I have determined with absolutely metaphysical certitude, that no one will ever farm act3 inferno without spending 2.7 billion gold (precisely) on gear.

To show that I'm not trolling. Both my monk and my wizard are good. I've gutted the wizard a little for the monk.
But I've beaten the game with the wizard and I could beat it with the monk if I felt like it. But this doesn't put the game on farm status.
Act3 makes either character die 20 times unless I just make the decision to skip certain packs RIGHT away. Monk--Fast, Molten, Firechains or something similar? SKIP. Wizard, Fast Vortex Phase Beasts? SKIP or certain Extra Health/shielding or w/e Mortars, because I am just guaranteed to get randomed out by 5 mortars at once sooner or later.
lol .. I can feel your pain somewhat. I been facerolling A2 for a while as a wiz so I decided to give A3 a try. The first pack I get a a fire chain, extra-health, jailer, fast. It took multiple deaths to down. I should have just skipped. I have had these same packs in A2 and handle them without issue but in A3 I just seemed to be getting chain hit with jail. I mean no sooner would I get out of one I was smacked with another.
At least blizz said they are going to tone down how often the packs can use their special abilities, They should have some sort of cooldown on them 1.04 as we have on ours. That being said I can farm A3 it just takes about twice as long and costs much more in repairs.
I thought about gearing my monk for farming and maybe someday I will. But until then I will be content steaming through A2.

Yea...
That's the difference between A2 and A3. Fire chains in act 2, slightly annoying; Fire chains in act 3, INSTANT DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent 60m gold on my barb (S&B, not WW) that kicks the crap out of act III (but for a few really tough packs, but they still die), so... ummm.... search for better deals?

Kicks the crap out of inferno, meaning you can beat it? okay that's nice. Can you beat a fast, molten, desecrator horde pack of those little imp things that explode into poison? Or horde arcane sentry with walls?
Rhetorical question, answer is no if you get unlucky whatsoever. All it takes is improper walling and 50 sentries to slice you up

No, that was a typo; I meant to type "Act III". See the edit. Yes, I rarely run into a pack in act III that gives me trouble. When I do (maybe twice per run) I still kill them, though I may die once or twice. Yours was not a rhetorical question. If you're so convinced that this is impossible then you simply don't have much experience with people who do well in act III.
I gave up on my Wiz because I was sick of kiting (though my Wiz is slightly better than yours and I could farm act III with him).
I've spent nowhere near billions of gold, let alone hundreds of millions, and can easily do a full A3 clear in roughly an hour with very few deaths, killing all bosses and elite packs. This is from a WW barb that got in early on the spec before it became so popular, so my items have probably only gained value, but I doubt they're worth even 200-300 million now (and I paid much less awhile back), let alone 2 or 3 billion.
Your problem is Glass Cannon. Also, more Resist All, more Armor, more Vitality and A LOT of health regen. Energy Armor + Crystal Shell works best if you have a lot of health regen (at least 1000 unbuffed).

Just to respond to this specifically because I was more general earlier....
My barb has defense. This game is about defense. You can have half the dps as someone who can easily farm act III but, in the vast majority of situations, you will do just as well as long as you have similar defensive capability. Instead you have focused on dps, so you die a lot.
I can sit in the middle of almost every pack I encounter and just burn them down. Only a few combos can kill me and for them I simply have to move around a bit more.
My wizard. I farm act2 all day every day and faceroll everything I see, barely slowing down to pickup loot. I can do the exact same thing in act3 but its slower so i farm act2 instead. Get better gear, do some research on your class, spend time learning how to play instead of crying on the forums.
FYI: Way less than 50mil spent on gear. Most of what you see has actually dropped while farming act2 and act3 (believe it or not)
Edit: I forgot to mention. If something kills you instantly (like firechains) maybe try standing in a corner so the NPC's can't surround you etc. Creative thinking in this game will help you a lot.

I can honestly say that I farm act3 very easily (tornado barb) and can beat any packs including the one you mentioned if I have my WoTB slaughter CD up. For 90% of packs I kill them pretty easily without the CD aswell.
The gear is pricey but that is with 200% mf unbuffed, getting the same stats without the mf should cost a reasonable amount.
700+ resist all? Hah. 40k life? LoooL! 50k+ DPS? jajajajaja
30-50 million gold spent total? MREHEHA!
You sure? My gear is not even over 50M and I can farm A3, not at the pace that I do A1 but its already a "farming state" for me.
Farming state? Meaning you only die 15 times?

Act 3 is extremely easy and efficient to farm.
