Health Orbs aren't considered items. You cannot pick them up. You basically run into them to activate them, when activated they heal your health as well as your parties health. =)
since this is looting topic... anyway, will there be an auto-vacume all drops? cuz if u able to salvage/coj the items u basicaly dont need to pick anything up and just autoloot... dunno
How about filters? Will I be able to select just yellow/ orange items so see from the drops?
As far as I know... No, but I wonder if that is something they are willing to implement.
And another question, are the health potions still very scarce (year old info)?
I am not sure. Either way we know that they have a cooldown, a large one I believe, so they won't be as omnipotent as before.
Edit: Tho I do remember reading one of the recent interviews in which the person playing ran out of potions and didn't/couldn't find anymore, but that might be a trick my mind is playing on me since reading all those interviews in one large period of time.
I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere there weren't going to be neither auto-pickup functions, nor filters (maybe because magic and rare items aren't going to drop by the dozens every 10 seconds like they did when you had some MF in D2).

I'm not sure. In the Blizzcon 2010 demo they dropped quite rarely, something like every 10 or 15 monster kills would give us a health orb, and it wouldn't max our HP after battling a unique monster and its minions.
Health management was actually something we had to be aware (but mostly because we were rushing through it just to get to the end, if you go slowly it's probably a lot easier).
Now if you see the "latest beta footage", the 7 minute video released on Aug 1st, you'll see a time where the Demon Hunter kills like 5 enemies and get 3 health orbs (all at the same time =/) which makes me wonder whether they'll screw up with the "health orb" feature after announcing it such a long time ago.

That might just be random luck, or they might have the chance for them appear a bit too high right now. I remember them saying that balancing how often they drop will be a bit troublesome. Too often and the players will have almost no fear of dieing, too seldom and the players die a lot unless they play slowly and carefully. These videos only give us a glance of the system, but we won't truly know how well it was implemented until at least Beta is released.

I can see them dropping fairly often in the beginning of the game but come hell/inferno your gunna be begging for one.
Is a Health Orb considered loot that is only seen by you or is it a party item?
anyway, they are Health Orbs
and u be carrying Health Potions
EDIT: ah and since it benefits all party members, i think every1 will see them

I like this idea and, I too, hope that is how they implement it.
Agree, would be nice to see a healing style of build (Monk?) become viable. Heck, paladins had a heal bolt and a healing aura in D2.
