I have no idea. But i want the whole game (all three difficulties) and all parts of the game without cinematics and without quest texts. Oh, i also don't want the names of the bosses.

If it ends up being anywhere near as full as this I will have to just avoid the beta, fansites and the internet all together until release. Maybe just reduce my twitter follows to the Official D3 page for release date info >_<
Personally having waited 10+ years only to have a beta spoil the game would be a huge letdown.
Yea as much as I want to play the beta I would want to avoid it if it was the entire game. I mean I wouldn't in order to cover it, but I do want to expirience some parts in a more polished form than a beta. And I wouldn't want to only kinda know the story, as it would be unavoidable based on the areas you were going to. All that being said it probably won't be the entire game.
I have no idea, but as far as making sure nightmare and hell are at a good difficulty, they could have you go through the same starting areas while jumping up levels after completion. If its even something they feel like they really need to test. The only thing I have to say about content that might be in the beta is that I think they'll leave out a good amount of stuff in order to not spoil it.
Yea I dont belive they will have many spoilers in the beta. Just some random side quest spoilers lol. Perhaps a few main quests but I belive that could be it.

They could possibly do later areas with just random dungeons/encounters and no lore related dungeons. Although if you went to, say, heaven, it would be a pretty big spoiler. Or even Hell.
Haha yea, day 1 of beta i think there should be a front page post of how to add that hide spoiler button, and cautioning people on wording titles in hopes to limit spoilers for those who dont want them. :whoops:
A Post Concerning The Real-Money Auction House:
"Except real money trading has always been present in Diablo 2. Except now it's going to be officially supported which will reduce scams, prevent the funding of the black market so your kids will no longer be exposed to dangerous life ruining drugs like the cancer causing marijuana."
I figured it was a pretty nebulous question but it's good to know others are running these questions around in their heads as well.
The poll ScyberDragon posted asking about what we would like to see covered is a good start. I also like the idea of any spoiler based info from the beta having a disclaimer at the title page/"featured after the jump" type of set up for articles.
In WoW, they do premade characters for Arena. Probably what they will do in D3. Basically, you just choose a class in your battle.net account and they add it to your D3 account. When you logon you have a level 60 with a full set of items and skills.
I have no idea if they will have PvE in beta, but it seems like they won't need it. PvE doesn't really have any balance to work on. I mean some classes might be a little easier or faster to level than others, but that's good enough. As long as you can beat the game with every class, it should be fine. They can fix the little things after release with patches.
Battle.net 2.0 was already fully tested with Starcraft 2. D3 isn't doing anything new than SC2 did last year. Matchmaking? SC2 has that. Custom Games? Done in SC2. Chat/Communication? Already in SC2.
The 6 month period from the start of the beta to the release of the game (according to Jay Wilson) and the fact that PvP balancing won't be their primary focus (again according to Jay Wilson) makes me pretty sure we'll get more than just one act and PvP.
Perhaps they'll keep the last act secret, but for a 5-6 months beta, you have to cover lots of things. Or there's no point for a beta period that long.
Beta is less about finding bugs, and more about the "first impression".
These guys debug their code countless number of times, and chances are if there are any bugs, its very very very minor.
I assume what Blizzard is not looking for a server stress test, nor testing for a quick match system (They have done so with SC2 already, by accepting more and more people through out 6 months).
In my opinion, Blizzard wants to find about what people feel about their game when they first play it. Such as, Skill display, Quest display, easiness to follow what the world has to offer (perhaps couple of quests from Act 1, just to know the jist of how quest systems will work). and a whole lot of "basic stuff"
And it will be impossible to balance PvP within 6 months, let alone all the combination of Gems, Gears, Traits, will far exceed 70billion if i heard correct. They'll put PvP in the game, but dont expect them to change too much. This is different than SC2, where there are only 7~8 units that are clearly identifiable at all situations.

That wouldn't make any sense. If you see Diablo walking down the corridor, or Tyrael crashing through the roof, your damn well going to have everything spoiled regardless of whether there's quest text of not. Even if it's just something minor, the second you get a quest that says "Maybe Belial is..." you'll immediately realize that's that nameless boss you fought three dungeon levels later in the beta.
There's no way around it. If Blizzard doesn't want to spoil anything, then they're not going to show it. And they've kept it tight so far, and I expect it to continue until release.
For D2 I think it was just the first act. I'm expecting something similar with D3.
I suspect both Act 1 and 2, since we've seen those two extensively so far. There will be some spoilers that's just unavoidable, but it probably won't be anything major or anything we didn't expect.
For example we already know Leoric has returned, and it seems reasonable that we're going to kill him. And we also know there's some town in Act 2 that's been killed and there's morlu hanging around. No big deal either.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.

Well, i said no quest texts at all. And without any mentions on character names and dialogue files to listen to something, you may see what happens, but you don't actually know what's happening.
Right, you see an angel fighting. Do you know for sure if it's Tyrael? Or if you fight him, are you sure it's going to be Imperius and not Tyrael if you don't see a name? We all expect to fight Diablo in the end and we'll see the locations and all but the plot is pretty much contained in cinematics, dialogues and quest texts.

I can still know what's happening. I may not be able to know anything for certain, but that doesn't really matter. Because as soon as I play the retail version, I'll immediately be able to start puzzling together pieces.
Right, you see an angel fighting. Do you know for sure if it's Tyrael?
Yes, because I know what Tyrael and all of the Angiris Council look like. And if that does not correspond with how they appear in D3, then Blizzard messed up somewhere, seeing as the entire troligy was written to establish the lore for D3.
You could pull the "hidden trickster" card and say that someone disguised themselves as someone else. But that's only going to work once or twice throughout the game without getting stale.

I was just curious as to what aspects of the game will the Beta unveil before the game is released?
Things like skills and such of course but would it just be a playthough of the campaign or more just balance of limited areas and arenas?
I was not part of the Diablo 2 beta, was that just a playthrough of the entire game or small sections to test skills and such?
I'm just trying to gauge whether or not I should keep my eyes and hands away from the beta when it happens if it's going to spoil the plot.
