Alright, as a few of you may have noticed, photoshop is the most overpriced peice of software ever. I wanted it so bad that I spent an hour trying to find a keygen w/o a virus, I spent a hour downloading and installing photoshop, and I spent my last hour trying to get the keygen to work (and then it didnt work right so now I only get another 30 day trial). In the end I found myself wondering why the fuck adobe thinks its reasonable to price it at $1000. In my opinion Paint.net kicks its ass for free. So I ask, why would anyone buy it? Why does Adobe have to be a dick? How does a program worth $1000 that has competitor thats easier to use, free, but without some of the stupid filters (that you can get with addons) stay succesful?

Isn't there a cheaper version? one thats only $100 or $200? Cause I know that there's two versions of Adobe Premier, one is for home use thats only like 100 or 200, and the other is for professionals thats 1000 bucks.
You can get advanced addons for free.
I cant honestly see why its easier to use.
Can you honestly say that it was worth it?
Have you done anything with it that you could not do with paint.net?

$649 is cheapest cs3.
most expensive is $1600.
Actually I got my Photoshop from my teacher(I was apparently the best at Photoshop in my class, though that's not saying much.)
I really do think it's easier though. Then again I was using Photoshop longer then Paint.Net anyway so yea...
wow, thats crazy prices. And yeah, there are a lot of features of photoshop that I don't use, nor do I know how to use. I'm only now starting to use all the different paint brushes lol, and a lot of the filters I don't use. though, I do enjoy the filters that I do use. I think its really easy to use. But yeah, they should make a cheaper version for casual home-users. but not Imageready, that thing sucks. Actually, any lesser-version of photoshop that I have used is really hard to use and really sucks. I have CS2, but I kind of got it from my dad's work. Its not completely free, but mostly, yes. Though, I don't have the CD, so I can't spread it around.
EDIT: oh my god that paragraph is probably the worst thing I have written since I was 10.
The main reason it may have a high price is for commercial usage. E.g., if you are not going to commercialize, you are expected to pirate it. Same goes for Autodesk products.
You can't really say photoshop licks balls as a lot of businesses use it over any other software. Also as Equinox explained you are expected to pirate it so i'd simply say is find a keygen or a crack.
I can say that it licks balls, and I will, continuously, until the end of time.
If it wasnt so damn expensive Im sure that people wouldnt pirate as much.
They do have a free online photoshop called photoshop express that just came out, but it too sucks balls.
When i installed P.net it said that if i paid anything for it other than donating at the p.net site i should get a refund. lol

Exacly. Adobe doesn't expect home users to buy their product for 1 000$, and that's that.
However, pirating has helped them in a way. Photoshop has become the be-all end-all. There's (generally speaking) no denying that it's the best program there is. So it's received great attention in the world that it wouldn't have received had not so many people pirated it. And they didn't lose any money on it, since had they not pirated it, they wouldn't have bought Photoshop, they would have used a cheaper/free program.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

this is not part of my post, this is a signature, it's not a really big signature for now but maybe some time later it will have cool pictures and more information and stuff on it like from games or some other things i don't know
Gimp is way below Photoshop. My dad tried it for his photo editing, he said it can do only like a percentage of what Photoshop can. It's like using Blender against Autodesk. Sure, it's free, but it's free for a reason.

Srlsly, if they have a crack, then people who could pay for it would use the crack too, because Adobe would just say "Photoshop is free". They cannot say "Photoshop is free for non-commercial useage", either, because commercial usage is not always easy to track down. Forcing people to pirate it at least makes people use their heads for a sec, and makes them fearful of going commercial with pirated software.

Unfortunately, we're not allowed to talk about software piracy since it's illegal, so I can't tell you where to go for it.
Unless you add me on Xfire or msn or something. *Cough cough*
