I think 10 will be plenty for the release of the game. More will be warranted upon the release of an expansion with new classes. As others have mentioned before I'm more concerned with the size of the share stash. Not feeling like it's going to be enough storage space, but it is still the beta so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
When i played the beta i saw that the max numbers of caracters was 10, I think this is way to low.
I guess its nothing new for WoW player? For me it is and im the kind of players who will make different kind of caracters per class to try new style. Just like a BowZon or a JavaZon.
Whats is your idea on that?
Its not a big deal, but staying in line with the many idiots in the Diablo 3 community, we should stamp our feet and proclaim it is the end of the world.
Unless they changes game systems that require you take decisions that permanently affect a character, I see no reason to go over 10 characters per account.
If you want to change your class "style", change your rune/skill set and get other equipments, no need to start a new character, which for me is a great thing they went that way with D3.
So 10 characters is fine since you'll be able to create one of each class, in both softcore and harcore.
That seems like a reasonable amount for the time being. If/when there's an expansion then that might be an issue that could come across due to the possible want or need to make a new character or characters for it. As far as I'm aware they want to make it so you're able to change your spec as well so 10 characters should be plenty... for now.
It doesn't seem like that bad. Playing activly on 10 characters and trying to farm for gear will eventually burn you out. 10 characters per. account seems reasonable to me.
I really understand most of you saying 10 is more then enough if you only play softcore.
For me as a Hardcore players i will also want to have 5 softcore and 5 hardcore.
So this mean i wont be able to start a lvl 1 with a friend who just bought diablo without deleting one of my lets say 50+ lvl caracters.
Blizzard won't us to play togueter, but the only way ill be playing a new caracter with a friend is by having to sell 1 of my high level caracter and to be honest this really suck...
Space and data never been an issue in the past for blizzard. All this is just a business decision to make more money from GEEKS who will play a lot. to buy a second D3 key.
People here who have a GMAIL account, go login and scroll down to the bottom please. You will notice that you can store up to 7681 mg (7.6 gig) of data and it's ALL FREE! Do you really think that your stash size and caracters take a lot of of space in their server...? NO !!This is bullshit and just to make more money.
Also people who say Auction house will help the storage problem... I dont see how this is helping at all. You will sell an item and the player who buy it will store it. Same thing if someone sell you an item. It is a physic law.
It's alright with me, 5 characters we can choose from that's half the slots. Only thing left would be to wait for expansion to take up another one or two spots or if I had different builds. I mean at least one of the main 5 characters will be hardcore or a duplicate.
For me I'm not sure how many times I'd be playing through, unless I'm building a PvP character. So 10 slots is good for me.
10 slots is more then enough i mean cmon is there really a reason to make Both a Female and a Male Barb or w/e class all you really need is just 5 classes for normal and 5 for HC thats all i can really see the need for.
personally 10 characters is more than enough for me. 5 slots for each class and 2-3 more slots for hardcore. unlike d2, in d3 you do not have to worry about messing up your stats, and you can test out every build in each class with only 1 character due to ability to reskill without any penalties. back in D2 10 slots is defn not enough.
the only problem i can see for myself is not enough storage space due to shared storage between all the characters. Thus having to waste slots on mule characters to hold on to items rather than putting them into storage.
Well unless you can send things to your other toons on the same server then a 10 character limit won't be as much of a draw back as it is in WoW now. If you can move items that changes my opinion completely. I'd prefer to have any and all toons I may use to be able to be on the same server to make the most of dropped items beyond the AH options.
I honestly don't think this will be an issue, maybe they'll bump up the maximum to 15 later on, maybe not. I won't be losing sleep over it if they don't. I can understand that some players may want to exceed the 10 character limit but it's not the number of characters that you have but how you use them!
