I saw a lot of people complaining about how the Barbarian looks older, I.E. not young like he was in the original game.
At the panel, one of the designers said that the Barbarian in Diablo 3 is the same one from Diablo 2, so he's 20 years older, and has seen and went through things that would kill any normal person, and they wanted to give him a rugged, worn look. (paraphrasing what he said)
I know it has probably been said before, but I figured I'd make a thread, so everyone who had a worry about that would know the reason it's like that, because if it's been said it's probably buried in another thread somewhere.
Hmm... I wonder if they bring back any of the older characters from Diablo 2, if they will be older as well? It would be weird to see a sorc with gray hair! Haha..

I really like the new barbarian. He's actually more of a badass now, it seems like. The guy's probably pushing 50 and he's still ripped as hell and swinging axes with the force of a freight train. If anybody doubts the awesomeness of that, I have lost hope in their judgment.

The Diablo 3 Barbarian: His Mid-Life, Your Crisis.
I think the main thing that I loved is that all of his abilities have actual 'oomph' to them. A lot of martial skils in D2 were lackluster in terms of visual effects. Bash? Oh, I swing like normal with tiny effect. Double Swing? Oh, I swing one weapon after the other, slightly faster. Berserk? Similar to Bash but with a slightly different effect on the barb.
Each one of the skills in the demo looked awesome. That shockwave skill especially.
yeah has already been posted in buried thread or im thinking that cause i already read the interview and thought it didnt deserve a thread lol yeah i think the barb is awesome 20 years later!
Yeah, after all that's happened I kind of picture him with a new mentality. Before he was like a hot-blooded young guy that just lived for the thrill of the fight. Now he's got a bit more of a grizzled, standoffish thing going on where you can just glean by looking at him: "Trust me, I've seen a lot worse than you. And if you don't stop waving that thing in my face, I am very capable of turning your head into a wall ornament."

Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!

Yeah I know exactly what you mean, he's going to be so much more visually appealing to play!

I think the paladin was the tanned in D2. Nowadays game developers try to cater both genders and ethnicies as much as possible.
Various races have to make sense, though. If ALL barbarians come from the same mountain, they're all going to be of the same race. The Diablo series classes have always seemed less like a career, and more like being a member of a specific tribe/organization.

I agree, he is looking pretty bad ass. Most weight lifters reach their biggest bulk in their 40's anyways

Meh, I really doubt she can 'sense evil' or whatever. She was probably just excited about a shoe sale or something, coincidentally when evil was about.
