Currently I use a Litany for the 7% reduction against elites. If my math is correct however, it doesn't seem very significant in terms of total overall damage reduction.
Unbuffed I have 4399 armor for 59.45% reduction and 718 all resists for 70.52% reduction. This would give a total damage reduction of 88.04%.
If I add the additional 7% from litany that would bring my total reduction to 88.88%. So that's only a .84% additional reduction.
Doesn't seem worth it? Is my math correct? Is that .84% significant?
This is for my CM spec. My armory is in my sig if interested. Thinking about dropping the litany for a higher dps ring with AR.
I think of it as taking 7% less damage from elites, which is pretty nice. Another way to look at it is it's worth about 70-80 AR, so you can swap AR from one piece and "double up" on the litany if you feel inclined.
I dropped the litany for a higher dps ring with all resists (and higher crit too which is nice). Can't say I miss it. I did some mp10 uber runs and didnt' notice a difference.
as far as I Know, that type of damage mitigation is calculated before your actual damage reduction so it goes damage > elite reduction > missile/melee reduction > armor> resist

Since they are all multiplicative, it does not matter which order they go.
