Am I correct in assuming that Windows 7 will come with both a 32 bit and 64 bit edition in the same box? Since there are no 64-bit editions scheduled to ship as of now.
I can't wait to get 64bit win7 running on my oc'd q6600.. should work like a dream. I would get the RC but what's the point if those expire around the time 2010 rolls around?

well guys, thanks to my school. i was able to get a copy of windows 7 for free. and i got the disk today. so i am going to dual boot that with vista on my laptop.
(im taking an online course and need vista. as soon as the class is over i will exterminate the vista)
so i will be messing around with vista in the next few days/weeks/months. and now that i think of it.
Maybe i should make a thread on it. if you guys have any questions about windows 7 or anything. I will see what i can do with my copy and post it in the thread (that i will make after i finish installing.)
well, im not sure. I think it is retail. for its directly from microsoft. and it is through the school. so thats giving me a really good hope that its retail from microsoft. but there are certian things i have to follow.
Yes its realease i myself have the ofiicial release i already hhave installed i think its so much better than xp even...
im so excited to install it. the only problem is that im installing on my laptop. and I have stuff on there. so i need to transfer over and what not. lame. haha. but yeah. shouldnt be too hard.
Yeah Windows 7 literally rocks my socks it took a while to freaking install it on my mack. I have proffesional not ultimate but my uncle said if you put in an ultimate key on a pro disk or home disk you get unlimited features.

Installed this junk on my laptop. I wanted to get my wireless internet since XP failed to do so. Well, it told me to plug in my ethernet cord. I guess I'll never have wireless internet on Win on my laptop. >_<

I installed Ubuntu on my laptop, and there is wireless there without doing anything at all... so I assume yes... Unless Ubuntu magically creates wireless where it doesn't exist... that wonderful OS is the only reason this laptop has any use at all. It's a D800 Dell Latitude actually. Says "designed for winxp" on it. And, no, I didn't buy it.
Win 7 installs most drivers itself, out of the blue..
So I was hoping. I guess D800 is an exception. It updated the BIOS but still wasn't able to confiugre the wireless

Wireless worked for me straight away. Did it at least find your network?
It doesn't get to that point. I configured wireless before, usually the driver was an issue. I can get the driver, even, put it on the USB and give it to the laptop, but it behaves like a wrong driver. It asks me to plug in an Ethernet cable to some other computer that already has internet in order to download automatic updates for my old laptop. Something Ubuntu doesn't need to do for some reason.
Win7 is for newer PC's only. Some old D800 nobody uses anymore it doesn't care. Typical Microsoft.

I've got a free Windows 7 offer from my college, I plan to install it on my laptop and see where that goes...
yes, you pick a router during setup
I only had to install 1 driver
win7 has replaced my linux machines
In windows 7 there are several new features and the main thing is that the installation is fast than other OS.
