Don´t really care about the inventory to be honest, instead squares shaped one way, they're now another shape. I'm more interested in the character screen, instead of the typical mmo view (3d model in the center, pieces around it) we're now back to the D2-look, loving that.

By calling it the "inventory screen" I was trying to refer to the inventory as well as the character screen with the armor and everything, my mistake.
what bothers me is that the weapons are where the feet are..it just irks me.
Then theres the fact that big weapons like armor takes only 2-4 small squares. it bothers me because that is a big item, and it loses its mass (so - to speak) when you see it in a tiny box...
and this isn't the stash, so the size of it doesn't matter that much to me..

"Not Even Death Can Save You From Me" ~ Diablo (II)
Im not a big fan of the weapon at my feet. Im not an assasin character who puts hidden weapons inside her boots/shoes to quickly kick some ass to the unexpected ass holes lol :P. But I am a big epic Conan and I dont keep my weapon hidden in my feet. I pull out the big huge axe and I slice his head clean off....

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
that just reminds me, what ever happened to the 3d image of the inventory on your character?
do you remember how in the first gameplay trailer, there was a 3d character in the inventory screen of the barb holding his flaming axe. as you changed the items in the screen, you could see the look of the barb change..
is that completely gone and replaced with what we saw in the artisan vid?

I love it; no more tetris! Bit more reason to pick up more 'junk' which will make for more fun with the crafting/artisan system.
My suggestion, and this may be what they have in mind, is that if the 5th class is indeed ranged, to not have arrows/bolts take up inventory space (like gold). Again, I'd bet money that they're planning on this anyway.
I´m really getting ticked off about people that hate features just because a popular game decided to put in their game.
If it works why hate it? Why keep something old and outdated if you can have something more fancy looking?
The only reason that D1 and D2 didn't had it was because it was old and 3d models didn't even exist yet.
Preferring one style doesn't mean you hate the alternative. You're getting worked up over nothing. Also, I'm pretty sure you can rate something like charcoal drawings above 3d-animation if you want to. It's about personal preference. 3d modelling isn't better by default just because it's a newer technique.
Personally I rather like the pen&paper RPG style "paper-doll" inventory they've shown recently. It's a much cleaner design and if I want to see how gear looks on my character I can just look on my character.
By the way, don't forget that we can zoom into our character so if you don't like having to compare the 3d model in the original inventory to a zoomed out character, you can't use this as an argument to support the original design.
I think both styles look good, but I prefer the current model.
I like the 3D model in the first version, but I feel that it's kind of redundant because you can always zoom in on your character in-game.
I also like that on the current version, there is a drawing of the character behind all the equipped items. Little details like that really stand out. Plus, the original style of inventory is back with the "grid" layout, which feels very much like a Diablo-style inventory.

Destiny is no matter of chance, it is a matter of choice
I'm not a fan of the 3D model thing. Not because of wow or mmo or w/e.
It's just that Diablo 3 character model is not made for us to see in such close distance. I prefer a bunch of details and cool looking figures then a ugly 3D model. This is how you turn a not very potent game into eye candy, avoid 3D and use pure simple art when possible.

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth
