Hello, for anyone who's participated extensively on the ptr with mob density, what seems to be the best place to farm white mobs? I've heard Fields of Misery and Weeping Hallow as well as a few sewers in a2, anything else I should try out in a few hours:D? As a side question, is anything being done to itemization this patch? Thanks!
Fields and Weeping are both commonly sited as standouts. You should probably hit the jail (where the Queen and the Warden are). I thought it felt reminiscent of KD2 when I went through it in PTR. Halls of Agony is also an area that a lot have singled out as being much improved. I'm not sure I'd say Halls is a great farming spot compared to others, but it is one area that shows a very noticeable improvement. Spider caves would be good as well but given the xp nerf to spiders/scorpions it might be as good as it may have been. Moon Clan cave, Festering Woods and the Watchtower should all be worthwhile to visit as well.
I ran through A1 from cathedrals to the Butcher and pretty much every zone felt a lot better. I can't speak to A2 though as I never did get around to going back and playing through it as well.

After doing a full a1 clear through drowned temple, including caves and whatnot, the only parts that felt decent so far were weeping hollow and fields of misery. Moon clan cave in fields was decent.
I've noticed fields has few elites. Weeping hollow has lots of elites (I think I was even fighting 3 packs at once). I haven't tried festering woods yet. So you might want to do festering woods (including caves), weeping hollow, then end up in fields (+ keywarden).
Just finished up doing Act 1 from start through Skeleton King.
Everything feels a TON better. Hell there's actually monsters in the cemetery now, although I think that might be somewhat of a joke? I made 3 full bars in 74, which is about 42 million XP. That's *way* more than I was getting before 1.0.8. I'd get roughly 3 bars for a full Act 1 run before. Some of this is because NV is multiplicative. Most of it is because there's a ton more shit to kill.
This is what my group has been doing, which has been great.
Start in festering woods and you should get 4-5 stacks.
Move to Leroics Manor, clear it (there is now an elite in there always like before)
Continue to clear Leorics Hunting grounds
Weeping Hallow (we stopped after checking cemetery for elites)
Fields of Misery.
Also, turn up the MP to the point where you are plowing through whites. So MP will vary by gear. I also strongly recommend a farming partner for the exp buff. The more the merrier as they say.
We tried a few areas outside of what I listed
Halls of Agony/Cursed Hold: While it felt buffed it didn't feel worth running.
Defiled Crypts: We only tried these once but also we didn't feel they were worth running. May try again
Pony Level: Density is certainly buffed but it makes my eyes bleed so I'm leaving it out of our run. Worth considering though.
We only played on MP3 so that could explain lower density compared to other groups. Again, I'm not all for the MP0-1 craze. If you're geared enough MP3 should feel the same as MP0. And that doesn't require amazing gear, if I can do it.
So far my favorite has been Fields of Misery, used to run only keeps, glad that I don't have to deal with those bombing mofos anymore lol.
On a side note, as much as I love the increased density, sometimes it feels awkward how certain packs are so close to each other and stuff, kind of feels like all Blizzard did was just copy+paste packs ignoring how they're spread lol.
act 1 is my favorite area right now but I haven't done any real number crunching. My group pretty much plows through MP10 and it was kind of funny last night we had to spend so much time plowing through white mobs to get to elite groups that it's been a long time since I saw my valor stack timer so low.
Our run -> cemetary (there is sometimes an elite outside, but each crypt has at least 1) -> festering woods -> leorics manor -> fields. We looked at weeping hallow and even did it a few times, but even though the density is MUCH better, we didn't feel like it compared to the other areas as well.
For those of you doing Act 2, you definitely need to do the mines and road to Alcarnus. Sometimes you can get 5 stacks with just those two areas.
Me and a friend are going to try and do some timed runs, only done a small number so far so don't have a ton of data... but, here's around what we've found. please note, this is hardcore so we won't be turning the MP up too high.
Act 1 (MP1, two players): ~35.7m xp gained in 33 minutes, 1m xp/min.
Route: Festering -> Cemetery -> Weeping - > Fields -> Leorics -> Northern Highlands -> Halls 1 -> Halls 2 -> Warden -> Halls 3
Act 2: (MP1, 2 players): ~31m xp in 35 mins, 900k xp/min
Route: Black Canyon -> Road south to Maghda -> Road North -> Oasis -> Desolate Sands -> VoA -> Archives
So far just 1 run for each. Plan on doing a massive track of each zone to see where the big areas are compared to others. But we also are doing a lot of gear hunting and both enjoy longer runs to shorter with repetitiveness.
Great replies! So far it seems like everyone's been getting all nephalem stacks before doing any serious farming, is farming JUST white mobs a thing of the past now?

Act 1- Festering Woods > Weeping Hollow > Fields of Misery. (key)
Act 2- Desolate Sands (until finding) > Vault of the Assassin > Dahlgur Oasis (key)
Be sure to run with a full group (if possible) as the new multiplicative multiplayer buff is very noticeable.
