Hey, I was wondering what it is more productive to farm for both legendaries and EXP. Right now, I am farming the Heart of the Sin quest because of the massive number of elites vs the small area and time it takes to farm.
I was just wondering if anyone thinks there is a better place to be farming or if Act 4 is best to try to get legendaries.

i thought that but i can clear 1 level of the quest and get a 5nv stack. and then i can clear the rest of the quest in about 20mins. i think the number of elites per minute is better concentrated in that small area.

Act3 is what I haer from people. The number of elites you can plow through in a short time period there is fairly nice over all. As long as you have the gear to clear it that is. I am still slacking in that area so I reverted to an earlier act to rinse and repeat. Hopefully with a few more upgrades to my resist all I can move back into Act3.
i start at the Battlefields quest and complete the act. I MF and EXP grind, base 100 mf with a Radiant star for the 31% exp boost in my helm. IF you need me to craft the gem for you I can, just bring the mats and money. Add me in game -- Cybersuicide#1653

Sometimes you don't always know where you stand... until you know that you won't run away.
I know this might be a statement that RNG can totally be applicable to, but I've been farming both Act 3 and 4 and I haven't seen a legendary drop that was i58 or higher and no set drops. I'm running with 228 mf, after stacks and I know the legendary/set drops can be just a waiting game, but what bothers me is how terrible the damage or property rolls on i60 plus gear is. It seems like items "can" roll great stats, but 99% of the i63 weapons I get have a dps of 300 or worse. 2 handers get into the 800's but that's the best I've seen.
So what amount of mf are you all using on these runs? I know there is no secret amount that makes legendaries drop like candy, but I'm just curious.
Got a legendary to drop off a 5 stack diablo kill, sunkeeper with amazing dex and vit.
same run both my buddies got legendaries and one got a set ring as well worth like 150mil.
There is no increased chance for ilvl 63 in A4 compared to A3, unless they made some changes and didn't communicate them. I find farming A4 relatively unrewarding... it's hard to get the stacks up, and then once you get 5 stacks it's almost over. Maybe with the large number of special mobs it's not bad for Legendary farming though, have to give it a try maybe.
Yeah I thought the benefit of farming act 4 was that the special type of mobs there have loot tables that drop higher class weapons than in act 3. I guess there is the idea that once you get 5 stack, getting to a boss (diablo) is rather fast and relatively easy to do with a little practice.
Act 4 definitey feels like you have to run around very inefficiently to find elites to get NV - so I'd love to know if the loot class is the same for 3 and 4.
Many play Act 3 in my friendlist. I play Act 1. Because I kill much faster there, and my logic is, if its faster, then I cover more kills which lead to better chance in finding loot. People do however not realise this and are doing areas with that small % chance of getting anything.
I know the odds are higher in act 4 to get a "ok" legendary, but as of yet, all my 20+ legendaries have been found in act 1, in different difficulties, with no mf. I feel that act 1 is a bit boring now, but you could always do different acts from time to time, just to spice things up!
I hope they fix act4 soon, the amount of elites is just stupid... it takes far to long to gain stacks. Im actually suprised they haven't tinkered with it already.
another example of following Diablo II logic without actual understanding. yes, acts 4 and 5 WERE kinda identical in drops (just drops, mind you), but not acts 3, 4 and 5, all with good reason. acts 3 and 4 should differ in drop rates and difficulty, hope it will be fixed...

Act lll is the best to farm there are lots of elite packs that you can cut your way through, some people find it tough though if not equip with the proper gear no matter how much health you have.
As presumed your gold find and MF are set high enough even Act l does farm a good amount, can hit about 2 to 300 k a hour and get over 50 to 60 good drops. Obviously the higher you go the possibility of better drops but in act l i did receive some nice high dps weapons.
It really does depend on your GF and MF, and your paragon level can add to that but when i did to act l i got a nice bit out of that, you do have to move around quite a bit to find the elites as they are spread out, but thats what the waypoints are for:)
Honestly I just do the Alkaizer run, although my dps is terrible and it takes be about an hour to do rofl. I still tend to get 2-3 legendaries every day

I need to get some more MF but I am having a hard time sacrificing any of my current gear to stack it. I guess easiest would be the socket in my helm.

Wouldn't that make act 4 loot better quality?
