Hello everyone, the second phase of the Starcraft 2 beta is now live but appearantly Blizz are having major issues so they are constantly fixing things.
Anyway, i belive that in a few hours we will all be able to enjoy the sc2 beta once more. Oh and this time we are probably going to have a bunch of awesome custom maps.
By the way, some of the changes are:
All AI difficulties are available.
All quick match modes are available.
Ultralisk is immune to stun and mind control.
Infestor's Frenzy ability has been replaced once more with Infested Terran.
And a few more changes...
So, good luck everyone, have fun and hope to see you in game!
PS. If you are having errors while donwloading the new patch, just wait and try again.
Edit: I just noticed that i wrote "phae" instead of "phase"... If a mod can change that ill be thankful.
Ive been sucking it up in phase 2 IT's fun though.

Well, I'm boycotting Blizzard, so... not that I feel like playing SCII right now, though.
@Zhar
And they put you in the Platinum league, didn't they? Or Diamond. Or w/e the top league is now.
Oh, shit, you boycotting them over the whole Real ID thing?
Personally, I was close to it, then they announced they were scrapping Real ID, and all my faith was restored.
Now, I've really realized that I shouldn't be so quick to trust them right after that, they scrapped a plan which never should have been considered in the first place, let alone put into action.
So while I'm really happy they scrapped it, I'm also still wary of Blizz, and will probably never view them the same :/.
Yar, got placed in Plat.
It's not the top league, now there's diamond :/.
Though, I like how it works, you actually have to earn your way into diamond by playing, you can't automatically place in it.

You know thats called getting played, right?
Even the topic in the main D3 forum here was closed. Wow, talk about working as intended. They just throw a stupid idea about forum names, one so ridiculously stupid that everyone whined about it, and obviously remind us of RealID in the process. Oh, and then after all the outrage, "hey, we're not doing the forum name part after all".
Nothing changed. Some people even disliked RealID before and liked it after, I'm sure. Maybe thats not really what happened, but it bloody looks like it to me. At least, I've never seen something that makes me doubt them so much.
But hey, apparently I'm some paranoiac guy who thinks every fishy move is some sort of attempt at controversy. But big company with power fool people. And big company don't pull off that kind of stuff for nothing.

Naw, this is exactly what I realized after the joy of Blizzard reconsidering passed, I realized that it probably was a publicity stunt by Blizzard.
Hence, the reconsideration of trusting Blizz all over again :/.

Or they made a bad call, listened to the fans, and decided that having real names on a forum wasn't all that important in their plans. Which is a much more plausible explanation for what happened rather than grasping at every straw for a conspiracy behind the scenes.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

What Phrozen said. Occam's Razor, etc.
I'm as cynical as the next person, really, but not every Big Corporation is out to fuck with you, at all times, out of some sense of greed.
The only thing Blizzard got out of it was a lot of fan backlash and bad publicity, and the idea is that they knew that would happen and did it on purpose just to get in the news? I doubt it.
It's like me calling up the newspaper and telling them I just raped and killed someone, then denied it after the story hit, all so I could get people to know my name.
Anyway, this is really all off-topic, so back to the SC2, yeah?
Having a blast, sitting near the top of my Silver league right now. Zhar and I had an epic 2v2 yesterday that was a lot of fun. So feel free to add me and hit me up if you want to play! Friend ID in an earlier post.
True, but still, it's hard to deny that this was a plan that should never have been implemented in the first place :/.
While I do still trust them, and was very happy that they've reconsidered, I'm still going to be much more wary and distrustful of their decisions than I was before. Bottom line is, the fact that they actually intended on implementing really goes to show how disconnected they've become from their player base. Yes, they did reconsider once the fans tripped and they got bad publicity from damn near every website than ran a piece on it, but again, this is something that they should have known the fans would have disliked, even the fact that they said "we're fine with people quitting over this", shows that hell, maybe it wasn't even the fans that made them swing away from Real ID, could've been the bad publicity.
Either way, I'm really never going to view Blizzard the same way I once did, ya know?
edit: YAR, back to SC2.
From what I've seen, there are no new 3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 maps, hopefully they get on that soon...
Haha, man was that ever an awesome game. Was back and forth the whole time, they'd mount a massive attack on our base, we'd push them back, we'd counter, they'd push us back, all the while we were struggling for map control.
Fucking awesome game, I didn't even feel bad for losing :D.

This isn't about the news as much as its probably about the reaction and line of thought of the majority of their fans. They just straightened quite a few of time.
And I believed that before: not every big corporation is out to fuck with you. I don't agree with this anymore. At least, not in gaming (which is the only place I know enough to comment on). There is now no company I know of that would not backstab their fans out of greed in a good deal.
Or they made a bad call, listened to the fans, and decided that having real names on a forum wasn't all that important in their plans. Which is a much more plausible explanation for what happened rather than grasping at every straw for a conspiracy behind the scenes.
How can a company so big, with so many people and certainly more than a few people making that kind of decisions, could not foresee the impact of such a decision? This isn't a simple mistake or a simple "oops" thing that doesn't matter. This "mistake" is too big for me to simply call it that.
And I'd rather believe in a conspiracy where there is none, than believe there is no conspiracy when there is one. Its not like I'll do (or can do) anything about it.
People have to remember that the majority of what comprises the 'Blizzard' we know and love is mostly caught in the middle here; a lot has come out over how far from the top this was handed down (no, not from Activision, so save the hate, but definitely from higher-ups); the fans spoke loud enough that even way up high they had to listen, things got changed.
That shouldn't stop us from being fans / trusting Blizzard in general--this kind of thing has been very rare, and when it's been bad, they've retracted. A company like EA would have told us all to go fuck ourselves and done it anyway.
No company is perfect, Blizzard among them, but I think it's fair to keep things in this light.
Anyway!
Yeah Zhar, it was just insane; and not bad for only my second 2v2 ever on a map I'd never even seen before, haha. You know you've got a fun game when you can lose and not even be mad about it.
And yeah, no new maps. Wonder if we'll see any before Phase 2 is over?
i'm getting really bashed right now, got to train some to make sure i wont be sitting in the lower bronze leagues
still fun to play, though, just got to figure my build orders a bit better.
Yea phase 2 is awesome. They totally misplaced me in silver league. My epic 4 wins and 18 looses I should be in bronze........ I dont understand why they put me up there where everyone can kick my ass.

For some reason, it seems I've gotten better since the first phase ended.
Went 5-5, stomped every single one of my opponents, seriously, you should see these replays.
Anybody, feel free to add me! I kinda suck, but I'll play.
