hey...all of you guys..if you dont know..even the thread from B.net about graohic discussions has been close!!! its not about mods from diablofans...its about BLIZZARD!! blizzard close our threads
If the game's supposed to get darker, Blizzard could have posted a SINGLE picture from later in the game somewhere to show us that the graphics don't suck all the way through. Since we have nothing to go on except what we've seen so far, and since we don't want the whole game looking that way, and since the time to change the look of the game is NOW not after the game is released, then yes it's pretty reasonable to bitch and moan as much as possible about it now so maybe somebody there will actually pay attention.
They are just saving your fingers and time from useless whine
w00t, finally a real diablo fan at diablofans.com
sigh, cmon guys.
"if you look at diablo 1 and 2, they were very umm... I mean they obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games. And one of the challenges we wanted to take with Diablo III was, 'could we add color, but still maintain that gothic dark feel?' You know cause I think, uh, we want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice. And I think that's something that um, you know took a long time to get to the point we're at now, like we've probably gone through at least three different pretty major art direction shifts, until we got to the point where we are on stage. Because I think it's really difficult to pull that off. But, we're really happy with the game now."

Rob Pardo.
Yea there happy about the game not me I want darkness.
Not to sound mean, but I suggest you look those two words up before dissing blizzard on "making up words" for their art style.
Doesn't sound mean
Their art style is still "Stylization over realism"
That is not Diablo and they know it.

I watched that art presentation yesterday. The art director seems to have no clue whatsoever understanding the dark atmosphere played huge role in Diablo series success. The guy said they want to liberally use colors like blue and green colors do depict horror vibe of game. I bet this guy is big fan of telle tubbies and scooby doo cartoons.
It seems like most of you want Marilyn Manson to take the position of lead artist with Diablo 3. While pink is not the new black, black should not dictate an entire world. From what we know, 20 years have passed and people have forgotten. Would people forget if little demons ran around with pikes burning the landscape until it was wrought with ash? No. This is the return of evil after some long time, and the world of Sanctuary will burn. Just be patient. Hell will not be a princess's messy room in a medieval castle, nor will it be Buffalo Bill's skin hole in the basement. The world will go from bad to worse, and things will be darker. Open your minds past the simplicity of visual satisfaction, and immerse yourself in the game when it comes out. There is much more to darkness than a broken light bulb.
To much of your dismay, I'm sure, Avenged Sevenfold covering "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" will not be featured on the soundtrack.
You people worry too much. There will be dark, gritty Diablo defining atmospheres. They showed a very small portion of the game. Calm down.
They showed us what imho is an important aspect of the game if this is what they are showing at the announcement of a game that we have been expecting for 8 years!, then I can assure you that the rest of it wont be much different, it doesn't make sense for them to say:
Guy 1: So what part of Diablo are we going to show at WWI 08 to surpraise everyone?!
Guy 2: I know!, lets show the less Diablo like part of the game for the announcement and keep the real gothic, gritty darker part of the game, what you guys think?
Yea they're like what 40% or so finished with the game...Where is the part I suppose to buy this excuse of "It's still not alpha, wait some more".
If we won't speak up and get heard we will get Diablow.
And still ppl won't answer How come skeletons and such live in so lively scenery and won't effect it even in the slightest!!!
Yea I'm sure the skeletons and zombies enjoy the sun too
You can argue left and right that it doesn't look cartooney, but in the end it sure as hell doesn't look realistic either. This mockery is what Diablo 3 would look like if Las Vegas bought the rights and made it it's bitch.
LOL more like if Disney purchased Diablo.
The cartoon dungeon looks about as evil as Beauty and the Beast castle.

stop arguing about what we've seen for 20 minutes especially it just being a portion of the first act, whiny players, a week ago everyone was so excited about it and how after 8+ years it's coming out, but now some of you are complaining
I think what was said about having a constant gothic vibe for all of D1 and D2 was a good point.
Because with a better graphics engine, if its dark the whole goddamn time it will get old, versus maybe getting darker as the game goes on, which kind of makes sense.
Im reserving judgement though this game is way too far from finished.
