You're on the Euro gamespot? In the US, it isn't on the list.
Gamespot and Xfire don't mean a damned thing, anyway.
Well, since those are casual gaming sites, and if Diablo 3 isn't on a top 10 list, that must mean that the general PC community is losing interest.
By that logic, Diablo 2 must have been forgotten within months of release.......
Comparing the releases of Diablo 2 and 3 shouldn't even be brought up...there wasn't a decade of anticipation between Diablo 1 and Diablo 2. There were other games similar to Diablo around 2000 also, Baldurs Gate being the best one, Divine Divinity, Never Winter Nights....
Were any of those titles still front page news on gaming sites 5 weeks after release?
Just pointing out the massive flaws in logic. No matter how much you want to qualify Gamespot and Xfire as some form of metric of Diablo 3's success, you just cannot, because, well, they are bad metrics for pretty much anything.
You really want to "prove" that Diablo 3 is "dying"? All you have to do is wait a couple months, either its alive and well, or its not, simple, no?
In D2 there was leveling and better geared helped you reach the almost impossible 99.
D3 has no leveling (1-60 in 10hours?) therefore gear is useless and the game is boring. There you have the difference between D2 and D3.

People were powerleveling to 80 in a few hours in D2 for years.
99 was hardly "Impossible", heck, after the most recent ladder reset in D2 (right before D3 launched) many, many people had hit 99 within a couple of days.
After you got to a certain point in D2, you just plain outleveled the entire game, making it faceroll easy.
At least in D3, you cannot really outlevel the content unless you have literally the best of the best gear in the game.
Lmao @ people making decisions based on gaming websites ranking. I don't know about you people, but I make the decision on whether I like the game or not based on my own opinions.
Who is this aimed at? Not me, I'm certain, if so, you didn't read my OP.
I didn't need to play through the game 3 times to realize what I was doing was boring and dull. If Act 1 was different each time I played, then yea I might want to play it again.
You honestly made me laugh out loud.
So let me get this straight… Games you “think” have high replay value should have multiple Acts (chapter, levels, etc) and the game should remember, “OK DrStrong played this Act before so let’s give him a completely different level and story and character this time. Hmm Let’s set it in the future this time with robots and light sabres.”
YOU HONESTLY THINK that a game should be completely different every play through or else it’s not worth your money? Can you name a game for me, from the same or similar ganre that was designed not only to have completely different levels and endings but also give a completely different story every play through?
Not only are you new to Diablo, you are probably new to games in general. That’s like asking why the first level of Mario Bros is always the same and predictable. It’s like asking why do I have to read the same dialogue every time I play Final Fantasy 7. It’s like asking why you have to shoot and save the exact same people on Modern Warfare each time you play the game again. It’s a naïve request and it shows how ignorant you are. There really is no way of having a conversation with someone who demands ridiculous things like that.

Just a quick FYI
Diablo 2 did not ship with level 99. That was added in with the expansion LoD. I can almost guarantee that the next Diablo 3 expansion will increase the level cap.
What you are doing is like comparing a turkey that had a full days time to be prepared, seasoned, and slow baked to a turkey that pretty much just came out of the package still frozen. Of course the first one is better; it has been properly prepared and is a finished product.
Ok so no one saw that diablo is off of the NEW RELEASES AND NOT FROM THE TOP 10 LIST, GO TO THE OVERALL LIST, NOT THE TOP 10 NEW RELEASE LSIT AND U WILL SEE. God ppl can be so fucking dumb
Diablo is in 3 on the top rated and in 7 in the overall on gamespot and yeah it is of the NEW RELEASE TOP 10 LIST

Yeah, people can't read. D3 is no longer a 'new release'. WoW is still #9 on that overall list, too.
Not that Gamespot means a whole lot, but, yeah, what you posted made me laugh when I checked it.

See, I like to reference the Xfire website. If you look at the playtime graphs of D3 and WoW, you find D3's playtime steadily (and at times sharply) decreasing and WoW's playtime steadily increasing since D3's release.
when players say they beat inferno and there is nothing left to do i presume they never played D2. My character completed D2 hell and i went on farming mephisto and occasional baal for a whole year. Diablo is all about getting stuff to equip or sell, if you dont get excited about IDing a rare hoping it turns out great, diablo is not your game.
Do to the trolling nature of this I would just like to say that I really enjoy fried pickles, I really think they are my favorite type of pickle. I really like them with south western style ranch. Normal ranch just doesn't do it for me any more. I really need that south wester tang. Also I just got a new t-shirt. This post is a horrible waste of time and the fact you read it this far is sad. It is not going to get any better. There is no deep insight. It is however still better than the OP.

See, this is what I don't get. People make claims like "you never played X" or "Y isn't your thing" based on their opinion of this sequel. I played D2 out the ass and I enjoyed the grind/farm of that game.
The grind/farm of D3 is distinctively not fun to me. There are dozens of reasons for this that I could list off, but you won't bother reading them and they've been said 100000000 times by other displeased players. It's a completely different game, regardless of it's title or subject matter.

Not valid, but thanks for your skewed opinion.
DiabloIII is still #2 on the PC-only list.
