I think that it will be ruined quite quick, as there will be some broken mechanics. Current PTR testing is out of control, it is not directed by blue posts, it is not looking for abuses. Just a single wrong interaction, and items like Zodiac can ruin the whole game. And after they do, there will be two options: to finish the season quick or to ignore the problem. For some reason I think that Blizzard will decide to ignore, and we will have a "dead" season. Sorry for being pessimistic.
i thnk 3 months would be perfect. season 1 was 5 months and that was too long. season 2 was 1 and a half months and that is too short. a perfect balance of 3 months would make me very happy.
with that said, it doesnt really matter how long the season is if we are properly notified. for example, i would be okay if the season only lasted 1 month as long as i knew BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED that it would only be one month. proper notification is more important to me than length. but again, if i had to choose, i would enjoy 3 months.
I believe it will take a while for them to make the next (potentially huge) content patch (2.3 with new class sets, systems, etc.) given how much it took them to make 2.2 come true (5+ months from Blizzcon?).
I agree with the person who mentioned proper notification. This way people can decide whether they want to bother with a season. I personally wouldn't have played season 2 if I knew it would have been over so quickly.

Seasons are bullshit in any way. Start all over and over and over. Search all the same things over and over.
BORING!!!
They should make them regularly lasting 6-8 weeks, not more. I would prefer a 6 week max only. And leave a time for non-seasonal gaming for at least 2-4 weeks. I'd prefer the latter.
Why? Because tell me the reason, one should care about non-seasonal gaming anyway???
You have to respect that this game is played by hundreds of thousands of people, who all have different ideas of what they want from an ARPG, who all have different play-styles, who all have varying amounts of time to play, who all have their own goals.
Since you evidently do not play seasons, your opinion on how they should be structured is invalid.
The TRUTH to your post; You don't play seasons and you want them as short as possible so you can have their loot when the season is done. Try being a bit more empathetic toward your peers, and for satans sake, be honest about your motivations.
Well, first season more then 5 months.. second 2 months,
i guess the thirth will be 3 weeks!
As was mentioned above; The first season had to be a bit of a marathon to suss out issues so that proceeding seasons could go forward with integrity.
IMO, the second season was ruled extra short as a service to the entire community in order to get these sweeping changes live ASAP. 2.2 contains a LOT of very intriguing changes that will likely morph class builds into a far more dynamic state.
Following the above logic, the truth to their intended season length as an average will most likely be somewhere in the middle.
Well, on the Tavern Talk yesterday they said the length of a season will depend on their development schedule. In otherwords, if something is taking them a long time to fix/implement, then expect a longer season. If they can complete the dev work early, then expect a short season.
They basically said that seasons won't be a fixed length every time.

While also saying their internal goal is 3-4 months.
They understand patch 2.1.2 and season 2 were a mistake, forced on by whining fans about season 1 being too long. They will not make that mistake again.
I strongly object in the invalidity of my opinion. (How can a personal opinion be invalid, anyways???).
Well I was operating on the assumption that you didn't play seasons, because.....
easons are bullshit in any way. Start all over and over and over. Search all the same things over and over.BORING!!!
That didn't sound like someone who played seasons, because, well you don't have to play seasons. I don't play seasons either. I don't allow the lure of a few new items to draw me into a game mode that I don't enjoy. This is why I considered your opinion of how seasons are structured to be invalid. If you don't like season play, you're not really one to be judging how they structure it.
the whole thing about non-season play is - IMHO - insiginificant, while season stay the way they are.
What do you mean by "the way they are"?
Part 2: Why do you play seasons if you hate it so much?
I simply don't enjoy it.
I'm having a hard time understanding what exactly is going on with you.
Do you think the next season will be another short one like season 2?
Why was season 2 so short?
I think a couple more months would be good but oh well
all i can say is fuck 5 month season 1 and fuck 2 month season 2. HOW HARD is it to make a 3-4 month season?! blizzard is retarded
Yeh I agree 3 to 4 month season is good
I did hear from a friend that this season was ending early so they can implement the patch?
stop being stupid, can you?
Season 1 was INTENDED to be longer because it was a beta season.
ot: 3months prolly
Still feel S2 was a a little short
1 more month would of been good
How long were Seasons in D2?

Two month seasons feel perfect. Hopefully it stays like that.

3 months sounds pretty spot on to me.
I don't mind 2 months seasons but 3 seems the be the sweet spot among most of the player base.
Off: there is gonna be always some new exploit ruining leaderboards IMO.
Safe answer: 3-4 months....
My bet: 5 months...
