in but i can click no now and it puts me in the game but on a lower resolution where it doesnt use my full screen

Going into BIOS it varies between computers/laptops usually they have a thing telling you to press F2 for setup or F12 for BIOS. There is a Load Bios Default setting on the last page?
Where you see
1) Save Changes
2) Discard Changes
3) Save and exit with changes
4) Load bios default

Try downloading the latest graphics card drivers, that might do the trick.

Don't worry it will get sorted out by them if your card is capable of running it.
Need to find out how to do that LOL
Looks like I won't be playing at work until the fix...
