I think it would make the game look even more amazing than it already is. If they made corpses stay on the ground after death it would be cool to have the battlefield with tons of dead monsters. Right now monster corpses despawn after a couple of seconds. In PoE I think they stay there forever or at least for a long time, I'm not sure, I don't play it, but yeah, that's the one thing I like about PoE and I think Diablo should consider adding that.
There already is a clutter density option. But sure, they could boost it to make what you ask happen. The issue because of which they haven't done this is the slowing of the computer as more stuff is on the screen.
Sorry I find it funny that you don't actually know if PoE does it, yet you say they do =P
I disagree though on the concept. Since blizzard upped the density by a HUGE factor, I think it's just a needless tax on everyone's ram to have hundreds of dead bodies stay there forever, and I don't think it would really do anything for the aesthetic of the game, unless you're constantly hanging around / kiting monsters to one area. I personally move from zone to zone, so having bodies stay there permanently doesn't make much sense.
In PoE there's a reason for corpses to exist: raise skeletons and spectres.
In D3 there's no reason for corpses to exist.
This. It'd be a pretty major change to make corpses interactable items in D3. Otherwise I don't think having them there just for visual effect really adds much. After a big fight the few seconds of gore splashing around is sufficient for me at least.
You'd be surprised imo, having tons of dead bodies all around you as you kill more monsters making them pile up is definitely something that makes it even more enjoyable.
I don't know if computers can handle 50-100 ragdoll corpses, but I'd love sending 50 skeleton corpses flying with a Wave of Light when I go for the killing blow on that big monster
The longer the corpses stay on the ground, the higher goes the age group that is allowed to buy the game. Iirc when bodies stay indefinitly on the ground, the game is automatically 18+
Like someone said - since mob density, having corpses (even very simple one) would create hell of a load on your PC in some areas. Think about Decaying Crypt
It would add to the atmosphere, though, to have some more gore and stuff. But not sure to what extent this is possible without ruining the game experience by having ~100 more elements on screen. Like Zero said - maybe once a mob dies, he can be turned into a non-interactive, 2D object... and of course, everything optional.
It would make the game 18+? Oh noes... what a shame (i.e., do it NOW). Or sell a different boxed version, "D3 uncensored".
I don't know... I like it the way it is right now. I mean i couldn't care less if corpses stayed longer or not. I think they got it nailed down pretty good.
