Hey guys, I have some questions that I am hoping people who have seen or played the friends and family beta have the answers too. =)
1. Has the randomisation of environments/assets in acts 1 - 4 changed at all?
2. Do the different difficulty settings offer anything different besides extra challenge? Eg: Does Normal provide better chance of loot than Easy?
3. Does Adventure mode offer any additional randomisation to map layouts compared to story mode? Apart from Nephalem Rifts.
4. Have they removed the cutscenes and NPC dialogue from Adventure Mode? Eg: Can you still speak to NPCs around town? Going to the butcher, does any cutscene play? Etc...
That's all for now. Thanks to anyone who can answer any of these questions, much appreciated! =)
Gold and exp rise with each level. Once you get to the 4th + difficulty, the chance for legendaries and legendary plans increase, and new legendaries can drop.
1. From what I've watched in streams, everything in Acts 1-4 as far as content goes has not changed.
2.Normal - *75% Extra gold/xp
Hard
*100% extra gold/xp
*Bounties award double currency
Expert
*200% extra gold/xp
*Bounties award double currency
*New legendary recipes can drop in this difficulty
Master
*300% extra gold/XP
*Bounties award double currency
*New legendary recipes can drop in this difficulty
*New legendary items can drop in this difficulty
*250% bonus legendary drop rate
*Additional gold/XP/legendary drop rate per slider tick
Torment (I-VI?)
*Legendary drop rates are doubled.
3. Besides Act V's completely random layouts, I do not believe so. 4. Yes, although boss encounters show a brief pause where cutscenes would be (the game seems to mute dialogue and automatically skip them).
You're one difficulty ahead Ethezial. Normal is baseline and has no effects. Push down all other rewards one level and remove the "doubled" drop rates and you have yourself the actual stats.
1. Content has slight changes. Doing bounties you'll see interesting things happening in the old Acts. For example killing Maghda for a Bounty - she has many changing cultists in her room that constantly morph into brutes (or whatever they're called), besides her normal mobs.
3. No.
4. There is no story at all, so nothing to stop your gameplay. Besides the, like, 1 seconds black screen that auto-stops in the places where bosses should be.
Ok cool! Thanks for all the responses guys, very much appreciated.
In terms of the difficulties, I was kind of scared that this would be the case. =(
I was hoping the difficulties, besides the torment difficulties, wouldn't add any additional benefits but essentially be optional for people who wanted just that extra challenge. But it seems if you want to be the most efficient in obtaining gear, gold and xp, you are forced to play on higher difficulties. Now that kind of sucks.
I heard on Diablo Forums that Acts 1 - 4 were conforming to the RoS updated engine where things can be further randomised, but clearly that was complete rubbish. Really sucks how they are not making any map changes to the first 4 acts, as these acts leave a lot to be desired (so linear and small). Oh well, can't expect to much from Blizzard these days. =(
I'm glad the cutscenes are removed. Looks like I will be playing through the story as fast as possible with a crusader just so I can finish it and get to the adventure mode stuff.
The other Acts are reused inside Nephalem Trials, but don't have added randomization on the current Beta build. I presume some will be added, which would make the old Acts essentially as randomized as 5. Will have to wait and see.
I've watched a few streams and I've notived that commodities such as the RoS-version of the tome of secrets, iridescent tears etc seem to be BoA as well? what's BoA and what is not?
is there anything except gold worth trading in RoS?
Probably only rares? Maybe those which are 1 stat away of being really powerful (so they can be enchanted)?
