lol@people crying about my luck, I farm a ton. I have days where I get nothing at all, days where I do find souls and days where I find 5+ set pieces throughout the day.
I don't really mind that the end game sets are difficult to find. I'm just sick of finding blackthorn's parts. I feel like I'll have six complete blackthorn sets for each of my toons long before I find a second piece of any of those class sets.
Sounds familiar.
Sigons and Isenhardt anyone? This set is a loot table filler, though far more useful than the aforementioned D2 sets. Diablo 2 romanticists conveniently forget how much D3 loot dynamics actually resemble D2 loot dynamics.
I have always suspected that the "RNG" doesn't work right. This past weekend I got wailing host, litany of the undaunted, another litany of the undaunted, two zunimassa's trail, a zunimassa's pox, two blackthornes pieces, multiple set (green) plan drops (these count I believe)..
And there have been other periods of 5 - 10 hours of rifts where all I get is legendary component craft mats and crap legs. So.. yea..
"RnG is RnG yo!" - except.. I still highly, highly, highly doubt it really works...
Explain to me how you can clearly describe a random scenario while claiming, somehow, this isn't random? I just don't get it?
I see comments like yours multiple times daily, where someone will describe their utterly random drops, all while claiming RnG isn't actually random.
I don't think people understand the difference between RnG and drop tables.

See, this is the problem: every set that's not a class set/torment only is crafted, except blackthorne's, which has the same level of drop as regular legendaries. That's why you see that shitty set so often.
Class sets either need their drop rates buffed, or crafted sets need to be moved to drops, or set items need to be able to be found on Kadala. Something needs doing so that we're not just getting 298718761 pieces of Blackthorne's and maybe one so-awful-a-rare-is-better class set piece.
Hmm, to be frank its not that bad, I do believed its really RNG after reading all the posts. I started ROS as Paragon 322, currently standing at paragon 448, playing mostly barb all the way. So far I have collected, hopefully good luck will come your way. I have been doing mostly Tor 1 rift by the way, and best of all, i did it solo most of the time.
IK Set = Helm X 2, Mighty Belt X 1, Boot X 2
Earth Set = Shoulder X 2, Pant X 1, Helm X 1
Raekor Set = Shoulder X 2, Pant X 1, Chest Amour X 1
I don't understand why everyone wants Set items to be so easy to obtain, It's the best gear in the game, The WHOLE point of playing the game, Shouldnt you want it to be a very special exciting thing when it does drop? I enjoy the low drop rates. It makes it that much more special when you do get it!
I think this threads should not even receive this much attention. People complaining about how difficult or little rewarding the game is have already done damage in the past.
Without ladder, I consider the actual set items drop rate way too high. It has been little more than a month, for Bul Kathos sake!
About 50~ hours clocked in on RoS (with my Wiz). Almost always on T1+ and with a group. 1 Firebird's Pants (really bad rolls), 1 Vyr's Chest (absolute worst roll possible in int, crit chance, and affixes). Another 20ish with my Crusader (after lvl 70 iirc), and sets seen on him.
That said, most of it was playing on the first couple days. Been 3+ weeks since I really did a long "farming session". So I haven't really played a lot with the buffed Torment+ Rift ratios.
I see comments like yours multiple times daily, where someone will describe their utterly random drops, all while claiming RnG isn't actually random.
There's no such thing as RNG on a computer. The correct term is Pseudo-RNG, or PRNG, because a computer can't do "real" random.
What people are saying is that Diablo 3's PRNG system might be flawed. It happens frequently, even in the most robust cryptographic applications, so it *might* be possible. I'm not saying it actually *is* flawed (that would require extended statistical data that we don't have), just that it's quite possible.
I wish we could see some kind of Option to buy 2 of 6 piece's from a vender. Random stats. High amount of farming needed. say 500 blood shards, 50 forgotten souls, 10 million gold. Or even Double that price.
I have seriously played 10 hours a day since release ( i have no life and i am not afraid to admit it) i am still lacking my Earth set. 1 Peace of 4 has dropped. i now farm t5 and t6 and I see more greens, however it is apparent that they are adjusting Loot drops almost every few days. RNG is not RNG always. Some servers are dropping nothing but rings, Bracers. Other Servers are dropping weapons, 2 handers, and more rings.
This will drive out players, not make them want to play more.
the reason i complain..... There are 5 other classes I wish to explore, and after this long grind to paragon 450, I want to put the game down,
I remember grindy games like Aion, Mirigents quest. Even that was more rewarding, and if you played that Game You will know what I mean.
sorry for my rant. just wanted to leave some feedback on my total experience so far. Don't let my bad drops discourage you. My friend just hit his 5/6 ahkarat's tonight, after 10 hours a day since ros release. you can do it..... after.... awhile......
I feel your pain, i have like 150+ hours on my crusader and all i have is set shoulders, its frustrating as hell the game even went so far as to troll me and i got DH boots while playing my crusader... on the plus side they did roll really well
The only solution which doesn't make the drop-system too ridiculous would be to put legendaries into several tiers. Difficulty affects the tiers of legs which might drop. Like Blackthornes and Crap is Tier1, High-End Class Sets are Tier 3. Tier1 drops until Master, Tier3 starts dropping on Torment1.
After 1 month, It's been a month since RoS right?Playing approximately 4-6hours for first 2 weeks and 3h daily post that, exception being weekend where more hours are put in I have received RRoG after I think 25 or so tries & Fire bird 2pc. I also got some blackthornes like 4 pieces but all tell me it's shit set.
I feel set items should remain rarest but do need slight bump from current acquisition rate yes.

The quicker you get all the gear you want and need, the quicker you'll start to complain about the game is boring, there aren't enough items, there isn't enough ''end game'' content. This game is all about gear literally that's it now, you can't PVP really, there is no trading, GEAR is the life blood of this game (despite them fucking it up royally)
its a catch 22 I guess..people will continue to rain down tears of QQ no matter what I suppose.
Soon we will read that the AH was the best thing ever happened to the franchise because you could get a piece of gear you wanted to complete the set.
Every bloody day there is a thread about Smart Loot not being 100% smart, so it's bullshit; or there is a thread about conspiracy about RNG not being RNG with account flagging and star alignment; or not being able to get the whole set after a month into an ARPG.
the reason i complain..... There are 5 other classes I wish to explore, and after this long grind to paragon 450, I want to put the game down
Holy fuck me in the ass. No shit.
See what I mean people?
We've always known that the people who grind harder and faster burn out first and then come to tell us that the game is bad because they spent 100 hours per week on it for four weeks and didn't do anything else at all during that time period.
My issue is not the drop rates, at all. My issue is that every set item I've found (excluding the COMMON ones) has had rolls that make them unusable. IE: they're inferior to legendaries I've found because I've found so many more legendaries that the chance to get a good roll in that slot is much better.
If something is going to be rare there HAS to be some general safeguard that it's not going to roll into something outright useless. I shouldn't need to find four or five Jade Harvester's Shoulders before I have a chance of equipping them, ya know? Not with how rare they are, at least.

The decline in players should be proof enouth, that the Droprates aren't fine.
1 Set Piece on a 10 Hour Gamesession (1 Day) isnt to much to ask for.
It still gonna be quite a while before you finish your "perfect" Set.
I've looted 1 Tal Source (RoS release til now)... quite a Joke actually.
