I find their site to be extremely negative and that Flux seems to have a big chip on his shoulder. I know the guy has given a lot to the Diablo community over the past decade, but his personal opinions about Blizzard PR seems to have severely poisoned his thoughts on the game. Honestly they tout themselves as 'unbiased' because they report the good and the bad, but I just feel the fact that his personal experience with their PR has made him so bitter that he just drives to report what negative things he can, if he can.
EDIT: I'm not saying there aren't problems with the game, or that people's opinions don't vary. But I get an extremely negative vibe from their forum and I feel like that negativity is... if not encouraged, maybe guided? I don't know. I just know that their cynicism gets to me.
Diablo 3 = your girlfriend
Diablofans = friend1, loyal and can hold back
Incgamers = friend2, upfront and opinionated
If you know you'll be with your girlfriend for a long time, why hang out with friend2 that someday you might punch in the face for being who he is so I think I'll hang out with Friend1 more.
My bad if this is a bit too cheesy

I love all loot fest kind of game! I will be playing all of them for the next few years. Loot fest games I'm looking forward to: LotR: War in the North,Torchlight 2,Borderlands 2 and of course Diablo 3.
The interesting part of this is you display in this post just as much narrow mindedness as those you deface. Opinions vary, while granted there are a fair amount of people who lack perspective (it is just a game after all), trying to squash out diversity is a quick way to ruin reputations. I don't care about RMAH, some people do. Who am I, or you, to say that their opinion on the subject is wrong so long as they present their opinions well. The point of discussion is to understand various views, not impose your own. Objectivity and being open to accommodate others is key, Sixen is just as in question as Flux in my opinion. Neither of them present information in an unbiased fashion.
Closed minded? I dunno, it seems like he gave them a fair shot, and over time his attachment/enjoyment of their community lessened so he left.
He also didn't say that their opinions were wrong, just that he didn't like the opinions held by the general membership of that community; nor did he try to impose his point of view on anyone, as far as we know (it would be interesting to see if stating one's opinion is considered "imposing" it).
Judgement is a necessary action of the human mind. Understanding what reasons you have for making a particular judgement allow you to cultivate good (or at least better) judgement. I haven't spent too much time on incgamers (although i remember the site layout from a few cahracter build guides for d2) so I can't say one way or the other anything about Flux, but the diablofans staff seem fairly level headed and willing to examine a variety of perspectives.
They have a great Wiki and an odd knack for trying to incite controversy from every tidbit of info.
Some people don't look at it as being negative and toss in words like "truth" or "fact". That's an easy crutch to lean on there. You can dislike something but calling everyone else who disagrees as it's "catering to noobs" is like.. ok.. that's cool. Imma go over here and not be insulted.
If Diablo made me upset I simply wouldn't follow it. I don't care for lots of games but I never frequent their forums or fansites to tell people the negative thoughts I have on those games. That would be a waste of time for all parties involved.
As for Incgamers I think they are jaded and have taken to acting like D2 is the pinnacle of game design philosophy despite the fact that the glaring flaws in that game were presented in the repetitive patterns players choose. ie like Baal runs and a few singular char builds.
I don't see this place as overly optimistic at all. What you might mistake for optimism is usually, just reiteration of the news, using similar phrases and diction that correlates with the official news, released by Blizzard.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Diablofans articles are not biased. Our writers are just humans after all. And most of said humans, are fans. So, of course there is going to be some excitement and optimism. We here at Diablofans are really excited for this game and hope you are too. So when you come here, we want the atmosphere to be welcoming and exciting. After all, these truly are exciting times for fans of this awesomesauce franchise.
If you want the most up to date news on Diablo 3 to the very minute, this is the place you should be. Criticize how we do things versus how someone else does them all you want. The fact still remains that if you want to know whats up with the very latest of Diablo 3, come here, because we deliver.

I was a lurker on both websites early in the day (back when Starcraft 2 was still a rumour), and from a couple years of experience, I can 100% say that IncGamers is a joke. Plain and simple. Diablofans and many other websites are so much better I can't even start comparing the aspects.

im just curious, does anybody know why incgamers wasnt invited to the press event? i just find it to be a little odd to single them out like that, especially they have been to many of the previous important diablo events, and these events are suppose to get as much publicity out as possible, get the hype up, right?

I really enjoy the incgamers podcast,. Perhaps I'm just hungry for anything Diablo-related. The Kotick bashing is a little offputting only because it's pretty forced when it's brought up. And it is maybe an expected knee-jerk thought to assume Blizzard is doing RMAH out of greed, but it should be pretty clear immediately that's not really the case. Yet they presented that as a motivation for the RMAH on Blizzard's part.
Anyways, I at least find it well-made and a good listen.
But why would anyone who hates Blizzard make a podcast devoted to a Blizzard game? Probably most podcasts seem like they're made by fans because only fans would put the effort in, eh.
I want to hang out on a forum with people excited for the game, not a forum where everyone acts like yahtzee from zero punctuation and complains about everything possible in a game.
That is the part in general I was using for the description. This is not to pick on Gharbad, cause its no mystery that there are copious amounts of "trolls" and general malcontents within the incgames community but to paint all the members with the same brush is uncalled for. Im well aware there are numerous rage posts/threads which are nothing more than complaining on the incgames forums but there are just as many posts that are genuine valid concerns or general excitement for D3.
He also didn't say that their opinions were wrong, just that he didn't like the opinions held by the general membership of that community; nor did he try to impose his point of view on anyone, as far as we know (it would be interesting to see if stating one's opinion is considered "imposing" it).
I never implied stating an opinion is imposing it, but he made it seem beyond his capacity to handle that people had concerns...he may not be imposing he view but the way the post was written makes it appear he is unwilling to listen to conflicting opinions. I very well may be getting waaay too caught up in semantics but that is how it came off to me. Not sure why you are coming to his defense nor am I sure why I am belaboring the point.
As it so happens I agree with Umpa, Diablofans is the best place for D3 news...but I don't think its always the best place to bring concerns and neither is incgames for that matter. And now I lost my train of thought....ah well
Truth is though, they constantly update their site with pictures and info. I've been dragging that stuff over here for this community. I enjoy this community more, but wish the site had the frequent updates that IncGamers does.
I second this, i come here for the forums and the force videos and i go to inc for news updates, but then again ive had diabloii.net on my IE favorite list since diablo 2 came out, so I'm used to checking that site for updates.

I just thought you were judging a little harshly based on what he said, /shrug.
I just want to comment on our news VS their news a little.
I know it seems like sometimes our news is a little slow coming out, but it's not because we don't get it around the same time or before they do. Our news team scours the all of the info to validate, write it up, and hopefully make for a more interesting read, even if sometimes it takes an hour more.
We had to make a decision on quality VS quantity and though it's a difficult one we'd rather present you with something we're proud of and hopefully you all thoroughly. We also try not to cover rumors until they're fact checked, like leaks etc, we'd hate to post something up and it be completely unreliable and let you guys down. We never want to do that.

INCGamers is like if Fox News raped IGN and this was the mentally disturbed child created. Its a terrible looking site, terrible articles and seeming only mongoloids posting in the comment section. Another site that needs not exist, since there are many other sites that offer the same thing but in better quality.

Another site that needs not exist, since there are many other sites that offer the same thing but in better quality.
But is there something wrong with a gaming fansite to openly express negative opinions about the game? I mean this site is great, the people and staff are great and there's always updates and content, but they go too far in praising everything Blizzard does. I'm much too lazy to wade through news posts, but they seemingly stick in adjectives like "But Blizzard magnificently squashes the problems of the real-money AH by..." and stuff like that. They report the news and talk about all the negative feedback of the RMAH and other D3 news automatically on the defensive side.
Obviously, its a fansite dedicated to D3. But you're not showing the game the proper respect unless you critically evaluate all its aspects, especially the biggest and most earth-shattering of them. That's what turns me off sometimes reading the news on this site, it seems like blind subscription to whatever Blizzard does. I'd wager if they announced a subscription fee, no matter what the number, they'd be like "Well a subscription fee ensures the game will be maintained forever! And what's X amount of dollars a month? That's like not drinking coffee 3 times!"
Wow, 3 cups of coffee... You should come to my country, the price for a monthly subscription to an online game comes down to about the same amount as 20 cans of Coke, or 7 Big Mac meals. If we play online games it shows we are damn dedicated down where I'm from.
Anyways, I don't think its bad when they are trying to keep upbeat on a game. I mean, when you come onto the sight and the news feed reads something like: "RMAH!!! Are you F***ING me Blizzard. Why don't you just F*** my mom while your at it." Then you wont really feel very hopeful about the game. whatsoever, and your opinion of the fansite will plummet. Plus, I bet you Blizzard wont take them seriously and invite them to events to cover the needed information. You may think I'm exaggerating, but that's how people reacted to the news. What I will say though is that a certain balance is needed, which will just give the news more credibility.
Besides, just because they say something you don't agree with doesn't make them blind followers. I for one applaud RMAH, and I think it's brilliant. In the past I have wondered why Blizzard or any other company haven't tried it themselves, I mean, third party sites has it, so why not feature it officially.
In fact, I'm still reeling to understand why people so blatantly oppose it. Other than just to moan for no other reason than to reach their desired moan quota for the week.
Lastly, I just want to add. I have heard on the force videos where they'd talk about an issue and then one person will like something, while another wont, and they would then proceed to give their views and talk it out. The guys on this site aren't blind fools in Blizzard's pocket. You can see they are excited fans, but they're still keeping a perspective. So I would definitely say they try to do the information of the game justice.
And like Don_guillotine said, there are a few things that bug a person (I'm also not too thrilled about the new rune system ideas), but it's better to keep a fresh perspective and stay hopeful before you start flinging poo around. I mean, we haven't played the game yet, and we all want to, so why get negative when it's pretty much unfounded.
