way to brag about your pc specs, obviously that ll run just fine <_<
Haha,i was actually thinking they could use me to test the game on high details or something.
They ll definitly want high end computers to try. Everyone knows blizzard wants to hear "omg the game runs so smoothly and looks so awesome on my computer"

Went outside today, the graphics were ok. But the gameplay sucked
No it wasn't. I am talking about the email that was sent out a month ago by bashiok to all the press sites and such, including diablofans. I was not a fake.
My bad... Just figured you would be talking about an opt-in key as thats what the OP was asking about =P
I'm wondering myself if there are better chances if you're using an older PC. My PC is overkill too. I might opt with my wife's account / pc. It's a bit older.
Was thinking of doing something similar also, but then again i think there`s more people today with medium/old pc`s then high end..or at least were im from.
Actually I think theres more people with high ends today than there were. Obviously the medium/old pc's still outnumber the high end ones though. (it was so surprisingly easy when i built my first pc.)

My pc was a beast a few years ago, but now days it's pretty average. Actually I'm going to have to replace my graphics card very soon if I want to play BF3. D3 might be fine on it, but I want a new one anyway. It's an nvidia geforce 9600 OC... so old now...
Anyway, my point is that I hope that my "average" pc will give me a good shot.
Btw just to be sure,yo apply for d3 beta, you only need to go on ur beta profile and check the diablo 3 universe box right?
You also have to run the system check App
Thanks mate ,did all that.Btw does it matter how many Blizzard games you have purchased?
As far as i know that makes no difference. They are looking more at compatibility so your system spec is what counts. Good luck with getting the key BTW

I'm sorry but why are you running 1280x1024 on a beast like that.
No invites have gone out to general public yet (confirmed by blue), only for press. Also when they will send invites, it will be 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday, North American Pacific time.
This week only Friday left for invites, and blue havent promised they'll send any invites tomorrow either, only when "we're comfortable with increasing concurrent players online." Concurrent players in F&F public servers were like 60 people, at peak! And still no additional invites, probably Blizzard has serious issues with servers beyond miniscule number of players.
Did they confirm that? Cant seem to find it :/
Not trying to start (another) flame war about weather or not public opt in key are out or not, but would be really nice to know for sure.
Yeah can we see a link to that blue post or something ?
No they did not confirm that at all (though from what we know we can imply it), and the quote about what times the invites can go out is also wrong, (he left out the "typically" part

Are the invites done today?
This is something we aren't likely to answer during the beta test. Ever. I know everyone's aching for a piece of the Diablo III action, but the testing process won't be well served if the forums are flooded daily with questions about beta invite waves. There is no predetermined schedule for the rate at which players get invited to test the game.
The Blizzard folk who are monitoring the concurrency trend of people online and playing, as well as the stability of the game servers, will do waves of invites as needed. When I say "as needed," I mean when the servers are stable and we're comfortable with the room we have to get more people in the game. We won't do waves of invites if we feel our infrastructure at any given time can't handle an increased concurrency.
Beyond that, there's really only an extra morsel of information -- small though it may be -- I can provide as to when invites might go out. They'll go out, as I said before, when we're comfortable with increasing concurrent players online. And they'll typically go out during standard business hours (9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday - Friday, North American Pacific time).
For those who make it in, I really hope you enjoy it as much as I do. We look forward to hearing your feedback. For those who don't make it in quickly, stay tuned for more information on other giveaways and promotions. Just try not to drive yourself crazy waiting to get in. Ultimately, this is just a test of a very small portion of the game to prepare us for the official launch, when everyone can play the full game!
One last thing:
WTB Blue Post
Threads shouldn't be directed at Blizzard employees. We frown upon it. The forums should be a place where players can discuss topics with one another, and sometimes with Blizzard employees. We don't want forum threads created, directed at us, just to get our attention. It disrupts the flow of the forums. I know it seems ironic this thread got my attention and I've responded, but I'm only doing so in the hopes we don't see a repeat of this thread tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and...

do u know why we got this wall of text?
am sure all of u know but for those who dont:
its because they knew there werent any public invites going out and that ppl would be pissed, so this was just a plug in our ass before we even thought of taking a crap.

I'm sorry but why are you running 1280x1024 on a beast like that.
rofl! seriously. I have a similar system and run everything at 1900x1200 without a hitch.
In this case they could easily split beta progress officially: Internal -> F&F -> Press & Media -> The unwashed masses.
For me, waiting for the beta is not very bad since I got enough stuff to do, however information withdrawal and willful deception (some call it trolling) is not making it easy to not be irritated.
Agreed, we have like tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of D3 fans often refreshing mail/acc after Blizzard announced beta has started, just to find out days later not a single non-media invite has gone out. Thats irresponsible IMO. Hype is great, announcements even better, but make it clear so huge fanbase endeavors to check if they got in wouldnt be futile, its not much to ask.
Agreed. There's something to be said about the etiquette of treating a loyal fanbase. People often like to say, "Blizzard doesn't owe you anything." Well guess what, we're loyal fans who've each poured time and resources into these games with our dedication. I personally have spent thousands of dollars on the games, Blizzcons, etc.
Why they couldn't work backwards on their project schedules at such an advanced state and at least give us a tentative TRUE beta date is beyond me.
For informations I can run Diablo 3 beta on Highest settings with this system specs :
Graphic Card : ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB DDR5
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 @3.06Ghz
Motherboard : ASUS P5B-Plus Edition
Memory : 2 x 2Go RAM DDR2
OS : Windows XP SP 3
More informations :
I received the beta at 7:00 PM ~ (Country local time) I live in Belgium
Voila !
Thanks for the information. So were you just a simple opt-in participant or F&F/Media?
Yeah if they don't get some invites out today a lot of people are going to stop follow D3. We already know most of what there is to know about the game without spoiling story line. Now they need to give usu some game time as news will likely start to slow down. No news, no game time, no followers.
Perhaps we will see some invites today... I realy hope so. -.-
I am counting on this aswell. This would help on the huge sadness, that hit us out of nowhere.
I got my invite on Sept 20th at 3:11pm. I have a friend who works for Blizzard, so mine is more than likely a Friends and Family invite. Timing was weird though, as I got the invite immediately after the closed beta was announced.
They ll definitly want high end computers to try. Everyone knows blizzard wants to hear "omg the game runs so smoothly and looks so awesome on my computer"
They gave media folks a certain amount of time to reply. It would be fishy if the email didn't have a deadline.
Actually I think theres more people with high ends today than there were. Obviously the medium/old pc's still outnumber the high end ones though. (it was so surprisingly easy when i built my first pc.)
Anyway, my point is that I hope that my "average" pc will give me a good shot.

8 days left.

that's just public games
i'm sure there are a lot of private games
Thanks for the information. So were you just a simple opt-in participant or F&F/Media?
I'm dubious until I see an email. Thus far, you'd be the one person receiving an opt-in invite.
Edit: not to mention 2012 delay!
