After farming up an entire tab of legendaries, I came to the conclusion that almost all of them are useless before RoS. 2 out of 3 CC/CD/AS legendary rings and amulets, socketed 1 hand weapons, and set items are ok. But that's about it. Unfortunately, the game is incomplete at level 60 due to the lack of Enchanting, so most items will be trashed as only a single property can be re-rolled.
In this video I briefly go through the items I found and explain why they're mostly useless, why legacy gear along with crafted Archon rares is the best option until RoS, and why there's really nothing to do but grind XP.
That depends on how far along in the game you are.
If you had loads of awesome gear and almost maxed all your paragons pre-patch, then sure, they might be crap. But for those of us who didn't get to that point, they are still awesome. All except one legendary I've found so far, has been an upgrade for me. In some cases even a huge upgrade. And they will continue to be awesome until day 1 of RoS. Why? Because until I ding 61 in the new areas, they are far from useless. They are worth the time and effort I spent getting them. But when I ding 61 I will be finding even better gear. And then they will be replaced. Then they will be (mostly) useless. Only then, not now...
To an extent, yes. However, in the video I showed the rares I crafted. Crafted rares are currently better than most legendaries unless you get real lucky and the legendaries roll high. Statistically speaking it's cheaper and quicker to craft Archon rares for shoulders, chest, gloves, maybe even 6 prop helm/boots/belt, get rare rings with primary/vit/CC, craft ammy, and use a legacy lifesteal weapon.
This morning I found one upgrade to my LS weapon - 3% damage and 2% toughness boost ... but no LS. So I'm still sticking to the 'ez mode' weapon until RoS. Why make the game harder for yourself?

Because a challenge can be fun? Whats the point of even playing right now if you're not a fan of the drops, why not just wait until RoS?
I disagree with the premise, so I'll divert a bit. You say:
"n this video I briefly go through the items I found and explain why they're mostly useless, why legacy gear along with crafted Archon rares is the best option until RoS..."
but finish that with:"and why there's really nothing to do but grind XP"
That assumes that acquiring legendaries is done in place of grinding exp. But you will likely fnd legendaries in the course of grinding exp, and in some cases they will be better than rares (especially if you are a new character or transitioning from Master to Torment+). So calling legendaries "useless" is something that doesn't hold that much meaning. There are too many threads about the relative quality/dro rates of items which are, by design, the most random things in this game.
I must be missing some connection here or something.
Legendary items are not useless until RoS. Will they be better when RoS is live, that is a big yes. But that is more to do with loot 2.0 was designed to work well with RoS but it still works nicely in the Vanilla Game. A lot of the Legendaries are fun items and some are not really meant to be as end game uber items. Some are designed for odd builds or fun builds that might only work on Master difficulty but can still be fun to play with.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
What @Ambrodelsaid. I just came back after a year hiatus due to not liking the game the way it was made then. I like what they're doing now, so I came back. I am finding upgrades when I play now. Yes, _finding_ upgrades. The legendaries I am finding are mostly useful, which is great. At some point, yeah, that will slow down, but I don't have 350k dps and 1.2m toughness. I stopped right before they released paragon levels.
If you want to get in the semantics of pointless I could say don't play RoS either because if there is going to be another expansion after that, so everything you find is just useless until the FINAL expansion.....

Well, I don't think that's an accurate analogy. You can't ignore the fact that the next expansion is a week away, and the one after that could be two years away (assuming there is one.) It makes a difference.

2 weeks away, but whos counting
...Apparently not I haha. I mush have swapped in the date for the AH closure.

I understand what you're saying. The tab of legendaries I found was through grinding XP, but some areas seem to drop more legendaries (Core of Arreat for example) than others, although it hasn't been 100% proven, yet people farm specific areas which may have higher drop rates or more elites or whatever it is in hopes of legendaries, at the expense of XP/hour.
Also remembered that you need a Forgotten Soul to reroll, so assuming your lvl70 legendary sucks and you salvage it, then and only then can you reroll. But by then the item you find will probably be better or you'll find a superior rare in most cases.
Ultimately there isn't that much harm in people familiarizing themselves with the new legendaries, how loot works, finding a clan, grinding some XP, and potentially upgrading their stats for release night.

You play because it's fun, or grind for exp, or learn the changes etc... Finding legendaries is just a by product of playing the game... you know what it should have been all along. Sorry for not making my earlier statement more obvious, I'm not sure how a QQ about gear being useless before an expansion even deserves a post. Just a post for "give my channel views" I suppose.

Learning to use the new systems, mechanics and item/skill effects IS important.
For HC players; Many of the new mechanics and affixes are making life great while trying to avoid permanent death. I plan to roll a HC Crusader on day 1. Though I may be on a serious learning curve regarding the class itself, I will have learned much about the new systems etc etc.
So your theory about "nothing to do but grind" is just you projecting your personal feelings on to us. "We" all play for different reasons with differing styles and goals. Yours apparently is straight softcore efficiency and racing to the proverbial top.
I expect Ladders to be announced any day now. Off go your lot to that ridiculous "race" against the unemployed and armies of XP bots.

I've been expecting that since the 50% XP buff. There's no way they're going to basically tell people like Kongor to go grind 912038290138021983 paragon levels in a week and not be offering some kind of opt-in reset in the near future.
I wish the diablo playerbase learned the difference between the concepts of "useless" and "not being the absolute best in every situation".
Specially some of the higher end players, who don't realize that kind of toxic attitude and statment is responsible for misleading most of the less fortunate playerbase into hating the game without even knowing why (or without even having reason to do so, because they never reach that point in the game about which they hear so much crap).

It's really a shame =/
The former gets views, clicks, subs, etc., and it also gets the few thousand idiots who follow you on a routine basis whipped up in a frenzy, just waiting rabidly for your next scathing critique.
"I'm having so much fun with <game>" only goes so far. PoE did wonders for Kripp for a while, but the reality is that if you're going to make money being a professional gamer you really need a competitive game. It's boring to watch some guy who has 20x the time to play games that you do crushing content that isn't even remotely challenging due to his massive time investment. It's neat to see a video of Mannercookie getting 4 billion XP/hr in his CotA group, but that's a pretty small time investment. But, realistically, very few people actually want to watch that kind of gameplay for extended periods of time.
So, among the professional gamers, there has to constantly be some new thing. Without that new expansion, new game, or whatever you have no revenue stream. To that extent the "OMG GAME SO BAD BLIZZ NUBS I COULD MAKE A BETTER GAME WIT MY ASS THAN JAY WILZON COULD MAKE EVAR" hyperbole is nothing more than a marketing ploy to get people to click on their videos and watch their streams. It's no different than the local news stations hyping up the weather to get people to tune in at 10 PM.
The way to get people to check out the new thing? Talk shit about the old thing. Peer pressure at its finest. You don't want to be the last kid on the block to own a Chinpokomon, right?

It's torture.
I actually sold all my gear to fund RoS, so I got at least a bit more enjoyment out of the patch than most.
