Personally, I think they're on the right track. It's indeed true: fury gain/spend has a horrible imbalance, and I think tweaking the mechanics of their respecive attacks is a cool start.
I'm really liking it so far. My favorite skill was Seissmic slam hands down, but once I got into inferno I just stopped using Fury Spenders because they didn't do enough to warrent losing either movement or survival abilities. I can't wait to see what they do to SS.
I never used rend at all, something about it never felt good to me, now with damages like 700%/5sec and 900%/5sec I might give it a shot. I also disliked how small HotA was in its AoE, but with the damage buff that's getting it could very well be worth putting on one of my builds for fast single target damage.
I'm just glad it looks like Fury is actually going to matter now. It honestly felt like something that could be ignored previously.
These barb changes also indicate that other classes will recieve such huge buffs to their skills.
Such as my retired dot doctor; I am expecting huge buffs to locust swarm and haunt. Which will be fantastic.
I didnt find legendary changes so fantastic (summoning demons and angels, farts, glows feels like wow to me) yet if those class changes will be solid then it will be a huge buff to diversity.
Yet with these changes progressing will be easier and Diablo will surely need an endgame system apart from item hunt.
Im very happy with the changes as a WW barb, with my 58% crit i can keep WW up most of the time and from the looks of it, it will get a buff, which makes me very happy:)
Hoping to go back to a cleave build in the next patch as well, since they are buffing cleave and 2 handers.
I'm hoping that 2 handers will be viable enough for double tornado build, hopefully they have doubled the potential LoH u can get from 2 handers like they did with crit, would be awesome to play 2h tornado build efficiently.
I was hoping they would release a bit more info in these class blogs though.
i really hope they address the fact that only like 4-5 passives are useful would be nice to be able to make more of a choice, and i hope they are going to look at buffing the other shouts/ revenge so i dont just have to keep using the impunity/provaction
Given the massive buff to Rend, does anyone else here think it is possible for the Blood Lust rune to replace Revenge? Seriously, even with the Inferno lifegain reduction, that is going to be an intimidating amount of health regen along with a similarly intimidating amount of damage every five seconds.
It most definitely is a step in the right direction. Fury spenders simply must be viable, and powerful. I'm very curios about the patch notes for 1.0.4.

"Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the small death that brings total obliteration."
They're buffing 2H, in the legendary preview there was a 2H with 192% critdamage+socket. And also 61/62 weapons can get affixes or weapon damage 63 weapon can after 1.0.4. Have to see where it ends up but buffs are always good
Must say i'm pleased with the changes but i kinda expected more. Ancient spear is still only used for Ranged spec (and only 1 rune) and Ground Stomp is not used at all.
What do you mean you expected more? the rest of the changes arent out yet.
Anvil build receiving a nice buff is music to my ears. It should be cheaper than ever to farm without resorting to a expensive high dps or high LoH alternatives.

Just by scrolling the new legionaries I saw we can get HotA reduce cost on Stone of Jordan(5), Skull Grasp(4) and Mara's Kaleidoscope(5) + on 2H weapon(5) = 1 fury
Those changes look good on paper and will definitely add more options for undergeared barbarians, which is great.
At the same time I guess the tornado build will still be a no-brainer for well-geared barbs. In fact, changes to monsters' HP will make the WW build even more effective than it is now, since it's probably the only barb build that doesn't slow down because of the trash and actually benefits from it.

Edit: or Weapon Trow for free.
If not Frenzy will still overshine Seismic Slam
