think it will be called, or should I say, what do you think would be appropriate.
Is it safe to assume that they will continue to use "Normal < Nightmare < Hell"???

Ooh i didnt know about a 4th difficulty that should be fun. Maybe they should name the something like inferno,hellfire,epic,legendary, hhm just giving some ideas.

It would be pretty sweet if they added a new difficulty level (4th level), but did something to really distinguish it from the others. The changes could make it such that completing the 4th level became sort of like the ultimate quest accomplishment. For instance: -The 4th level would be insanely difficult, and completing it would require insanely godly equipment (4th level items). -The insanely godly equipment can drop in Hell difficulty and in the 4th level, however, it can only be used in the 4th level. (Cannot be equipped in normal, NM, Hell). -The insanely godly equipment is bound to the account when picked up. -The 4th level is single player only. This would make it so that in order for a player to complete the 4th level, he/she would have to be equipped with 4th level items that they found themselves (prevent a person from buying their way through it), and making it single player would eliminate rushing. It would be interesting because, unless you got lucky, the types of 4th level items that you found would dictate which type of character you had to create to attempt 4th level. They could have a secondary ladder system indicating how far along various people are in 4th level difficulty. And once you complete 4th level, you get the title "God" or "Goddess".

Im gonna point out a few things about this idea, that I must disagree with.
4th level restricted to single player? That would be an awful idea for this fact, all the best gear in the entire game, would only exist in single player.
Also, restricting the godly gear to only be used in the level/difficulty it was found in, would be a bad idea for this fact, you would have as much godly gear that you can hold, and toss out all the other equipment thats weaker than your so called level 4 equipment.
So, space would become a very large issue at that point, having space for your godly gear, thats restricted to your single player difficulty, and your online gear 3rd level gear, not to mention your tradeable gear or mule gear.
Its an interesting thought, but its to restrictive and aggravating.
Weapons/gear/armor etc, should not be restricted at any difficulty IMO.
Level 4 should Absolutely be online applicable, not just single player.
They should make Lvl 4 to where solo'ing is impossible to survive.
If they make lvl 4 solo'able then ofcourse there will be people who do nothing but grind all day to locate the best gear for themselves and to trade.
lvl 4 should be made to where it takes at LEAST 2 people maybe 3, to struggle through the Acts/Quests, compared to doing it alone you would surely die almost immediately.
Even characters that are close to the level cap of the Character lvl (90-99) the game should adjust to the level and become just as difficult as if a lvl 70 came in.

Well i like most of what you said but i dont think there should be a difficulty were you need 2 or 3 people to beat it, the classes in the game should be able to perfectly handle any difficulty.
Well, what I meant was, the lvl 4 difficulty should be soooo hard, that it takes more than 1 person to go through it.
I didnt say it should be impossible, I was just pointing out that we Diablo Fans should have our skills tested with the ultimate difficulty!

I would like to see every monster have more health. every monster not exploding with guts everywhere. I would also like to see some recoil when you hit an enemy and i want to see an enemy dodge or block. So far i havent seen this. I want to see a monster die with little blood and they just fall over with realistic weight. I would also like to see some scripted deaths in the style of the original. With rag doll endings.
Anyways the game right now looks way to easy and everythign dies in one hit except a few monsters. I want to have to run away because im being overwelmed or about to die.
Or maybe just 3 very distinguishable difficulty levels. Let's hope there are exclusive quests per difficulty, I hope Hell mode will be so hard, I'll break my mouse fingers playing through it.:D
Please no "soooooo hard" difficulties, that's an automatic fail. Nobody is going to play that unless they can cheat to beat that area. Most of success in Diablo games is what level you are and what gear you have, there's a very limited area a player can play in until it becomes pointless, and, trust me, Blizzard know where that area is.
And as I've said before, don't make it difficult by making monsters hard to kill, make it difficult by it being hard to survive without a wide array of skills and tricks. So no immunes or monsters that take hours.
They've already said the game could be played solo. This means they are not aiming at limiting it to teamwork. Also means SP is still viable.
They should make hell difficulty finish on level 99. No need for a 4th at all. I'm quite against that idea, why would I want to repeat the whole game the 4th time? Just make the in-between bigger.
Well put Equinox. Hell mode was really broken in D2 once thy added all the immunities. Also, Diablo 2's difficulty was also a little messed up in my opinion since enemies either seemed to be practically harmless or capable of killing you from full health in a second. There weren't anywhere enough moderately threatening enemies which really should be a significant number of a mob.

That is true, and it would decrease the sense of teamwork and socializing that is so important to online gaming. However, I was trying to describe a system that would make 4th level completion an individual accomplishment. In order to go there you must find all of your own gear, and you cannot be "helped" through it by other powerful characters.

This could be solved easily enough, for instance each account has an unlimited storage space for 4th level items. You would not be able to attempt level 4 even if you had the best items that could be equipped in hell. This means that if you could equip level 4 items in hell it would be a walk through, see what I'm saying. The attributes required for 4th level would be unreasonable in hell. I'm talking about 4th level items allowing players to deal 500,000 damage and have 1,000,000 defense.
