Been testing my SC/EB CM wizard on 1.0.5 and it doesn't seem to be viable anymore. SC doesn't proc enough keep up diamond skin to absorb enough hits on anything above 2 to 3 monster level. This only seems easier on monster level 1 right now is that I have 65K dps and things just practically keel over, but if I have to rely on the CM procs to activate frostnova and diamond skin, I would die. Tried switching to specteral blades and meteors but that doesn't really work with my gear since I was using slow weapons with no attack speed for my prior SC/EB build.
With Storm Chaser having its coefficient brought down to match other energy twister runes it ceases to be ideal for CM. Try using Wicked Wind or Mistral Breeze for better results. The build may be dead without intervention or may be reserved for those with absurd attack speed and crit values.
Low attack speed makes bigger hits with explosive blasts, explosive blasts is purely weapons dmg. In 1.0.4 stormchaser procs fine even with just one mob to keep up CMs rolling without a need for a 1.2+ attack speed weapon. Faster attack speed is really just throwing tornados out faster, but that is limited to your AP pool. This is from a toon that's used to owning elites in 5-8 seconds if they are not teleporting away and 1 hour act 3 clears. Tried using WW on PTR, just doesn't work very well if you're relying on getting 1-2 second recasts on diamond skin/frost novas. First it takes a few seconds to ramp up, in a few seconds the elites are dead in 1.0.4. And second the procs are so low, you also need to increase more LOH or Life Leech, currently I have 480 and that's more than enough in 1.0.4. Now don't get me wrong at monster power 0, this spec still works since 3 EB hits and they are dead. So really any spec with decent gear will let you roll through inferno Act 3 with monster power 0. I'm just commenting on that the whole idea of the CM build is for your to CM your cool downs so fast that difficult mobs are either permafroze or you have enough uptime on diamond skill to practically take all the hits. So far I haven't found any skill that that can replace what WW did in 1.0.3 or SC did in 1.0.4.
with high crit you can easily have tornadoes going out as fast as you possibly can making you get faster procs which in turn let you spam even faster. Side note i switched to archon spec so all i am after is a super fast reset and an incredibly fast reset on diamond skin but who knows.

Currently, very little modifications to my build. I use to Tank with my SC CM build with Evocation, CM, Blur, but I took out Blur for Astral Presence for the AP regen and cap.
Also I am solo'ing with Scoundrel for the extra Crit Chance.

I played Battlements and Stonefort in Act 3 Inferno at monster power 4 on the PTR.
My build us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Ynir-1828/hero/24693237 includes Blizzard, which blends well with the CM attack. I use Wicked Wind with Energy Twister, as I have on the 1.04 live server by way of comparison.
The CM aoe/lockdown was smooth at startup, probably because of the player cc buff. Healing from LOH and lifesteal were good. The play was more fluid and smoother than in 1.04 live.
My stats were same as usual except for magic find, 301 at 5 stacks with monster power 4, compared with 265 in 1.04. Also, dps was 101K on the PTR compared with 93K live, I don't know why, maybe its a bug.

i'm a lower dps (29-30K) CM wiz. been playing it since 1.0.3 and dealt with the changes. i went to ptr the last few nites and tried different things. I actually switched back to WW. I have around 40% crit and 23 APOC, so i wasnt having a ton of issues in MP lvl 3 and 4. My real issue was survivability with the nerf to Energy Armor. Since my dps is so low, i rely on survivability. i tried it as is and died a lot. I switched to storm armor - shocking aspect, died even quicker. So, i dug up old reliable Ice Armor - Crystallize. Worked very well, but still had issues past MP lvl 4. I may try to incorporate some Ray of Frost into the build or some meteor. Still not certain about giving up Teleport because it gets me out of jams so many times. i'm thinking about using Diamond skin - prism, but that means i lose that extra 10K dmg absorption. Not sure how much that would affect things if i can keep DS running constantly. The build is still viable, just have to play to the efficiency of your gear
