Naw, it's still testing, just an open public test that can be played online.

The changes were disappointing for me but they were also exactly what I expected.

I was hoping they would add some content(optional bosses, etc) across difficulties instead of limiting them to hell mode. I would have also liked to see the occurrence of hell immunes greatly decreased. Sadly, none of the changes they made seem to have any significant change to single player aside from altering a few builds.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the hardcopy as well. I assume there will be a much better selection of mods to toy with by then anyway. I actually may end up waiting for quite awhile since I'll probably be getting Titan Quest by then. That should satisfy my thirst for Diablo-like ARPG play for awhile. I guess I'll get Torchlight when I'm tired of TQ.

I like the idea. This kind of thing is always a nice addition since it helps to make the users feel like more of a community. I tried something similar on another site years ago but it never really took off. I'll look forward to checking these each fortnight.:)

Edit- Don't go back to Zhar if you don't want to, just keep the Zhar sig or add "formerly Zhar" under a new sig. If people just don't want to type extra they can always just use Fuzo, which sounds kinda neat too. People that have been more active for a longer period of time will have a longer time to adjust, but they'll be fine as long as you continue to ween them off Zhar as you have with the sig/avatar.

On topic though, I always like to see well managed forums that discourage some of the annoying parts of most forums(overly rude posts, racial slurs, etc). These rules look nice to me.

I wouldn't mind him having skills that put a big symbol on the ground ad any allies within that area could gain a bonus much like auras, but I don't think the D2 aura system would quite fit.

As for the armor, I had more or less assumed that he would be able to equip a variety of armor and just have it look differently on him much like the sorc and necro didn't look like the barb or paladin when wearing the same armor.

Impenetrable defense seems really cool but I'm gonna have to go with Way of a Hundred Fists since I like the three part attack. It'll be really fun to switch between skills and mix and match the parts of different attacks. I always hated the assassin's charge based combo system but the monk's system looks great.

The term 'tetris' is only applied loosely, I wouldn't get too hung up on it. I suspect most people liked the old system because you could see a full size image of each item instead of a traditional list or miniature icons. That and the idea of each item's size actually meant something when it came to carrying stuff. But I don't think most people liked it because you had to rearrange stuff all the time.

Of course this new system is a compromise between the old 'tetris' system and a more traditional list that earlier videos suggested, but since it involves placing items of more tha one size on a grid people will stick to the established term 'tetris'.

Yeah, the rotating option wouldn't make a big difference considering there are only 2 sizes. Of course if you have an odd number for the height of the inventory, rotating would still help if you were carrying almost all large(2 space) items.

I'm happy about the tetris inventory coming back, although I hope we can rotate the items 90 degrees this time.

The only other inventory system I can think of that I'd like as much as the tetris version would be a weight based version. It's been used in countless other games and I generally like it assuming they don't put the limit too low without a way to increase it.

I'll miss the tetris style storage but I think the new system wont really take away from the game anyway. If more inventory space can be found as drops then I imagine I will be quite excited about those drops.

I doubt it will result in previous work being scrapped/redone. The art director is still only one piece of the team working on the game's presentation.

Hmm, Some of the sound changes in the video are ok but I think the color change really does take a lot away from the game. At least to me it seems as though it would be kinda hard to see what was what and just otherwise get boring after awhile. I think it really shows some of the potential problems Wilson was talking about.
