Remember too, we still got to wait on Starcraft 2 trillogy...or at least one of the campaigns. So yea, 50% for me as well. I am sure when they hit 100%, they will go through everything again and making sure it is perfect and it would probably fall back to 95%

The highest any great game will hit would be 99% done. As there will always be something to add to the game to make it better, or fixed to make it better.

You can't really place an overall percentage on such a massive undertaking, but if you could you'd have to account for everything.
When we first saw D3 the engine was running and stable -> imo that means 10% done.
2 of 5 classes were immediately announced -> add 10% each.
Let's not forget that Blizz had been workin on that engine since 2005.
We're now up to 3 classes, and i assume a blizz PR manager would only push the very last class reveal at about 90% completion; but we haven't seen anything concerning another ACT (except maybe the Dune Thresher and/or the artwork of other levels).
So, based on the coming blizzcon, I'd only really give opinion thereafter.
What I'd like to see at BCON is an indication of how far along they are (which is undoubtedly quite far, since they couldn't change the artwork of the engine last year)
If i could give a percantage based on everything right now: I'd say 40%, after a big show of awesome stuff next month, my percentage might change.
Takin all that into consideration (considering we have seen quite a lot) i mark the game for a 2011 release, purely blamed on testing and balancing.
(BTW: Think like Blizzard: If they -and they probly will- reveal another class this Blizzcon, they would almost suredly reveal the last class at the next big event which is invariably 2010. There was no WWI09 and I'm pretty sure that was because they had nothing to show. If they have WWI10 it would be because of 'Cataclysm'- not just a 'class for D3' reveal. But then one has to think:
Will they even reveal another class this year?)
I think they are probably 70 or 80%. Have hope! Maybe they will be like unfortunately.....*silence in crowd* DIABLO 3 WILL BE OUT TOMORROW!!!! and then everyone will cry and cheer at the same time while punching the person to the right of them in the face!
I'd say about 60% since it's been a while since news has come out. Also, with two more characters in the works, and keeping hush-hush on the Acts' completion, and other game specs...a 2010 release shouldn't come as a shocker. Just in time for a graducation present for me :D.

"Hey guys...don't you ever just...fall over...cuz ya know...the world is moving...and you're standing still?"
ugh, a year+ release...? That would suck so bad. Like I honestly couldn't handle it. I'm only willing to waste away my freshman year of college hunched over my computer playing D3. After that...well...a pre-med bound course-load will just make my brain explode to begin with.

Damn. That sucks. That's what I don't like about companies like blizzard. They have such small teams working on projects that they can only devote their full time to one at a time. However, this does turn-over great games....hmm...

On a better note, I personally think Starcraft 2 is pretty well along. The whole mulitplayer experience is pretty much there, they probably just need more work on campaign, map making, and balance. Its going to need much more testing and balance than it will art, lore, and animation at this point. This will leave a lot of room for them to work on certain aspects of Diablo 3.

What I was trying to say is that these games could have easily been released earlier... like, 2-3 years earlier... Diablo III needs to provide a huge amount of content to counter for the amount of time they spent on it, and StarCraft II so far shows absolutely nothing that wasn't there in StarCraft I. If you ask me, they've been dragging their time since WarCraft III, if not StarCraft I.
A lot of people are overexcited about Diablo III, and many still cling to the whole "Blizzard makes great games" idea, I'm not sure how true that is anymore, not after WoW, and not with how much time they take while deleting features instead of adding them. We need to remember that Diablo II has been done quite a while ago.

True, True. But I'll cling on to that idea, because I've been waiting for Diablo 3 since I beat Diablo II: LOD the first time. And Honestly, I wouldn't care if it was a bad game anyways since I don't play that many games. I have a few PS2 games, Gamecube, and Diablo. That's about it. So I'll play whatever they decide to market as Diablo 3, and so far...me likey.

I kinda was that way... Diablo III was floating in my head but I never expected it to happen. Blizzard got involved with all the WarCraft stuff (including WC3, which I had many hopes for, and was severely disappointed in) and I was really skeptical about what they are doing. Then the whole StarCraft Ghost thing...

I think we have at least a year more to wait before D3 is released.
"Eternal suffering would be too brief for you, Diablo!"
awesome sig
It's just filling up the game with things that will have you coming back for years.
That takes time.
so it's around 70% but the last 30% will be a long time.
I'd say october-november 2010 release
So 60%, they have to add content and test
