"A wizard is never late Frodo Baggins. Nor is he early.

"Losers always whine about their best, winners go home and Fvck the prom queen."
1-3 the answers are yes they said something about this i remember reading somewhere or maybe in the panel discussion they had i cant remember where i saw this or read this since i read so much
4 from the gameplay trailer it looks like all items will fit into one slot regardless of size and they look small in inv but seem to have elements of their powers (the fire axe has red flames around it, cold had a blue cloud)
5. gems ive heard yes, charms yes, not so sure about jewels
I believe for number 4 he was asking about the looks of items when being equipped on different classes. Currently they plan on there being no class specific items (am i right? i think so), and every item has a different look when worn on different classes. A barbs helm might look like a big steel horned helmet and a wizards might be a shiny hood or something.
I believe they said they wanted to make gems more important in this game, runes are for skill customization, and jewels and charms have not been announced.
They are still deciding on sets and how they should work, as they thought they were kind of broken in D2 which i SORT OF agree with.
Rares i believe are in, as the naturally should be with all the prefixes and affixes.

Broken as in OP? Not at all. Nobody used sets after 1.11, maybe the occasional tal rasha, but that's it...
They said the real problem was that by the time you completed the set, you were already too good for it, so you had to give it to a lower level char. (Which is fine, but they said its not what they had in mind.)

no not as in OP, more of the opposite. It is as JW has said. i like the idea of sets but something has to be changed without making them OP so everyone uses them. There should be "best items" but multiple ones so it depends on the build and style you want.
No i am 99.9 % sure it WILL NOT be changed (the armor looks on people from the inventory). Everyone can where a steel helm (or whatever) and it will look like that in the inventory for everyone, but when worn it suits the classes style. It is what they said from the very beginning. its actually kind of cool i think.
If i recall and understood correctly they meant that the items that drop are designed more to suit specific classes needs. Like items that barbarian would like to have would have stats that benefit them most..etc
hmmm...maybe that is SORT OF true, but im still nearly 100 % sure that a helm will look different on every character ;). I mean this is obvious as you can clearly see that the art work of the helm looks nothing like when the barbarian has it on (horns), but as they have said, it is able to be worn by everyone. trust me, that same helm WILL look different on another class haha. Kinda silly, but also very cool and artistic IMO.
1. I heard something about 'legendary' weapons, are those what uniques were in D2?
From the videos you can see purple items drop, its unknown right now what colors represent what quality group of items but you will see common, rare, uniques without a doubt.
2. Have they determined whether or not to bring sets back?
They are bringing sets back (J said they are trying a new way of doing them this time though) however they want to make sure that sets are universally useful throughout the game (from 1 to 100), however they are implementing that is probably why they aren't saying much on them at this point.
3. Are there going to be rares?
More then likely.
4. Do we know if weapons and armor will be generic looking for the characters like in D2? (Will the armor/weapons in my inventory look the same on my char in the game, or will it be some predetermined looking armor like in D2? Like how the uniques didn't look any diff on your char, but they looked sweet in the inventory.)
They will look unique (depending if they are unique) in your inventory status window and on your character, weather different pieces of armor change visual style between character classes is the unknown.
4. It will be the same as it was in D2. This is not 100% confirmed but you can hear some hints in a couple of interviews, and also there are concept pieces portraying the 'generic' set appearances as your class progresses through the game and equips better quality items. Unique sets will most likely have unique appearances again as well.
5. Gems: yes. Jewels: most likely not. Charms: unknown.
