All runes are attuned to ranks 3-5 not just 5. Like the other person said. This is a band-aid to rush the game out the door. The only similarity to the rune system now is they call them runes. Thats all nothing more.

All that old stuff has been ripped out theres nothing left. The cauldron the stone the cube. The companion scrolls. The runes. Its all gone or changed in a bad way.

But as I have been playing the Beta... patch after patch... watching features be ripped out or changed... I am less and less excited about this game.

It's tough to make a call on how good this game will be right now unless you're an internal tester at Blizzard and have played well into the game. I admit I get a little worried sometimes when I see how the game is being tweaked, but I have also played every Blizzard game since Rock N' Roll Racing for SNES. Blizzard has never let me down before and somehow I doubt they will start with D3. Let's talk again in 3 months.

Yea but blizzard north was the branch that made diablo. And they have been gone since 2005.

some of you are talking about too many runes or you don't get the rune you want or not easy to use.... i think you are thinking of the Blizzard's runestones system.

-my idea is to make it 1 uncolored rune and it gets destroyed when removed so you will never have colored runes in your inventory so you only need 7 inventory slots.
-if you choose the color you want all by your self then there is no way you will not want the color you choosed??!
-and i don't find anything hard in my idea (you get a rune > you put it in the skill > you choose the color; the end)

If you do something like that you might as well remove the runes an item in all and just let people pick a rune they want like blizzard just did. Only the effects aren't limited by level. I would prefer to grind for my runes.

I think the changes are awful, the hype has rebounded, and the nostalgia is losing its luster. Yes D3 is not looking as awesome as when it did half a year ago.

The game is starting to look like duke nukem forever. Blizzards ideas were awesome last year. Now I feel as though they are removing the functions we grew accustom to last year. To make it easier for casual players. This game doesn't look as fun as used to.

Jay's right. No one will remember how long it took for this game to come out. We ll remember how they gutted the game constantly and killed it.

They can add an item called "scroll of rune-change" and you need to find this to change one rune. Then atleast theres something to farm. Problem is that Blizzard got rid of scrolls so i dont think they want this one ;)

    Good thoughts tho!

The problem isn't the idea of changing runes. But having to achieve a higher level just to use another rune. So instead of unlocking every type of skill mechanic at 20 just by finding a rune. Now I may have to wait till 55 to see a certain rune i really wanted. Or 60.

Because blizzard already said they aren't scaling runes to level or rank. All runes are pre-set to what effects were between the ranks of 3-5 runes.

If you don't like it just don't play the game. Stop crying over rune for god sake. There's not much to cry about. You will still have to spend 10 years just to get your gear so please stop crying.

I see no reason to think your post has a point. Your just trolling people who have a problem with the changes. If you don't thats great. Ignore what we are saying or try to throw a proper rebuttle against my opinion.

Heres what I think about leveling to get runes. If im leveling to get a new run all the way to 60. Then the runes i get closer to 60 better be pretty badass and make me want to use them. This is my problem. Because if they put runes in the game the way we wanted them when they were still items then we will have to wait to 60 to get some of those runes.

Instead of being able to get runes prior to 60 and still get the rune effects that we wanted. This is kind of forcing people to get to 60 or they might not get to experience the rune effects they want. I think they overly accepted the peoples wants to have something rewarded every time they leveled to fuel them to 60 and pushed it on the runesystem as a way to fix any problems with the runes that they had. Because as far as I know, equipping and changing out runes was probably one of the biggest problems when they were still items.

People cried that they wanted some kind of reward for leveling, so blizzard gave them the runes. I don't think that was a good idea. 60 will be a long strenuous task that a lot of people won't reach. It wont be D2 99 but it will still take a while.

I see no justification for a lot of the changes they have made, except to appease to a casual audience who will likely quit the game at normal and that will only take a few days, two weeks tops. I don't think blizzard wants to focus on their core audience who made them who they are today. And they are following the business bandwagon of focusing on the casual player.

I think the new rune system sounds awful. I hate it and unless I can test it myself, I feel I can only turn an ignorant eye to the whole idea. I don't even want to think that I need to wait to 60 just to use a rune that does what I want. And now I have to wait to see what the new witch doctor runes are. I feel as though blizzard is cutting a lot of stuff just because they want to push the game out the door now. Its like the half year between now and when they announced all this cool stuff never existed and now they got a deadline they can barley meet.

People were confused enough with how they might of implemented runes into the game and how they would work. And now instead of treating them like gems, its like they again put focus on casual players to make it stupid simple. Hey click this rune thats what it does now. Instead of inserting a rune into the skill and changing the mechanics.

posted a message on Wow Best Gameplay Video I've Seen
First problem, music was a bad choice. Loud and not fitting the situation. A lot of people think something sounds good and puts it on a video but most people ignore the gut feeling that it doesn't feel right. Would of been better to leave it with the games sounds and music.

Second problem, too much transitioning. The moment you gather whats going on the guy blacks the screen out and moves to another scene. And then does it again the moment you figure out whats up.

Third problem, the zoom effect is over used. There is no need to focus in on every event in the video. It felt like he was trying to use a technic a lot of other people use and honestly its not that dazzling.

Fourth problem, that wrippling effect. Am I supposed to be drunk when watching that section?

My own little picky piece. I don't understand why the guy put the barb, wizard, and witch doctor in the video if he only focused the demon hunter. It was ok to see them I guess.

A few good points though. The quality was good I didn't kick it up any because I didn't need to.
The video didn't seem to be too laggy so no problems with skips other than the transitions he put in.
He did well not putting ugly text at the beginning announcing the video and maker. But then he did it at the end with some cheesy text saying you ll regret not buying the game.

posted a message on Korea delay
Well, its been awhile since i ve posted here. Probably since sixen left the team. But heres my take on this whole fiasco. We've all been aware of the rune system since the start of beta. Its a system that they hadn't perfected to their liking an i think we can all agree that a system like that needs the attention to be done right. I remember watching a video from force with jay having asking questions about it and at that time, (this was back in august) jay had stated that the runestone system was one of the few things that really needed any work. Now since then I think we can all figure that either the system is a lot more complex than we all think, or its been done for some time. This reason that they've had so many months to focus on it is the reason why everyone is linking the delay to S.Korea. Blizzard wants a Global launch without leaving anyone out. That reason also gives sceptics reason to believe that south korea is the main problem behind the release. With blizzard being so quiet since blizzcon on diablo info more theories are popping up on official forums than at UFO conventions. Unfortunately if we were to say S.Korea would settle everything tomorrow, Blizzard wouldn't say the games good for launch right after. It would cause riot all over the forums and aggravate people even more because they were right and blizzard just didn't want to admit to it. Its just bad for their customers to do that to them. With the extra time though we also know that they are working on other parts of the game that could be better polished off. Not to say they are keeping the game from launching but as blizzard sees it, if we are delaying it why not fix more than just the RMAH and runestone system? Makes sense to me. In my honest opinion we won't see a release date anytime soon. Blizzard is very hush hush about everything right now. The most irritating part of it is they won't tell us what is holding the game back just that "things are getting polished for release". If anything the best time we could see a release i would think is actually before the S.Korea problem is solved but only to the point that they know they have reached a conclusion with S.Korea. Announcing it after its fixed to me is just problematic and would annoy everyone. As for any vital systems to the game. Its blizzard they have awesome servers i've never had problems with them i m sure they are ready. The RMAH probably just needs a few tweeks. The rest no one seems to be focused on so i don't see much to it. Unless blizzard states whats up themselves we won't know though.

    Quote from Fizpez

Pretty sure if you're both going to be online at the same time you'll need 2 copies - I'm also guessing that if you even want to install it on 2 computers (so you could play in your basement or attic at different times) you'd still need two copies.

I believe STEAM games allow you to install on multiple boxes but only play on one at a time but Blizzard uses their own distribution system so even that option is out the window.

not true. you can take your install cds from anu blizzard game and install it on every pc in the world if you wanted. the only thing that matters is who the game is registered too. The cd key only works for one person so its binded to that bnet account.

The information can be passed around as much as possible but without your own key you cant do anything with it. Its not the game that matters its the key.
