This Diablo thing is driving me crazy, it used be every day, I would visit this website for news, than I made it to be every two days, but now apparantly with them stress testing the servers it means the release is soon, or i'm being optimistic now, the Announcement is soon... I wish I could erase Diablo 3 from my memory so I wouldn't have to worry about it until it was released...
Am I the only one anxiously awaiting like this???
Anyway I think announcement will be this month, release may/april.

IF you figure Diablo has 6 letters, and you add 3 to that, it gives you 9. the game was announced in 2008 its now 2012 thats 4 years.
so we know the game will be out in april (the 4th month) now, if we take 9 -4 that leaves 5. We will get the release date the week of the 5th, aka, the week of the call, FULL LOGIC!
-.-
Release date will be annonced on Febuary 15th 2012.
reason?
Well, if you figure that the conference call will take place on February 9th then a few days after that makes as much sense as anything else. I'd prefer to hear something prior to the conference call.
It will be before, investors will have the info so it doesn't start a sell-off after the 3rd disappointing call in a row

This has always been my point as well. Investors arguably want to hear a release date more than the fans, because it's more money. I'm thinking if anything we will hear it on the 6th, 7th or 8th (mon - wed). Maybe as late as the actual conference call on the 9th, but I'm hoping before =D
I don't think it will be during the call, that seems illogical as a press release would make more sense then the call. If there isn't a date you are getting a Q2 announcement.

ill get the debunks of my statement out of the way
early 2012 could be up till may, its only february & the beta wont be over for awhile
ok here are my thoughts
they havent come out and said that the game will be delayed and wont be out early 2012, if the game is gona be delayed they would
A, want to say it before long before the meeting, cos delivering that news in the meeting wouldnt be good
B, saying it after the meeting would make shares drop (mite only be 1%) and would throw out the projections of the figures and numbers that came up in the meeting (prob meaning a 2nd meeting, thats not good)
C, have to push back MoP cos of sales clashing and millions lost in revenue
delay is the thing we should be looking at, they havent once suggested or hinted at a delay, which is good news
with the meeting coming this thursday i can be confident to say that the game wont be delayed and is on track
as i have said in my posts on this thread, the share holders will want to see sales jump, meaning pre-orders, so annoucing the game before meeting will have a spike effect on pre-sales and maybe WoW annual sub offer (share holders say yay)
and the same effect would happen if announced after the meeting
i know i keep repeating myself in this thread, but some people are missing the certain info, & writing ain here kinda gets me excited for release date as i talk about positive possibilities
You underestimate the importance of investors. And they did say early 2012 so how is early 2012 past 1/3 of the year? May would be in the 2nd third of the year.
Drop maybe 1%...you don't know much about investing or ATVI it can do a 5% swing in regular trading, its not a big stock and not a great performer.
I agree with you on the delay, if we do not have an announcement in 7 days expect them to say "We are now projecting a Q2 release to ensure the quality of a game in respect and tradition we are known for."

1% was just a figure, i have no idea what the drop would be
and early 2012 to blizz could be jan-may to cover themselves, to us its the first two months
i doubt the will say Q2, cos they would be asking alot for their coustomers to wait again, its too close now to say Q2, and so many other good games are coming out in Q2, followed by MoP in Q3
I really doubt them saying Q2 or mid 2012 as well. Mostly because look at all they've cut out in the past couple of weeks. If they needed another delay, they wouldn't have cut those out. Instead I think what happened was they had a meeting, talked about runestones (runestones are very near completion, if not complete by now) and realized that they COULD ship very soon, if they put these couple things on the back burner, IE death animations, scrolls of companion / reforging, enchanter, and so on.
I might be biting my tongue in a couple days, but I say we are about to hear a release date this next week. If they needed a delay, (which they can tell pretty far ahead of time) then they wouldn't have cut those features =D

Q2 is April-Jun so May is Q2.

Honestly, they could delay it for another 6 months and 99.99% of the people who would have bought it if it came out next month will still buy it then. Blizzard knows they won't lose customers by delaying, hence they have nothing stoping them from doing so.
in 24 hours time (+ a few hours at latest) we will either have a release date, or we will get a release delay on the 9th (well Its not a delay as there is no date =P but you get what I mean)

we will get no release date this week. we will get a "still on track for early 2012" on the 9th and then within 2-4 weeks later we will get a release date

no, there will not be an "on track" at the call if we dont have a release
PR things come before calls, anywhere from a month and a few weeks, to the week before, not after. That would break their cycle, dont buy it

they have said the same shit before. "were still on track for Q4 2011" but we didnt get a release date after even though we should of, we got a delay instead. so yes we will get a still on track just like before and then a release date just like we shouldve before

Epic.

Sounds plausible to me.
best buy got sick of getting angry calls/e-mails over the feb/march release dates so they just said fuk it and put it at the very end of the year
