After nearly a month of constant testing and statistical analysis (I logged all my runs in each specific area in act 3 - exp, time, and elites). I used these stats to build the most effecient run possible. After testing and tweaking the run, I compared it to the all famous Alkaizer run. The outcome was the same every run: Around 20% on average more exp per hour then doing the classic Alkaizer run (Which I also ran through quite thoroughly and in the same fashion). Check out my short video, which I explain the run and share some of my findings. Feedback would be awesome!! Cheers guys!
ps. 20% of 10 billion xp (Paragon 100) is alot of hours of grinding act 3... Just sayin' -hehe.
Skycrown first to get stacks is a nice change. Too many times I've done core > tower 1 and only had a 2-3 stacks. No matter where I went after that, I would be wasting xp due to not enough stacks.
Awesome thanks for posting this it really is what I was what I have been looking for, for about a week or two now.
Few questions you can maybe answer that is making my brain hurt here.
1. Why use a leorics ring? Hellfire ring would give more xp AND godly stats. I understand the SOJ but leorics?!
2. Cull the Weak? Damage slowed enemies for 15% more damage. With the current build I do not see how the enemies would eve get slowed unless I am not able to see your gear slows them?
If you can let me know on these two questions it would really help me out. I have a little different gear but everything seems to be working out pretty good still. Here is my gear and setup if you, or anyone could check it and make suggestions that would be great!
To the OP and the path:
I doubt that Rakkis is anywhere close to Keep2, Arreat Crater 2 or even Fields of Slaughter. Also, Core of Arreat is so extremely fast that even if it has little white mobs the chance to encounter elites and goblin should easily compensate for it.
Tower of the Damned should be done anticlockwise because that let you check the area close to exit for elite without actually going there blindly.
Rakkis doesn't have the mob density of Crater 2, but it's more "constant" and thus my Archon never wears off when running Rakkis. In Crater 2 you can run out of mobs and end up having 1 minute cooldown on Archon, so at least for wizards Rakkis is 2nd best after Keep 2. I really like Fields, but they're definitely worse than Rakkis.
Totally agree to Tower though - should be done counter clockwise.

1- TBH I got lazy and just decided to dish out the gold on a leoric's rather then Hellfire. I can already one shot most, so I figured it wouldn't save me THAT much time. I probably will snatch one up asap though!
2- I am using a cold SOJ and cold dmg slows enemies as long as you are using a physical attack and your weapon does physical damage (which iis why im not using a manticore, as it does poison dmg). Cull of the weak actually works on the FIRST hit with cold dmg, so essentially im doing 15% more dmg.
I am really interested in your spreadsheet numbers, because the video (i watched it) is your usual blabla talk..
The runs you did are totally inefficient and there isnt even a video proof for the 70mil XP/hour
regards =)
edit: huminator, give me your leorics instead of your follower!
Normally I would love to share my logs... Maybe if you had some decent manners. On the more positive side, you should try it out yourself if your are in disbelief, as the run only takes around 15 minutes

I have no idea if your run is really as efficient as you claim, mostly because I do not care about maximizing efficiency so am generally quite slow at paragon leveling. But I would just like to point out that using manners as an excuse for not sharing your actual data sounds like a giant turd of an excuse to me. If you really discovered what you claim might be the fastest possible leveling run in the game, you should be so excited about it and so interested in claiming full credit for it that you WANT to share all your data to prove how awesome you really are. I'm pretty damn skeptical after seeing this post...

if you could give a summary of what your trying to do it is a lot easier for us then trying to piece together what your doing from other posts.
If your run takes you 15 minutes it is probably slow.
When I was doing calculations I was doing it on the speed that it took me to clear a zone and the number of legendaries I got from the zone out of 100 runs to get a ball park on if it was useful or not.
I then optomized based on legendary drops vs time, which is not the same as xp.
I then can run basically any of the waypoints to compare it vs the benchmark numbers relatively quickly.
Or try other zones like vota but so far the modified alkaizer route with rakkis and keep 3 is the best I've encountered.
I do stonefort just for the key but its not faster, I've done skycrown before but it was inconsistent for the run times and with some dead space can lead to wotb down time

Waypoint to Stonefort Take the Door, Run Skycrown Battlements to End, Teleport to Town
Wayport to Tower of the Damned Level 1, Run the Circle
Wayport to Keep Depths 1, Enter Keep Depths 2, Teleport out at The Breach
Wayport to Rakkis Crossing, Run the Fields of Slaughter, Wayport to Arreat Crater Level 2
Run Arreat Crater Level 2
Restart
It takes me a little under 12 to do the entire run on average. This run is specifically made for xp/hour and not loot, although if you add the core and the caverns of frost in the fields of slaughter, it will be perfect for loot, as those two zones are extremely high in elites, but they will drop your exp/hour.
skycrown is actually just as xp dense as FoS and ToTd, and it also has a much higher elites/min and total elites then all of the top zones. so it is perfect to start a run with, as you get a quick 4-5 stacks without xp loss on the higher dense zones.
so wait, your whole strategy to save 20% time is to change where you get your stacks? Why didn't you say "do alkaisers but start at stonefort and run backwards instead of core of arreat"... then your video could have been 7 mins shorter.
Am I missing something?
(edit) did miss the bridge before fields of slaughter
skycrown is pretty good, i'll have to try it again.
I would still recommend to start at crater, while it isn't as xp dense as the other zones its fast and has a high legendary ratio for time even though your not at a full 5 stack when your doing it

Forgive my bluntness, but your missing more then you think my friend. Alk doesn't even have Rakkis...Rakkis is the highest xp dense area in the game,. There is everything from grabbing the shrine at the end of FoS so you can run Arreat Crater 2 at a possible exp boost, to Getting the fastest five stacks while maintaining the highest xp possible (core is so slow and combined with ToTd, you may not even get your 5 stacks!!), while stonefort you will get 4-5 elites veyr effeciently. But no matter how you word it, the point is I was trying to come up with a faster run. AndI wanted to share what I found with this forum.
I do something very similar to this run, it's a mix between yours and alkaizers actually.
I start off at core like Alkaizers, I like this zone because it has a 1-3 champ packs and is small. wp to the tower of damned 1, also small, 1-3 packs, if I don't have 5 stacks I wp to tower of cursed 1, relatively small 1-3 packs. Once I have 5 stacks I head to raxxis, work my way backwards to fields of slaughter, run a circle around the fields and wp to keep depths level 1, head to level 2, clear it and teleport to town. stash the items i have and then run to skycrown battlements, clear it and stonefort.
The only area you need to know your way around if keep depths 2, which is pretty easy, the exit is always left, so I always check going right first. If i started on a bottom entrance, I do right then bottom first, if I started on a top entrance, I go right then top first. This method usually helps me finding all the champs without backtracking, "much."
Correct me if I'm wrong but iirc it's something like this.
Core = 1-3 packs
Damned 1 = 1-3 packs
Cursed 1 = 1-3 packs* I only run this if I was unlucky with packs in the first two zones.
Raxxis = 3-5 packs* Since I don't clear the top part I never count on getting the min or max number of packs.
Fields of Slaughter = 2-4 packs
Keep Depths 2 = 3-5 packs
Skycrown Battlements = 3-6 packs
Stonefort = 2-4 packs + keywarden
Hmm so this is alkaiser run but he run skycrown instead of core of arreat?
Imo a faster way is to do core of arreat then tower of the damned lvl 1 and IF you dont have 5 stack run keep dept lvl 3 from the end to the start ( so this way you never get stuck in a deadend) . There is alway 2-4 pack in keep dept 3 and its a very small map .

How is it the alkaizer run? lol...
He doesn't have 2 of the 6 zones that are in my run... (including the top zone, Rakkis). Thats 33% of my run. And I don't have Core. The route is completely different..

Skycrown > tower of damned > crater 2 > fields of slaughter > dephs lvl 2 and that gives me around 80-85m xp/hour as a witch doctor.
I use Leoric's Signet & Hellfire ring.
My follower also use a Leoric's Signet & Hellfire ring
