I think it's just time to put the necro to rest. I mean would it be much different if the character has the exact skills but looked more like a necro?
I think the classes will be Barbarian-Witch Doctor-Paladin-Sorceress-Rogue(Amazon/Assassin) seems like a sum of everyones list and what is the most realistic according to blizzards approach and lore of the classes.
don't know about you guys but im very curious as to how the skill system will work...I just hope the skill can be a lot stronger when maxed because in D2 without godly items your maxed skills won't help you much especially in hell mode
I haven't read through all the threads but I think there should be a more asian based class Since there was the introduction of the witch doctor. I think there should be class like a monk, ninja, samurai, or something like that.
the way everyone talks about this thread, ranger, rogue, that stuff sounds boreing, i think bliz is gonna blow your minds with some stuff you guys cant even fathom at this point. or maybe im just way to excited. and no one seems to think a character like the druid is intune with nature will make a comaback. well if you watch some of the art work vids that are floating around, when it starts showing cooncept art for the barb and witch doctor, it shows a char, that doesnt look much like a villian, and alot like a druid. i think one form or another of nature elementalist will be present.
from what i saw watching the video, i think that it's not actually like a low health thing thatll happen, i think in certain bosses like him, you're already dead and he'll kill you in one way or another, if you look at the girl witch doctor, i think he slapped her aside and her body flew away and into the little bed of water in the middle of the battlefield, a death animation for her
or how the barbarian got himself bitten in half, i just think that maybe each monster has a way of killing you, but we didn't get to see that, only at the boss, we'll just have to see, maybe a zombie will just stab you directly in the chest, it's a possibility, or a dark cultist makes you explode from the inside, anything is possible
i like that idea alot, i used to think the way a paladin fell over with his ass in the air EVERYTIME was really stoopid, making the same sounds, me and my friends would laugh for ever in PK games. Did anyone else think the necro sounds alittle gay when he dies. i mean really flamboient LOL

Kind of makes me think like "Fatality" from Mortal Combat.
I like the way the skill tree's are looking, with certain 1, 5 and 10 points.. as well as the classic 20 points.
I may have missed this cause I lost this page when it's title changed but anyone have any idea's on how that "fury rank 1" thing below half the barbarian Skills works?
I'm thinking there will be sort of two skill systems that synergise together? sort of like theres the original one, where you get a new ability for placing a point in it, and another system that might buff all the abilities in one of those tree's. Like passive skills.

I'm hoping Blizz does surprise us, but lets face it, we will need to see the 5 basic types of classes in some way shape or form.
Blizz may combine class, say the barb could end up specing for melee, shouts, and a paladin type tree.
Maybe we can make the witch doc into a primary cast by just not specing into their bone-like tree and specing mostly fire.
I'd love to see some non-mainstream ideas make it through such as something like an illusionist, that may not produce damage like a sorc, but can mitigate damage by trickery and attack without you knowing which form is the real one or something.
A complete shapeshifter class could be possible as well. Picture your old druid, but take away his spells etc. Maybe he would need to be in bear form for certain attacks, dragon form for a mix of physical/magic, and elemental for magic only. Each one having a unique set of melee/magic. Giving some magic buffs to bear, and some physical shielding spells to elements etc.
Maybe they will releive us from the old paladin simply by including a bard type class specing in melee, magic, and song (essentially auras).
Possibly a mimic type class or skill that simpley temporarily learned skills from mobs near by. I dont know how the trees would work though.
I don't know. Just trying to make this a little different.

I'm exactly the opposite. I think they need to make the game harder as 99.9% of the time when you're at hell difficulty you'll be equipped to take on the bosses. I'd like to see all the characters made a bit weaker to make the game more challenging.
A poorly equipped hammerdin doesn't seem to have much trouble with Hell diff...(I think they need to give blessed hammer the axe completely). It's a bit ridiculous when one character can be botted and kill Baal and his minions like it's nothing...synergies + ridiculous runewords utterly ruined D2's difficulty.
I'd like to see less powerful weapons (although sure, beef the skills up) so that rather than standing next to a boss and hammering away you actually have to think/move/plan your attacks.
When the max damage for a bow went from 150 dmg to 550 dmg with D2X, the difficulty dropped proportionally...

Looking for members of the old DarkKillers Paladin clan...
backstory: One of the anceint tribes had palidans fight for them then after many years they went corrupt and started dabbling in black (evil) magic thus creating the death bearer (only thing i could think of ><) after many years they destroyed each other and the survivers moved to main land and taught their powers to others so as to create a larger army .
nice eh?
skill trees summon(skeletons only) auras(cuses and blessing put on summons to make them better) sword mastery (damage with sword + skills and stuff ex:zeal) so who thinks this could work? i mean i made this up as a wrote this! come on add to it!!!:D:)
Well considering he witch doctor is so new and different, i doubt the other 3 classes will even be from previous games.. I'm Sure they'll have some kind of mage/sorceress, but as for the other two, who knows?

The Witch Doctor looks fun and interesting as a class.

It won't happen.
I can't see them making a main healer class because that class would be horrible alone, and therefore would not be viable for single player.
