yeah i know that is the main clash between wether or not to have infinate/giant stash vs a med-small stash, because i believe (along the giant stash side) that if you work for your items and PAY to play the game to begin with, you shouldnt have to throw anything away you dont want to, but then on the med-small stash side, having limits is more realistic and yes challenging when it comes to making desicions, but im not gunna sit their and mf for stuff if i cant keep what i worked to find. (im one of those HC gamers that get filthy rich in like 2-3 months so maybe that will help you understand my perspective)

"store your items at a lock up for a daily or weekly rate with unlimited space"< or pay a $5 rate per extra storage block per week, if you cant pay you cant access your stash<now thats how you make money important
hm, i kinda like that idea, but then again take into consideration people that steal gold all the time (dueling), they jack your gold then you cant get your stuff if you want it, and the longer it takes you to pay it off, the larger the ammount becomes, thats gunna piss people off more than satisfy them, we'd have to alter how you loose things when you die, what you loose when you die, and what the difference between your loss in death if that death was by another player or a monster

i like the part about being able to acess all ur items but there should be a pennalty like say a certain amount of gold to transfer a item to anthor char.
For example say that u had a ik maul on a sorc its should maybe cost half of what the item would sell for or even like how unique the item is.
Wait, you like the idea of a an idea pissing people off?
Honestly, Infinite storage all the way, but it's no gonna happen, at least not on Battle.net (or any multiplayer) due to the size that will take up with so many accounts, not to mention all the different characters on each of them.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

The best thing to do would be to keep things the way they are...there is nothing majorly wrong with the current storage setup. I think Blizzard would want to improve on other things beside storage...
lol jarhead that sounds like a pretty crappy attitude on a site like this, i meen whats the point of this website? is it to MAKE the game itself? or is to talk about what different people think would be cool to see on the new game? regaurdless of if it WILL happen or not is irrelavent, the point is to talk about what people would LIKE to see.

yeh its a disc game. your inventory was similar to diablo but the bottom part (where most of your items are) is a bit smaller (maybe 12 squares smaller) but divided into 5 pages which you can switch between.

I really don't know about the stash. I am an economic kind of guy so I always keep a ton of items and potions and charms in the stash and I always ran out of space. But maybe that's a good thing, my stash would be huge if it was limitless. I kept chucking it onto the ground but then I always forgot to take it back.
I know what your stash would have looked like. I know what mine was like when I had unlimited pages of 10x10 in my stash.
It was 100 Full Rejuvs, 10 of every rune (found thus far) all gems I've ever found, all sets saved and sorted alphabetically, all uniques separated according to item type and stored away.
In total I think I got around around 50.000 slots filled with items. (an armor takes up 6 slots, a helmet 4 etc.)
Just check out Plugy next time you play SP of TCP/IP

#1)D3 (if and when it arives) will be a massive game and MANY people will play it, and im guessing that people will keep EVERYTHING they find, because nobody will know what they want, what they dont want, or what they can do with what. so im guessing everyone will grab anything they can and hold onto it untill we get a good idea of what stuff is and does and who its good with. making the system (servers) very hard to run, keeping track of that many items on that many account.
#2)no program in the world can make INFINATE anything, their is alwais a limit, their is no way a program can read something that sais their is no limit, the computer wouldnt be able to read it, it wouldnt understand it. their will alwais be a limit, you could make the storages HUGE, but that would again lag the system out. but their is no way to make infinate of anything when it comes to technology

Well, I think that we should have a bigger stash then D2, but, a limit...and gold should be important, but an unlimited money stash in the stash, but a limit on how much you can carry.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that nothing can be made infinite (by humans). But do you believe that someone will ever use approx 4 billion stash pages (as is possible in D2 through modding)? Just flipping through all of them would take 127 years (one second per page, but you have to sleep, and that time is not combined with actual gaming to collect items to fill it with.)
It should be bigger though. Preferably as big as Blizzard feel they can make it without causing complications with the servers.

yea, unlimited stash would make everything much easier but is that what we are really looking for, an easier game? I want a super hard game-NO STASH-(scratch that) small stash like d2.

Bigger storage is always better. Just check PlugY and see.
