I agree, making the outside environments more random would be a good addition, and yes, quite difficult to do. It would also be good to increase the size of them... only going from what the beta has to offer, I'm not to fond of the size of the outside areas, there not big enough. Though, I'm sure they do get much larger as you get further into the game (at least I would hope so).
I believe they said that in the first part of Act I (maybe all of Act I?) the areas are quite a bit smaller. This is because Act I is like their tutorial, to get people used to the game and how it plays. I'm assuming the other areas are much larger with bigger open spaces (at least I hope so). From what I've seen in the beta so far the outdoor areas aren't too big (seemed mostly straight forward with not a whole lot of open space) and I was disappointed by this at first, and was hoping the entire game wasn't the same... but from what they say it won't be, so I have hope.
Closing the storyline...if it ever gets to the point where Diablo rides Deathwing into the future and becomes cyber demons and take on the crossbreed offspring of Kerrigan and Raynor, I quit.

Haha... Everyone running around with machine guns, jumping in their done up cars and having mini game races. What a nightmare.
The final expansion will in a way close the storyline, but hopefully leave it open ended for......... Diablo 4!!!! (in the next 30 years). =)
Maybe the expansion could have a new race. I dunno, something like, maybe a panda race?
All I really hope is that when the expansion comes out I don't need to replace some sweet end game inferno item with some silly looking thing with bs stats like what happened with the WoW expansions. I'd hope inferno gear would be viable for a while in the expansion.

Sure! As long as its not a playable panda then it will be alright. And plenty of them to leave a forest in blood after destroying them.
So I am hoping the boss progression in the original game goes something like:
Act 1: (Insert Random Awesome Boss here)
Act 2: Belial
Act 3: Azmodan
Act 4: Diablo
The game will take you through and eventually drop you in a very evil setting to fight Diablo, but it would still be on Sanctuary.
Expansion one I was hoping for something like "Diablo 3: The High Heavens" where you must work your way into the High Heavens to fight angels. I am hoping there could be about three main bosses in the first expansion... Izual (or another corrupted/evil angel), a lieutenant of Imperius and then Imperius himself.
Expansion two I was hoping for something along the lines of "Diablo 3: The Burning Hells". I am hoping that this would also have three bosses, those three bosses being Mephisto, Ba'al and a resurrected (far more powerful, perhaps fueled by the black soul stone) version of Diablo.
Mechanics/Things I am hoping to see in the expansions:
1. The 'charms' system to come back and to have them do it as planned, without taking inventory space.
2. One/Two new classes per expansion.
3. 5-10 new character levels per expansion.
4. More PvP modes.
5. The continued implementation of random events around the entire world of Sanctuary. The more random events you add, the fresher it keeps the content.
6. Alternatives for socketing your items outside of just gems.
7. An enhanced follower system that allows them with you at all times and to be able to equip more gear than just weapon/shield.
8. More ways to customize your character without it becoming overwhelming. (Perhaps every 10 or 20 levels you get to choose a stat to 'specialize in'. For instance, you hit level 20 and you can choose Vitality... from then on you get a 10% boost to your Vitality)
9. Expanding of the rune stone system in terms of stats on runes and how they can impact your character.
10. More gear slots (if they can even think of any more)
Things I don't want to see:
1. More runes. I hope they cut it off at five. Any more would start to get ridiculous.
2. 'Stat points' and 'skill points'. They went this way, I hope they stick with it. Though I do really like my idea of being able to specialize in one specific stat and maybe even specialize in one specific skill. Specialization in one specific stat could increase it by 10%. Specialization in a skill could forever make it cost less to cast, do slightly more damage, etc.

1. Unattuned Runes are taking the place of charms. (And charms sucked, I like my inventory space.)
6. You didnt have any options in D2, mostly jewels and sometimes runes. Gems were pretty much worthless.
8. They are trying to get rid of the easily screwed up characters and irreversible choices. Such a thing seems rather random and out of place as well.
10. Like what? Socks?
Other than that, I like your ideas.

One is never hurt by being given additional choices, only by taking them away. A QUADRILLION MAGIC FIND is worthless if you can't kill shit!
1. Unattuned Runes are taking the place of charms. (And charms sucked, I like my inventory space.)
... Did you read the part where I said "They should do it like they were thinking about, where it DOES NOT take up any inventory space"? AKA, you have another limited inventory/item that keeps charms separate.
6. You didnt have any options in D2, mostly jewels and sometimes runes. Gems were pretty much worthless.
Jewels would be a great addition. As should more powerful version of Gems (D2 style runes basically).
8. They are trying to get rid of the easily screwed up characters and irreversible choices. Such a thing seems rather random and out of place as well.
I never said the choice had to be irreversible. You could always allow the option to simply swap it, like you can swap in and out skills. But I agree, it may not be the best of ideas.
How are they going to work expansions Level wise? If they add levels, then they would have to scale all of inferno up accordingly as well. All the skills, everything would need to be scaled up to account for it.

I don't think they will ad additional levels, the reason they scaled it back to 60 in stead of 99 is because they felt that it became monotonous. This doesn't mean that there is 39 levels of missing XP, I think that level 60 D3 will be = to lvl 80 D2 (just a random guess). They scaled the levels so that the first 15 or so are easy to get but just like in WoW you hit a leveling wall that becomes harder and harder to get by as you scale to 60.

8. This is a really good idea, I would love a system like this to be implemented. =)
I agree with you for everything except:
- I would like to see a snow area, if their isn't one in the current game.
- More runes would be awesome, along with charms being applied with the talisman. =)
Moddable PvP maps.
More of everything (not even a wish, this will obviously happen)
Talisman, Charm...well any new system that will give everyone more to do
I think the Expansions will add in more spells for pre-existing characters, perhaps ones taken directly from their D2 counterparts. I don't think it would make much sense to spend a lot of time working on bringing back old classes (except for the Druid and perhaps Paladin) as the new classes represent them well enough. I think there will be a new Rune added and perhaps more stash space (just another page or two).
I agree on the level gap in a new expansion, i was quite let down when my 99 sorc wasnt able to level higher and we only got one new act in "Lord of destruction"
also i would like to get a rehaul off the exsisting acts, Act 1 got really tiresom after a few years :-)
also I'am curious to when they will reset the ladder in Diablo 3. Since in Diablo 2 it's every 6 month, but that sounds way to off in Diablo 3, considering the Inferno diff, and the fact that there arent/wont be/ iam hoping for. not to be that many botters in Diablo 3 as there are in Lord of Destruction.
there is no ladder in D3. FYI

I'm hoping for two expansions, but I'm only really expecting one. One after 3 years, a second 3 years after that, then Diablo IV 4 years after that provides a nice stream of content and a 10 year cycle for the series, which seems reasonable.
In each expansion I'd like to see
1 new class
5 or so new skills per class. I don't really want synergies, but I'd like it if skills worked together a little more. If they don't have this in the main game already, I'd like for runes in Skill A to affect Skill B if the rune in Skill B triggers Skill A, e.g. If you use Teleport to drop mirror images and you place a rune in Mirror images to drop 4 mirror images, when you teleport, you should drop 4 mirror images instead of 2.
1 new rune
1-2 new Acts
Level cap raised by 10-20 (offsets extra XP from new acts).
New PvP types. I enjoy cowing and farming as much as the next guy, but PvP is where unique end game content comes in. Something that rewards advanced strategy like Guild Wars did would be awesome.
Maybe allow for runes to be placed in equipment to do other things. Then you have even more decisions to make with runes. It could be combined with the talisman/charm idea as well.
Higher resolutions support so that maybe we can get more players in parties.
As for the new class that hasn't been done before, I wonder if they could do the rage builder/spender mechanic with life instead. Something along the lines of a blood ritualist. Call spirits, life leach, take control of demons, shift shapes, etc. Basically, something that even in the realm of Diablo seems to be unnatural.
So, this is a topic primarily for fun and joy and happiness.
I want to know what you guys would like to see in any expansions of Diablo 3. It could be the first expansion, second expansion, one hundredth expansion or all of them together. =)
I'll start:
In first expansion of Diablo 3 I would love -
1. New act (bigger than any previous act)
2. New class or 2
3. Seeing as Blizzard want Diablo to be the last boss, it can be that he managed to survive in Act 4, acquires more powers and ends up at the end of Act 5. =)
4. Increased max level (possibly level 80) with more skills! =)
5. Additional changes to the first 4 acts; change their aesthetics and story here and there, to make them renewed in a way that would make people really want to play through them again even though it would have probably been done over a hundred times before the next expansion. I want the expansion to bring a real living dynamic feel with it, giving the world of Sanctuary new life in the new act and old ones (change in environments, new monsters, new npcs, new areas, new mini bosses, potentially a new big boss - all in the first 4 acts).
Your turn. =)
1. I agree. A new act with a decent size.
2. I agree with you. 1 new class seems fine. If they only make 2 expansions though, then "perhaps" 2 new classes.
3. I am not sure how much everybody wants to fight Diablo for 1.5 to 3 years just to get an expansion where they end up fighting him again. Even if he is stronger. It would be a lot more interesting in my opinion if he came back with the very last expansion of the game.
4. They wanted to reduce the level cap for a reason. People some to be fixated with the idea that we need to have a higher level cap, I am still having problems understanding why. People seem to really be fixated over this.
My guess is that either they won't raise it, or they will just raise it 5 levels. (The old inferno gear will help people through the new act but may be outdated compared to the new hell gear)
5. A very interesting an innovative idea buddy. I believe that the acts should only have maybe a little area added here and there, along with a quest or two. (To add to lore and interest in the old acts)
This idea will be good if implemented carefully.
Additionally:
A lot of people want new skills.
Well, I am happy with that, but not if it causes them to break the game balance.
On the charm system:
Add it only if these charms you pick up or get actually make a difference instead of adding 16 hp at Level 60 or something ridiculous like that. (like in D2)
A lot more I wanted to add to this but there are just too many posts to address them all in a timely manner.
Well in Diablo 2 he was the last boss until the expansion so why not do that again?
or they could go with him surviving or escaping last second only to come back stronger
and with more minions. I'd like to see either one!
And as far as new classes go, what type of class would you guys expect or want?
Also, @Jaelzadeon I keep seeing you in all the forums I go to! lol
I just hope the game feels complete storywise and they don't leave big conclusions to expansions. Nothing's worse than a completely unsatisfactory ending like in SC2
But yeah, a new act, new classes, items such are good enough content for me in expansions.
it leaves you wanting to know the end so you want to buy the expansion more. DER
