Let's be fair, if you are going to do something like lower the cost of upgrading gems, SOLELY for the purpose of rolling jewellery, should lower the cost of re rolling. The majority of my items and off set items are in the 1.5 million gold range now.
I could just be an angry gamer ar RNG.

I hope so, although I don't hype anything blizzard says when they say they are going to do something, only because we all too well know of "Soon™" phrase ;pQuote from Zero(pS)

I've played about 6 hours on the PTR in it's current version and I have to say that it seems pretty well polished. I wouldn't be surprised if they might be aiming for a 8/26 or more likely 9/2 release of 2.1 IMO of course.
That's not too far fetched to be honest. Josh said at the Gamescom stream that they aim to release Patch 2.1 within the next "couple weeks", so yeah... 2.1 hype?

I was really starting to lose faith in this game, but with the AH now having a doom counter, loot 2.0, ROS, mystic stat rerolling, crafting that will not suck, paragon 2.0, transmog, and new content to reward players who play the game the way it was meant my hopes are much higher.Posted in: News
Only two problems I have is 1) Really hope the targeted drops are a lot better, and I mean a lot better, and 2) wish it was sooner. -

I agree on the part that buying a new version of something only it fixes problems of an old one is bad thing. Unfortunately its easier and quite a doable thing for a gaming company. Afterall price of a game is a small percent of car price, and its kind of aceptable for an avarage person to get 'newer' so it fixes problems of older.
Same as with DLCs to other games that add end game content or proper end of story line. Its kind of like a cheating but its what game industry is like now. Its bussiness, and no one cares what people think as long as they buy the product. Hence why we have a 'batallion' of comunity managers, so a company knows to what extent they can manipulate on people so they still buy their product. At least thats what i think.
I'm also excited about expansion pack but to be honest what they can add apart a new act and a new class or two? Runes and runic words? Maybe an 'open world' that they mentioned latley. Rest of it would be an overhaul of items, crafting system and propably skills (maybe so that we have synergies) and that basically would be it.
Repaired stuff will be sold as a 'new' one, people will be excited for two weeks and than i bet we will have another year of patches
I totally agree with you. There would be some more initial excitement over the content and perhaps new systems with a lot of patching and balancing of the mechanics but at the same time it is my feeling that I shouldn't have to pay for virtually a whole new game to get the things that were intended to begin with. I know that with some DLC they are very cheap and absolutely worthwhile to get. A good example is things for mass effect 3, or Skrim, where the mouth content added versus the price is quite good. Where I have a real problem is the price point blizzard has set for their expansions in the past. The actual cost of the expansions are close if not the same price of the originating games. Let's take a very recent example StarCraft 2. The heart of the swarm expansion pack is still $40 that most retail stores and I think slightly less on some digital stores. When the original game came out that was $60. My understanding is that expansion is only giving you 20 munitions with very few other content additions other than things are target for a complete different audience like the multiplayer modes. To be honest it's really hard for me compared the sort again to Diablo because it is a real-time strategy versus an action RPG. But the point is expansions tend to be a lot less lackluster for the price point and content versus the original game.
Of course I'm actually going to buy it and throw all my money at blizzard because unfortunately they do make quality games that have some awesome replay value. But the same time I think there started to lower their standards for what they consider to be acceptable additional content expansions for their games. Honestly I would be quite happy to pay a monthly fee for additional content that is released every other month or every few months then have to wait longer periods for actual expansions. A good example with the same gaming company would be the World of Warcraft series. Yes that game has insane amount of people playing it and they already have four expansions but in between expansions they do release content additions and updates. I would be more than willing to pay that $15 a month if they can apply the same structure to Diablo as with Diablo this sort of play style and game is more in line with my preferences than an MMO RPG.
Yeah the other side to this whole equation is that we are still willing to deal with things like DLC and lackluster expansions. Is great for the gaming market with the same time you have to provide quality or people will lose interest very quickly. Goebbels a great example of this currently because in its current state a lot of people have moved on to other games and services while waiting for blizzard, rather the development team, to make Diablo into a point where it has much higher replayability and the flow that it was intended to be at release.
There are a lot of things that are still missing that we have been promised that we have not received over a year later. A great example of this is the PVP system. With me to state for the record that I don't like PVP and a typically stay away from that sort of thing because of my lack of ability when it comes to that sort of gaining. But they said that at release it was a good be included but will be included at patch later on and they have been saying this for a very long time and yet the only thing we have gotten out of that is the brawling system. Truth this is a form PVP is nothing like they were advertising prerelease as to having a ladder system and rewards that would go with all that. They keep changing the tone on it. While I have released into the game with a currently have it seems like a very small cookie compared actually getting the cookie jar.

no problem. I was just messing around with ya.
Great posts btw. Quite insightful.
No problem I figured you were messing around me and I do not take people to seriously on Internet just because of the general nature of it.
I'm trying to add meaningful conversation other than just rage flaming posts. More often than not I see a bunch of people not having reasonable discussions and actually have talking points other than saying I don't like this and that. Typically a very quiet on the forms but this topic currently really has gotten under my skin because of the sheer arrogance the blizzard is exhibiting to us. It's sort of has the same feeling that Microsoft try to pull with the new Xbox in regards to the no used games and all the other various restrictions. Honestly I'm not sure how much longer people are going to take the way blizzard is treating their customers laying down. If we had the same sort of problems that are currently in Diablo the put into their flagship game of war craft I can almost guarantee to you that they would have a resolution in under a month. Of course we are talking about what is making the money so of course that would be there primary incentive to get things where the players are happy.
You can't make everybody happy but you can make a lot of people happy considering the diehard fan base of Diablo. -

@Kodaijin: There's a small little button on the bottom of each post saying "MultiQuote". Try it out, might come in handy at some point ;-)
Agree with most what you're saying, but you could've condensed it a bit by addressing some of the people in bulk instead of writing 4 (!) consecutive, individual posts (and without Vulmio's interruption your streak would've gone to 5 ;-)).
Yeah, I really need to use that more often >_> I have gone ahead and just condensed them into more single posts. Now to figure out how to remove the other ones... -

I bet they are still in the idea phase and that they have nothing concrete to show us. I also bet they have one coder and the rest of the guys just go get coffee when they have dumped their orders on the coderguy.
God knows they probably need more than their fair share of coffee. I'm sure they don't have anything concrete to show us and is still in the planning phase but the same time they have been talking about the changes and improvements they want to make two patches ago. Taking that out of the equation it has already been a few months since the last patch with no word on what we should expect to come other than "loot changes" and "itemization".

It's funny how people want "communication". People don't want "communication", they want patch notes. Blizzard is communicating a lot : about the console version, fan art, etc... check the official D3 website. But this is not the "communication" you want. You want to read "Next patch will introduce those changes : ...". So don't be hypocritical, ask for patch notes and not "communication"
Of course patch notes would be fantastic but that is not what I was trying to say. When I say communication I mean specifically about the changes they are doing or are thinking of doing. I am by no means being hypocritical in wind to know what is actually going on for what they're planning to change.
Allow me to be non-hypocritical and very clear and concise as to what I am looking for.
I would like to see information of what they're planning, what is actually being worked on, and exactly what stage the process varies things are at.
Yes there is a lot of information on stuff that is not pertain to the changes and improvements to the PC version of the game are in the official website. I do not consider even remotely fan art and community spotlights as well as information about the console to even be closely relevant in terms of communication. To me is more like filler when you are trying to take a two-page essay and make it into a 40 page or larger report. -

If you have Emimei's Duffel, they have no delay on exploding, however giving the other options for quivers and skill combinations, it's still not worth it. Even if they removed the delay and removed the legendary (would not happen), it is still an under powered skill that has not many uses.
20 hate is low (multi is 25) considering if you grievous wounds the burst on it is very high with the right combination of stats. However like you said, no AOE and that is a problem when you need massive AOE. The rune overpentration dose pierce but again not much in line for aoe when you have options like elemental arrow lighting ball. I like the idea of ricochet kind of like barb's skill, but it would need a lot more than that to really help. Here is my other thought on it, if you have all aoe skills, it basically comes down to what has the best syngery and supporting items.
Caltrops is bad all around, I am in agreement with you. I don't understand what you mean by 180 degree to cover an area, they are activated by proximity in 360 degrees. Caltrops could be better I think by making them a debuff in addition to the slow. Like mobs under the effect of caltrops take X% more damage from all sources. The rune bait the trap is a good quick buff for more CHC but when you are rocking 40%+ it's very minimal bonus IMO.
This basically would be the 'OH @#$@#' button. I like the idea but I think if they changed it to be if you use any skill or action other than moving it removes the effect. That way you are not using it and just running way out of the way. Personally I've never really used SS because it's very lack luster and it's easier to just avoid getting into bad spots and then tumble out. If there was a big CD on it, there would not be many other things to dump DIS into.
Shadow power is worthless. Even with the change you are thinking, it still is not good enough IMO to take up a slot on my bar. I don't know what would be good but it needs to be different.
The problem is not the skill it's self, but what we can use dis for. Regenerating hate was the idea a while back, but then blizz changed it, now it's worthless. It's again a skill that solves a problem that dose not need much help. Hate and disc are not in short supply, part of playing the game is going to be managing the resources.
I have to agree. It either needs an overhaul or remove for different more interesting skill. DH are ranged no melee.
I would rather see this just combined with caltrops and eliminate this skill for something else.
Agree the CD could be reduced or a way to reduce the CD of it, however the runes I think are mostly good. If you push the runes too much, then this skill becomes the end all be all skill that everyone will figure out a way to reduce the CD on to almost nothing. Kind of like how CMWW used to be.
Good idea but leave the cd where it is, just incress damage and area of effect. Rework runes a little. 30 second cd is reasonable. 1500% base damage is not.
TofH: yeup, change it.
NS: It wont go back. It was too op and basically if you did it right, gave you permanent SS. You have to take damage or be in danger sometime or it's not fun.
Brooding: Needs to be changed, like you said, if you are not moving you are doing something wrong.
Archery: Uhhhh I don't know why you think they are not good bonuses, they are in the top 10 across the board of passives used.
Perfectionist: It's a great skill if you are have subpar gear and need more survival. Could it use a little more of a boost? Sure, but have to be careful how it's done becase we don't want it to be a mandatory skill.
Sharpshooter: Needs to be reworked, but the way you are recommending would still put it near the bottom where it is now. If I was asked, I would make it increase crit based on the amount of crit damage you have as a %.
Single out: If the radius is reduced it would be TOO good, again want to have that balance of good, but not mandatory.
Over all most of these items could use a little help but some should just be left alone, while others should be reworked. The problem is a lot of the items and set items make you choose what kind of build and play style you want to do. Some are better than others of course but some are just not worth it at all. Build variety is better when you have more items and sets that encompass more skills and the skills them self's are options and not requirements.
All IMO of course. I'm not hardcore or super high paragon or anything like that.

Ok so I'm not really sure what to do. I see people who are in worse gear than mine (at least I think), and are blowing through T4+ where I struggle with T3 (normally just rift on T1 because it's doable). I have yet to get a kridershot yet since I hit 70 (got one in frist dungeon on 2.0 @level 60), and i've spent every shard trying to get one and not dice yet. I'm wondering if that's even the way to go. I'm looking for all help more or less. IE my build, play tips, what gear should I look for or re rolling stats for ect. <3

So right now as it stands I'm playing on my DH (best geared and most fun for me to play with right now) and I can comfortably do T1. I 'can' do T2 but it's much slower where it's almost double the time it takes because I need to swap out to more survival gear (approx 40% drop in damage). If I go full survival I can do T3 but it's super slow (over 90mins) to clear and I most likely will die a few times. So what is really the best way to approach this? I know I need better gear but it's just a matter of time to find stuff and a bit of luck.
The other question I have is when rifting do you go through kill what you need to spawn the boss then TP out and start over or do you stay in there and clear everything and go as far down in the dungeon as possible because of the legendary bonus in a rift?
Also what is the quickest way/method of getting rift keystones?
Thanks everyone for taking the time ;p

Also big gratz, that is very epic, and I can't imagine doing a fight that long.

Well I can't say because I have not looked at them all but a lot of them will for sure make a player think about using it and trying something different. True that a lot of DH's will want to get that bow and play with it (my self included), but it's just one option.
Things like the power leveling are broken and abused which is why they balanced (or nerfed depending who you talk to). Personally I would, and have, found it boring as heck to do the same thing over and over again. Having high xp/hour is nice, but at the same time there is longer a paragon level cap so eventually we can have all the stats maxed out but the two core (I think it's like paragon 800 or something). In the amount of time it is going to to take to get to that paragon level I'm sure the amount of gear and the state of the game will change. If I make it to paragon version 2, level 300 I'll be amazed ;p

Well if I was a developer, I would want structure for the player but not force them to do one thing or another, and I think that is part of the path they (blizzard) is trying to go. I am playing on a few toons on Torment 1 (can do 2 and 3 but I sweat some lol) and I'm a very very casual player where I pick up the game for just a couple hours maybe once or twice a week. So either I've been very lucky with drops or it really is just that much catered to casual players.
I honestly don't think there is at one point going to force us to do anything, although maybe a guided path, sure, but if they wanted it as open world and do what ever we wanted all the time, I suppose they would of just made a sandbox type game. If players who want to learn more about the game they can for sure look up stuff, go onto forums, and talk with other people about what they do, but it's not the only way to play. Good point for this is the redesigned legendaries they just did, like the demon hunter bow that makes elemental arrow a resource generator than a spender. It makes the play style with a different build totally different, but that is just one example and a certain build would work way better if you have that item, but it's just one isolated example.
If people are copying your build for your wizard (and now I want to see my self) then you should be totally flattered, you found something that works great for your gear and skill set, but it's not the only, best, end all, way of playing that class. Not calling you a liar or anything just now got my interest peeked and I'll keep a look out on the wizard sub.
Things like rifts and bounties I'm looking really forward to, as it will add just that much more to max level toons that we desperatelyneeded for a very long time now.

It almost sounds like you where doing some bullying at the same time. I realize that for some the PVP aspect is still a driving force for people, but you have keep some prescriptive on this. All the Diablo games are dungeon crawlers and not PVP games. Yes, they have promised pvp in some form than what is currently in the game (brawling/dueling)and I agree that I don't like it when a company says they are going to do something and not (Political representatives anyone?), but it is their game and we have to play the their rules. There are plenty of PVP oriented games out there, and a ton of free ones so let's not get caught up in this feature that really was never meant to be the main focus of the game.
I highly disagree with this statement. Diablo 2 items, regardless of their power and stats and rune words, are still Diablo 2 items and not Diablo 3 items. That's like saying, my items from X Game where way better then my items from Y Game. The two games have different systems and because of that, the way items work are different. Yes in D2 we could farm certain areas for very certain items because it made since to, but now we have the choice to play where we would like to at any given point and are not stuck into doing one area, over and over again. I don't think the AH did anything but bad for the game, and I am glad they are removing it. The item progression for D2 is totally different than D3. If you want to play on the highest level, you do need to get the stuff to play in that area, that is the nature of the progression of D3.
This is why they are removing it (the AH), well one of the many reasons. You won't be able to just buy your way to the top anymore and with loot 2.0 it is much more streamline. Like it has been mentioned in previous posts, trading will still be out there but not like it has been before. The Diablo sires games are meant to be more casual than a Hard-Core-MMO-RPG.
This has been talked about over and over again. While I am on the fence about this I think it dose do a lot of good. We get fixes a lot quicker, the amount of people hacking the game and items is highly prevented doing it this way, not to mention all the other values of having the online only system. I am not ok if for what ever reason the internet decided to not work and I can't play when I want to, but that is so rare that I never even think about it. I have so many other things I do and not just a one game person.
There are a lot of great things from the previous Diablo games, but each of the games where a different game and a different play style. Sometimes progress is doing a modern take on an old idea. D2 was not the end-all-be-all game, nor is D3, in fact is very far from it.
It is still a Diablo game, just the next version of it.
