You should have, like you said, plenty of time in your "D3 Forums" area. There's also time in that same spot for friends, TV, etc. and stuff. I also think that Diablo III will be an excellent stress-killer especially for someone in Medicine, and if anything should improve your performance (as long as you can fight videogame addiction. For instance, I had to break my D2 CD in half a few years ago, and even though I could easily re-download the game over battle.net that singular act was enough to get the Diablo monkey off my back.)
What's really going to be hard is what I'm doing. I'm entering college with a Physics/Math focus, so I'm trying to figure out how to work D3 into calculus and physics all the time.

The final test of the Serpent's Form takes place in "The Pit of 12 Vipers." The initiates are not told about the 13th.
It will be rough. Games like diablo, wow, dota are all terrible terrible games to play if you have more important things going on. Time and time again I get into trouble with these types of games because they suck you in and you spend way too much time going, "one more game, or one more run, etc." "Oh, Ill go to bed at 3, hmm 3:30. Hmm 4 o clock for sure". etc.
I have much better luck, and much better grades when I play shooters or rts. But its hard to not want what the heart wants u know?
Its funny I logged about 200 hours in tf2 over a few years now. And I felt like I played the hell out of it. I still play it from time to time.
I bought Torchlight to screw around, and I logged 50 hours in like 1 or 2 weeks.
So I'd be careful when d3 comes out and try to limit yourself. Or just find a woman. Getting laid usually can help you curb a gaming addiction pretty fast.
I'm starting law school this month and even if D3 came out this year, I wouldn't purchase it until next summer. I know full well what would happen if I got into D3 during law school, and let's just say it would turn law school.... <puts on sunglasses>
Tbh imo D3 is the perfect game to play while doing demanding studies. It's very casual game were you log in and log out anytime and it fits in small game sesions. You know, play 20 min of diablo after launch is totally viable.
You can even buy bad ass gear with your wage in case you work in an lab or something.

I guess that works if you never want to meet anyone or have sex, ever. =(

Sorry. That is is not true at all. I've been a lot of both those things since med school has started.
I'm going to continue to stay as optimistic as possible because things have been good so far and will only get better once D3 comes out (I hope).
they can coexist, its all about time management... I'm a major in Kinesiology pre-med and minor in graphic design, I have a girlfriend, and I play a lot of video games... try using games as a reward for the studying, and balance wisely... oh ya and don't sleep, its overrated.
