Okay, about a month ago, the question was posed to Blizzard about whether the CE dyes would be tradable. The representative that answered stated that you can't put dyed gear on the AH but you could drop and trade the gear that's been dyed. This is extremely odd since Blizzard isn't in the habit of allowing people that didn't buy the Collector's Edition version of their games to have access to CE content.
There's been speculation (by myself and others) that this person was simply mistaken or misunderstood the question, implying that the answer referred to regular dyes but not the CE dye. Either way though, it looks good for CE owners.
If gear dyed with CE dye can in fact be dropped/traded, then it opens up an exclusive market to CE owners. They can sell their dyes to players without the CE. They can also dye their friend's gear, allowing everyone access to a unique look.
On the other hand, if the dyes are truly exclusive and they can't be dropped/traded; whether the representative was simply mistaken or misunderstood the question, (or Blizzard simply changes how the CE dyes are handled since the question was asked and answered) then the CE owners now have access to a truly unique set of dye that players without the CE will never have access to.
Regardless of how you look at it, it's pretty much win/win for CE owners. So my question to you is, what's your preference. Should the dyes be tradable, allowing CE owners the option of dyeing other people's gear? Or, should the dyes be exclusive, giving CE owners a unique look that people without the CE will never have access too?

If I'm not wrong, once an Item is put up on the AHs, it would return to it's default color. But if you use CE dyes on an equipment and do an in-game trade / drop, the person who receive that item would get to keep the CE dye of that particular item.
Personally, I've preordered CE as well and regarding your question, I think it shouldn't be tradable.

Based on the information we currently have, this is correct. Whether that information is accurate IMO remains to be seen. I'm one of those, "I'll believe it when I see it" people, because I just find it hard to believe Blizzard will simply let anyone have access to CE content that they've been advertising as exclusive.
That being said, even if it is tradable, it's still a great deal for the people that bought the CE. They'll be able to dye their friend's gear and if they choose, can opt to sell their dye to people willing to pay for it.

It reverts to Default color when traded, no matter what you use, in game or AH.
AND the colors of CE dyes are very mild colors that can be attained through regular means. CE dyes are just unlimited rather than single use. You can still get the colors in game.

Care to post sources to this information? Because everything I've seen about the CE dyes being unlimited 'pale' and 'rogue' dyes leads to them being Placeholder colors because they weren't implemented in the Beta. It's also been stated on multiple occasions that the colors are exclusive to the CE, which in of itself implies that they can't be found within the regular game.
As for you claiming the CE dyes lose the colors when traded, again, post a source because the only information we've been told by Blizzard is the exact opposite of that.

I like the idear of them being tradable so you can still get them if you cant afford the ce. On the other hand I dont really like how they look so prob wont ever use them if I got the chance.

I haven't actually seen what they look like in game. The only thing I've seen is just the CE dye duplicate Pale and Rogue colors, which I've come to believe are just placeholder colors within the beta files. Between that and Blizzard stating on multiple occasions that the colors are exclusive, I think we'll see something a bit more unique come retail.
I personally expect one of the dyes (probably Cloud) to look something like this for 2 reasons.
1: I didn't see any colors resembling this in the dye preview videos.
2: This is the color of armor being shown off on the official CE page. It would make sense this is what we could expect to see within the game.
This is just speculation on my part though.

I'm fine with it the way it works. If a friend decides to auction house it, it'll lose the dye. If they want to sit around in a chat room/game for 4+hours trying to sell it, then they deserve whatever extra gold/item they'll get for it. Exclusivity is nice, but it's not something that's a big enough deal that the colours will be ubiquitous. Other colours will likely be preferred anyway, different strokes for different folks an' all.
Well, it's nice to see people's opinions, but facts that are well known are being repeated over and over again. This really isn't a thread about whether you can or can't, it's just a question about whether you'd prefer if it should be or shouldn't be; tradable that is.

Should be exclusive. I'm not actually getting the CE, but I think anyone who is deserves as much exclusivity as possible.
i agree. I wouldn't mind someone selling their "exclusive" dye service, i'm not paying them for it, for me it's just some color on your gear anyways.
Plus i'd be afraid of someone who sells dying, to hand them my awesome gear hoping the will return it.

It's interesting that you say how you feel the most common colors will be black and red, because I personally think they'll be 2 of the rarest dyes in the game. Red and Black are two very sought after colors in other games when it comes to dyeing gear. It's usually the more generic and milder colors that are common; Greys, greens, pale blues, pale any color really, browns, dark yellows etc.

I don't understand how any logical thinking human would want them to be able to be traded. Lets give collectors edition buyers an infinite supply of a highly valuable item just to speed along the eventual demise of our economy? It hurts the game. It hurts the vast majority of players. The only reason to vote for them being transferable is greed. Think of the game instead of yourselves.

I think he meant that if you trade them, you lose them.
Otherwise they're an infinite source of gold like you said, which wouldn't make sense at all actually on 2nd thought, then just everyone would have it, since they would have their prices devaluate to 100 gold in the AH which still doesn't make sense at all..
Well, so far it seems that the majority of people here are for exclusive over tradable. I'm very much indifferent on the matter because I think it's win/win for the CE owners either way.
