Man what is it with blizzard and over the top shoulder armor. The dh is passable but the barb, bring down your fantasy medieval rpg geek level down a bit (a whole fucking lot).
Bashiok - Blizzard Representative - 08/01/2011 -"So how many skill combinations are there now? Well taking into account 6 active skills, all the rune combinations, and 3 passives we currently expect each class to have roughly 2,285,814,795,264 different build combinations."
"Hey, I thought you'd like the witty irony of grub-on-glowie violence!"
The pants, gloves and boots all seem abit bland compared to those extravagant shoulders which i do like. I would love to see some more hooks and barbs/spikes/claws to make it more menacing.
That's always the way blizz has worked with sets super over the top helm/shoulders and then the rest of the set is pretty bland. check out any/all Warrior tiers in WoW if you want a perfect example!
Can we get a preview of some Crusader gear now please

Yeah I remember a long time ago there was a blue post about how they like to go all out with helms and shoulders in WoW because its the most visual pieces of armor

The reason they've given for the over-the-top shoulders, at least in WoW, is that the shoulders are the most visually recognizable part of the character's silhouette. So, they make them big and crazy on purpose so they pop out from everything else.

I disagree, I absolutely love the over the top armor! This IS fantasy btw, just with magic / zombies / demons instead of magic / different races / dragons.

Right.. because we're playing a ultra realistic european medieval simulator called diablo 3. I don't know how old you are but this style is what blizzard has been known for, for the past 20 years. It's not going to change, so get used to it or stop playing blizzard games. The barb set looks awesome btw.
Yeah man, fuck me for having a different opinion and not licking blizzard'sballs to everything they do... freaking scrubs, don't you dare speak against D3 people, don't you dare!!
Blizzard just posted another new set preview on their Facebook page, this time it's the Barbarian!
Check it out:
Here is the DH preview they posted a little while back, as a refresher:
Digging the barb set
I do not like the armors that much, I think it is more the shoulder armors look too top heavy for the Barb. I wonder if it has built in Thorns Damage
Does anyone know if these are specific sets, like the Golden Ox set or the Earthquake set, or if they're just the next tier above Archon Armor?
Since the shoulder have giant bull heads on them, I'll take an educated guess and say its the Oxen set.

The new barb armor looks great!

Pretty sure that's the Oxen set for Barb.
